DECEMBER 2014

Greetings!!!! I hope everyone has had a Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving. A woman was asked by a co-worker, “What is it like to believe in God?” The coworker replied, “It is like being a pumpkin.” God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for the entire world to see. Be a Light for all you meet. Make a Difference. We in district are starting the sixth month of this lionistic year of 2014-15. Thus far we have been awarded a Gold Lion’s paw pin along with “Lions Pride Award” for the first quarter i.e., July- October. This is your award lions. Congratulations!!!! Keep up the great work. We can receive up to 4 awards during the course of this year. This is given for positive growth in membership that is higher than our average of a 5 year term. October was a great month. We added 83 lions to our district but lost 53 lions. November we added 8 lions but lost 10 lions. Lions we have to try and keep up the work done in October, if we have to gain our old glory back again in our district. We are still 4 th in line in membership, tagging behind 1-D by just a few lions. At the beginning of the year, I had asked all the clubs to add just one new member to your roster of July 2014. This means if you had 20 members as of July 1, 2014, your club should have 21 members by the end of December 31, 2014. i.e to replace the lost lion and then add just ONE MORE. Please try lions. I have faith in you. You can do it. Just ASK ONE member. Another month and more visits to clubs. As of November 30th, I have visited 22 clubs and five Regions meetings in the district. Region 1-6 had their 1st Region meetings on time. Please schedule your 2nd Region meeting by February 15th. So far Region 4 has scheduled with me February 19 th, 2015. Please do not overlap your meetings with other regions. This makes it difficult for me to attend. Some of the fund raisers have been very interesting and I have asked some clubs to put the information on the district website so all can see what other clubs are doing. Also we have 71 clubs in our district and I have waiting for the other 49 clubs to schedule your Governor’s visit. I do want to come and meet your members.
