Roots of Faith: The Journey of Bishop-Elect

Msgr Leslie Clifford D’Souza from Yermal

13Apr2026:

Roots of Faith: The Story of Yermal–Uchhila: Nestled along the highway connecting Udupi and Mangalore NH66, lies the quaint village of Yermal, popularly knownasUchhila. This small yet vibrant locality is home to a close-knit Catholic community of around 50 families, whose deep-rooted faith and unity havestood thetest oftime.

As early as 1935 and even before, this area formed part of the Shirva Church. Oral traditions recall that priestswouldvisitthevillageatleast thrice ayeartocelebrate HolyMass in the homes of the faithful.During those early days, the responsibility of coordinating these spiritual gatherings restedwith theGurkar, a role faithfully carried out by Louis D’Souza, (the grandfather of the present Bishop-elect). Thislegacyof service w

as later continued by his son, Lawrence D’Souza.

With growing faith and determination, the local Catholic families—including the D’Souza clan and six other families collectively contributed towards acquiring approximately 3.62 acres of land. Their dream materialised whenachapelwasbuiltandblessed on25th April 1961.

Over the years, this humble chapel became the centre of spiritual life, eventually being elevated as the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Yermal. It was formally inaugurated as a parish on 25th May1993, with Rev. Fr Peter Nazareth as its first resident priest. The parish continued to grow in strength and devotion, culminating in the construction ofanewchurch, which was blessed on 14th May2015. The Silver Jubilee of the parish was joyfully celebrated on 25th May 2018, marking 25 years of vibrant parish life.

Birth and Early Formation of a Shepherd:

It was in this deeply faith-filled environment that Msgr Leslie Clifford DSouza was born on 19th August 1962 to Lawrence and Cecilia D’Souza, a devout and hardworking familyofagriculturists.

At a time when there were no nearby Church or convent-run schools, young Leslie pursued his early education in local Hindu institutions in Uchhila. Despite limited resources, hestood out asa bright andintelligent student.

The simple chapel, the occasional visits of priests, and the deeply religious atmosphere at home played a profound role in nurturing his faith. These early spiritual influences gradually awakened in himacalltoserveGod, guiding him towards thepriesthood.

A historic moment arrived on 10th May 1990 a red-letter day for Yermal—whenitssonofthesoilwas ordained apriest bythe late Bishop BasilSDSouza,commemorating his 25years asBishop1965 -1990.

Probably this marked the first priestly vocation from this small

village, filling the community with immense pride andjoy.

Formation, Talents, and Early Ministry:

During his seminary formation, Fr Leslie was known among his peers as an active, creative, and enthusiastic individual. He was particularly admiredforhissporting talents, excelling in football and volleyball, which made him a popular figure among fellow seminarians.

He began his priestly ministry as Assistant Parish Priest at the Holy Rosary Church Kundapura from 1990 to 1992, followed by three years of service in Kulshekar from 1992 to1995.

Alongside his pastoral duties, he pursued higher studies and completed his master’s degree in English literature. Recognising his academic aptitude, he was appointed to teach at St Joseph Seminary from1995 to1997.

Impressed by his intellectual abilities and promise, Church

authorities encouraged him to pursue doctoral studies abroad. He proceeded to Belgium, where he specialised in Moral Theology, completing his Ph.D between 1997 and2003.

On his return, Rev DrLeslie DSouza servedasFormator andProfessorat StJoseph’sInter-DiocesanSeminary from 2003 to 2010, playing a key role in shaping future priests with wisdom anddedication. =================

pursued higher studies with remarkable dedication. After completing his M.A. in English Literature, he went on to obtain his Master’s and Licentiate in Sacred Theology, along with a Diploma in Psychology and Formation. His academic journey reached a significant milestone when he successfully completed his Ph.D. in Moral Theology from the prestigious KULeuveninBelgium.

Rev Dr Leslie Clifford DSouza - Scholar, Formator, and Parish Builder

DSouza-Scholar, Formator, and Parish Builder

Blessed with a deep thirst for knowledge and formation, Bishopelect Msgr Leslie Clifford D’Souza

Onreturning toMangalore, Rev.Dr. Leslie C. D’Souza took up the vital role ofFormator andProfessor atSt Joseph Inter-diocesan Seminary. From 2003 to 2010, and later as a visiting professor until 2013, he played a formative role in shaping future priests—imparting not only theological knowledge but also instilling values rooted in faith, discipline, and pastoral commitment.

A new and vibrant chapter in his pastoral life began in June 2010 at St John the Evangelist Church, Shankarpura

As Vicar, he emerged as a true shepherd, introducing initiatives that fosteredunity and

strengthened the sense of belonging among parishioners, nurturing them as one family in Christ. His vision extended strongly into the field of education as well. The institutions under St John’s received renewed focus under his leadership. Through constant encouragement and thoughtful evaluation, he motivated both teachers and students to strive for excellence, thereby strengthening theacademic andmoral foundation ofthecommunity.

The people of Pangla continue to hold him in deep respect and affection. His seven-year tenure is fondly remembered as a period of renewal and growth a true

renaissance for the parish. It was during this fruitful phase that Fr Leslie Clifford D’Souza joyfully celebrated his Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee, offering heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty for His abundant blessings andguidance throughout hispriestly journey.

