THE AUTHOR
Robin Jones A middle child of five, has three sisters and a brother. Robin came from a mixed heritage family where his father had a First Nations mother and West Indian father. His Grandfather was the first black teacher in East York (Toronto Canada) in 1923. His great, great, grandfather was a slave and was smuggled through the USA via The Underground Railway to Ontario in the eighteen hundreds. His mother is Irish and came to Canda via the United States, when she was a teenager. His mother moved in next door to his dad’s family and fell in love even though she was already engaged. They ended up eloping and went back their respective homes without telling their parents. Robin Jones have been married once and divored once. His second wife died of dementia and she didn’t know who he was for the last four or five years. She adored his father and would be very pleased that a book is being written about him. Robin has six children, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Robin belong to a storytelling group in Victoria and have told a few about his story over the years. He enjoys art, live theatre, music, cooking, and love to entertain & host gatherings.

Letter from Santa Claus It’s the winter of 1949 and five-year-old Robin is very sick with pneumonia. His family takes him to the Toronto hospital where he receives good care from the nurses and the doctors. Though his father works hard during the day, he is always sure to visit Robin and read him stories. One night, dad wakes Robin to share a special letter he received. It’s from Santa Claus, and it tells the little boy about the exciting things happening at the North Pole in preparation for Christmas. That heartwarming letter from Santa is just what Robin needs to get better and leave the hospital in time for Christmas.
