The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is a vastly improved version of its previous iteration, which was not known for its particularly satisfying driving experience and mediocre value proposition. However, the new Trax offers an attractive design, premium features, and a very competitive price point. The Trax is a stylish and compelling small crossover that is designed to attract Gen Z and young millennials.

Chevrolet has gone to great lengths to rectify the old Trax’s lackluster image by giving the new Trax a fresh look, inside and out. The new 2024 Chevrolet Trax is

longer, wider, and lower than the old model, giving it a sleek, sporty look. The front fascia features slim daytime running lights, while the rear boasts large taillights and a fast roofline. The Trax’s hood is long and its hips are wide, giving it a strikingly athletic appearance. The LS, RS, and LT trims feature a wishbone-shaped chrome mustache and slightly different front fascia, while the Activ trim has a more rugged look with 18-inch black wheels.

The 2024 Chevrolet Trax’s interior is another area where Chevrolet has made significant improvements. The interior is spacious, comfortable, and features premium materials. The Trax gets two 10.25-inch, driveroriented twin screens on upgraded model grades LT and above, offering a smorgasbord of standard equipment, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The plastic fitment is tight, and no switch or knob on the Trax feels cheap or basic. Despite being Chevy’s cheapest offering, the Trax feels alluring and expensive, making it more appealing than competitors like the Nissan Kicks or Hyundai Venue.

cylinder turbo engine, mated to a traditional six-speed automatic transmission, producing 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. While the engine is not the smoothest or quietest under hard acceleration, it provides adequate power for the car’s size and weight. The Trax’s city fuel economy is 28 mpg, while the highway fuel economy is 32 mpg.

The ride and handling of the 2024 Chevrolet Trax have also seen significant improvements, thanks to the wider track and lower roofline that allows for a lower center of gravity. The steering has a bit of verve, making it reasonably engaging for its class. The Trax grips corners better than its predecessor and even the larger Trailblazer. Despite the notcomplicated MacPherson strut front and semiindependent rear torsion beam rear suspension, the ride is compliant and sophisticated.

While the Trailblazer is larger, with more upright driving position and AWD, Chevrolet insists that the Trailblazer’s premium goodies, like a panoramic sunroof, justify its higher price point. However, for buyers who can live without AWD, the 2024 Chevrolet Trax is a more compelling option of the two.

The 2024 Chevrolet Trax’s pricing is very competitive, with a base LS Trax starting at

$21,495, including destination fees, and a top-of-theline Trax Activ or 2RS maxing out at $24,995. The Trax is undercutting competitors like the Nissan Kicks and Hyundai Venue while offering better features and standard equipment.

Hyundai, with 1,221 vehicles sold, secured the third position, further demonstrating the demand for reliable and value-oriented vehicles in the Rhode Island and Bristol County Ma market. Hyundai’s reputation for offering well-equipped vehicles at competitive prices continues to attract a broad range of customers.

Ford and Chevrolet, two American automotive giants, closely followed in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Ford recorded a total of 1,194 vehicles sold, while Chevrolet achieved sales of 1,109 units. Both brands have a strong presence in the market and loyal customer bases, reflecting the enduring popularity of American-made vehicles in the region.

Subaru, known for its safety features and all-weather capabilities, secured the sixth position with 1,098 vehicles sold. The brand’s reliable performance and focus on adventure-oriented vehicles have resonated well with outdoor enthusiasts in the area.

Kia, Jeep, Nissan, and GMC also recorded notable sales figures, underscoring the diverse preferences of consumers in the region. Kia sold 1,072 vehicles, Jeep followed closely with 957 units, Nissan secured 712 sales, and GMC achieved a total of 555 vehicles sold.

The positive sales figures for the last three months indicate a healthy and vibrant automotive market in the Rhode Island and Bristol County Ma area. With a wide range of brands and models capturing the attention of consumers, dealerships can look forward to continued success in the months to come.
