either the United States of America or Switzerland. A time in which those countries by and large had prosperity and the freedom to pursue anything you could dream of.
Life looked very different if you were born 80 years earlier. For example, in Germany, in your lifetime and in your country, you would have had been a part of 2 world wars, 2 hyper-inflations, no retirement benefits, and very limited health insurance, et al.
And still today, if you are born in most parts of Africa or Asia, life and opportunities look very different. I am thankful for the country I was born in, Switzerland, and the United States where I live and can pursue my entrepreneurial vision and dreams.
I am a believer in stakeholder capitalism, which means that I operate to maximize not only my profits but aim with equal efforts for the benefits of my employees, customers, and the community at large as well. I am thankful to do business in western democracies in which I can pursue my dreams with a great degree of freedom.
I am thankful that 30 years ago, I was allowed to immigrate to America and become an entrepreneur. And let me tell you, I do not think there are many countries who would allow an immigrant to think “Big,” build a town from scratch like Avalon Park and so
years or just 1 year, would love to share your story. Please email info@AvalonParkSun. com with your story to be included in future editions.
Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for making Avalon Park the best place to Live, Learn, Work and Play!

Update from Pasco County Commissioner
I hope you all had a wonderful month of October as we get prepared to start of the holiday season later this month. I ap preciate you taking the time to read about what is happening throughout Pasco County.
There was a major policy win that will lead to more jobs coming to Pasco County. On October 25th, the County Com mission approved a plan to re move any limits on industrial or target businesses for the Central Pasco Employment Village area. This is great news that can lead to exactly what we want for our area, more good quality jobs! I’m proud this was accomplished before I left office.
On October 27th, I had the great honor to participate in ground breaking for Pasco County Fallen Law Enforcement Officer Me morial at the Historic Courthouse in Dade City. My colleague on the County Commission, Ron Oakley, has worked tirelessly on making sure this happens. I hope you will visit the memorial once construction is completed in 2023.
I was thrilled to sponsor resolution for Disability Employment Awareness Month. We were joined by representatives from The
Able Trust. They work hard on employment opportunities for citizens with disabilities throughout Florida.
As you know, I’m extremely proud of the work of our tour ism office, Experience Florida’s Sports Coast. In October, the tourism office hosted a televi sion show from the nation of Uruguay filming a Halloween special!
In early November, the Sarah Vande Berg Tennis and Wellness Center will host a ribbon cutting for The Well, their new housing for students training there from around the world. This is exciting and another reason that we are Florida’s Sports Coast.
Please check out Pasco County’s website at MyPasco.net for all the latest information. I hope you and your family have a wonderful and safe November!
About: Commissioner Mike Moore represents District 2 on the Pasco County Commission. He lives in Wesley Chapel with his wife and three children.

Global Tampa Bay’s mission: Expand markets and compete globally
By Janice Roman Credit : GMI Post
Global Tampa Bay (GTB), a cross-county partnership between the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council, Pinellas County Economic Development, and the Pasco Economic Development Council, is fo cused on promoting the Tampa Bay region globally as a top business destination.
In the last few years, Tampa Bay has become one of the more attractive places in the U.S. to live and work.
To improve the business climate in the region, GTB’s strategies include increasing business and trade op portunities for local companies and attracting foreign direct investments to create jobs in Tampa Bay. To enhance its attractiveness, GTB partnered with Tam pa International Airport, Port Tampa Bay, as well as federal, state and local agencies to improve access to global markets for businesses.
While the cost of living in the area is among the lowest in the country, Tampa Bay also offers very affordable labor costs, salaries, benefits, utilities, low federal, regional, and local taxes, as well as various tax exemption programs that will attract investors looking to relocate or expand operations.
Tampa Bay also has nearly 80 colleges, universities, and technical schools, including top-ranking insti tutions like the University of South Florida, Uni versity of Tampa, and Saint Leo University, which guarantees companies with a steady stream of high ly-skilled employees.
GTB organizes trade missions to meet potential cli ents in search of more export opportunities. Working with the U.S. Department of Commerce, it facilitates meetings with exporters and grants state and local assistance to offset the cost to participants.
In the past years, the region has seen dynamic growth in financial and professional services, manu facturing, distribution and logistics, life sciences and healthcare, information technology, corporate head quarters, and defense and security.
