Hip is about making purposeful, functional design that is sustainable. We go out of our way to find waste materials that we can repurpose, such as Sugarcane, Coffee Grounds and Ocean Bound Plastic.
Sugar cane is a recyclable natural material that is very resilient. It also absorbs carbon dioxide, one of our biggest pollutants.
Coffee grounds and husks are discarded waste, Hip turn this into new products.
Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) is abandoned plastic waste on its way to our oceans. OBP is a critical element in the fight against ocean pollution.

Did you know that every year around six million tonnes of spent ground coffee (what’s leftover when a coffee bean is ground and discarded) ends up in landfills?
