An investment in the future of St. Louis

The transformation of a 125-year-old golf course into a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design public course, to become the hub of community and youth-related programming in the North St. Louis Region.

A not-for-profit venture by the Metropolitan Golf Foundation (the philanthropic arm of the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association), in connection with Jack Nicklaus, Nicklaus Design, and Beyond Housing.
Normandie Reimagined is more than a restoration—it is a transformation of a cherished landscape into a vibrant community anchor.

The Normandie Reimagined project is a transformative redevelopment of the 125-year-old Normandie Golf Course in North St. Louis County. This revitalization effort will create a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design public course and become a hub for youth programming and community development, expanding access and opportunity for local youth and residents.
By salvaging this historic course, we are creating a place where young people can discover confidence and discipline, families can connect across generations, and neighbors can gather in a setting rooted in both tradition and possibility.
With dedicated youth programming and welcoming open spaces, this will be a destination where growth happens on and off the course.
Guided by the vision of Tom O’Toole, Jr., past President of the United States Golf Association and Founder of the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association, this facility will blend world-class design with a deep commitment to community impact. A clubhouse complex that will serve as the heart of it all—offering spaces for events, dining, and after-school programs that support and inspire the next generation.
Your support helps turn this vision into a reality, ensuring this historic landmark continues to enrich the St. Louis community for centuries to come. Upon completion, the course will be named Normandie Golf Club at Emerson Park.
1 Youth Empowerment:
Golf-centered learning and leadership programs that build character, confidence, and life skills – preparing youth to become strong contributors to their communities.
3 Technology and Education:
Year-round STEM and digital literacy programs that are designed to close the technology gap and expand educational opportunities for local youth.
2 Community Engagement:
A treasured community asset that fosters connection, celebrates local history and strengthens pride across North St. Louis County and beyond.
4 Support for Heroes:
Programs and partnerships that honor veterans and first responders – offering healing, camaraderie, and well-being through the game of golf.

At the heart of the Normandie Reimagined project is a powerful commitment to youth—creating a welcoming place where young people can go after school, on weekends, and during seasonal breaks to learn, connect, and grow. It’s where the next generation of St. Louisans will access skills that can take them far beyond the fairway.
We are proud to partner with First Tee – Greater St. Louis, the Western Golf Association’s Evans Scholars Caddie Program, Urban Golf, and many other community organizations. These collaborations, along with Metropolitan Golf Foundation Programming, will provide mentorship, employment, and educational opportunities that engage and empower youth from the surrounding communities.

The Normandie Reimagined project is one of Nicklaus’ select few philanthropic endeavors. “The appeal of this project to me was to be involved in an effort that could serve as a catalyst to change needed in our country today, beginning with parts of St. Louis. Restoring Normandie for a community in need will have a long-lasting positive impact on the lives of youth in St. Louis.”
