MGA Stroke Play

Berkmeyer wins third MGA Stroke Play title

Like the rest of us, Skip Berkmeyer gets older. But he also seems to get better. Our 46-year old guest columnist this month, Berkmeyer followed a 2-under-par 69 with a 6-under 63 in the 36-hole final at Norwood Hills to clinch his third Missouri Golf Association Stroke Play Championship. Berkmeyer also won the championship in 2016 and 2013. Despite the suffocating heat for thedouble-header finale on July 24, Berkmeyer satrted well on the East Course, then went dancing on the East side with a bogey-free, six-birdie card. He completed the championship at 9-under to outdistance Ryan Sullivan (5-under) by four shots.
