Outer Place My home, a paddock on the edge of a growing city is where I witness the open spaces becoming suburbs and nature disappearing. I see people caught in traffic heading in all directions and housing appearing over every horizon. The sanctuary of the coast and the forest with its grace and beauty, nurtures, revives and inspires in contrast to the built environment. Out of town, on the outskirts, away from the ‘big smoke’, Outer Place is a collection of art works exploring vivid experiences in the landscape.

– Sue Anderson, 2017 Sue Anderson’s deep connection to the natural environment resonates poignantly throughout her exhibition. Anderson explores through her unique visual language of richly layered oil paintings, ceramic sculptures and lithographs, the beauty, power and vulnerability of the landscape and the relationships, interactions and impact of humans within these surroundings. Her work is alive, uplifting and highly evocative.