As Parish Builder at Mount Rosary:

On 5th June2017, a small group of priests and just over half a dozen parishioners from Pangla quietly arrived at Mount Rosary Church to accompany Fr Leslie Clifford D’Souza. There was no grand welcome, no long convoy of vehicles just a simple, humble prieststepping ontothesacredaltar

to take charge from Fr Philip Neri Aranha, the visionary behind the newlybuilt spacious church.

What followed in the years ahead became a cherished chapter in the history oftheparish.

Theliturgy underhisguidance became notonlymeaningful but

alsospiritually uplifting and attractive. The choir was revitalised, andtheyouth—especially ICYMand YCS were encouragedtomakethe church campus a place not only to pray but also to grow, engage, and belong.

With the support of his assistant,Fr Clany D’Souza—once his own student in the seminary he entrusted significant responsibilities, particularly in nurturing children and youth. The completion of the Mount Rosary English Medium High School building markedamilestone, andFr Leslie made it a point to visit the school daily, living out the principle that “cleanliness is next to godliness” not merely in words, but inaction.

Several developmental works enhanced the beautyand

functionality of the parish: a serene grotto took shape, the compound

was secured with a boundary wall, anopen stage wasconstructed, and the cemetery was given a dignified new look with an attractive entrance.

Theunforeseen arrival ofCovid in 2019 temporarily slowed many activities, yet the church remained open for prayers and Holy Mass. During this challenging time, Fr Leslie, along with his assistant and resident priests, ensured that the faithful continued to receive spiritual nourishment and pastoral care.

Astriking qualityofFrLesliewashis deep humility. He never sought publicity and was often hesitant even reluctant—to pose for

photographs or step into the limelight.

The undersigned can personally vouch for the enriching experience of participating in Finance Committee and Pastoral Council meetings under his able leadership. His calm, thoughtful, and inclusive approach left a lasting impression onall.

Soon came the moment to bid farewell. Though his official term was to be six years, it was cut short to five, as a greater responsibility awaited him in the vineyard of the Lord as VicarForane ofShirva.

Even in departure, true to his nature,therewasnograndsend-off.

Just a handful of representatives barely a dozen gathered to bid him goodbye to Shirva. That was Fr Leslie: simple, sincere, and deeply spiritual.

And with folded hands, he left behindone humble request: “Keepme inyourprayers.”

Udupi: When Rev. Dr. Leslie C. D’Souza was handpicked to take chargeastheVicarofthevastShirva Parish, along with the responsibility of serving as the Dean of Shirva Varado, a quiet expectation began totake shape inthe minds of many of hisadmirers: “One day,God may choose him for even greater responsibilities.”

Fr. Leslie himself never aspired to such heights nor did he even dream of them. His focus remained firmly rooted in his priestly calling: toserve.

Part III: Msgr Leslie Clifford DSouza: A Shepherd Chosen for a Greater Mission

His tenure in Shirva Varado, in particular, offered him valuable exposure to administrative leadership and endeared him deeply to the clergy and faithful of the deanery. In these large and dynamic parishes, he encountered the real lives of people at close quarters—walking with them in their joys and struggles, and truly becoming one amongthem.

Andnow, within justfouryears, that quiet expectation has found

fulfilment.Fr.Lesliehasindeedbeen chosen to lead the young and growing DioceseofUdupi.

The path ahead is certainly not a bed of roses it is a mission filled with challenges. The Diocese comprises 52parishesspreadacross five deaneries: Kundapura, Kallianpur, Udupi, Shirva, and Karkala. Yet, with deep faith, he echoes the reassuring conviction:

“Devacha Ghara Kain Unne Na” there is no scarcity in God’s kingdom.

Those who know Fr. Leslie closely share this confidence. They see in himashepherd inthemaking—one wholeads byexample, adeeply

effective preacher, sincere, dedicated, and hardworking. His chosen episcopal theme, “Humble and Meek of Heart,” beautifully reflects the essence of his personality andmission.

At the same time, he is fully aware of the realities before him. A leader isonlyasstrongashisteam.Today, vocations are fewer—perhaps due to smaller families, worldly attractions, and changing aspirations. TheDiocesehasaround 75 priests, nearly half of whom are above theage of50.

Encouraging greater and more visible involvement of the laity already initiated by his predecessor will need to be continued with care and discernment. With a growing population of senior citizens in the Diocese, healthcare and social security programmes deserve priority attention.

Equally important is the future of the Church among the youth. Without the active presence of children and young people, the

vibrancy of the Church cannot be sustained. Focused efforts in youth engagement, alongwithsupport for education andprofessional growth, will be essential in shaping a hopeful future.

History reminds us thatGod’s plans arenotalwaysasmanexpects.Time and again, He has chosen the humble and the seemingly weak, strengthening them for great missions. InFr.Leslie, ayouthful 64years with asimple exterior, we find rare qualities—simplicity, courage, deep faith, rich pastoral experience of over 36 years, 5 early years as assistant priest, 6 years of higher education, about 12 years as Professor and equal number as Parish Priest and recent 4 years as Dean...and sound academic formation—all pointingtohisability to lead the flock with wisdom and unity.

Let us keep him inour prayers, that the Almighty may continue to guide, strengthen, and bless him abundantly inhisnewmission.

WAR AND PEACE: WE WANT PEACE

Whenever the Risen Lord appeared to his disciples, he greeted them withthewords, “Peacebewithyou”. Through his death and resurrection Jesus has established peace and reconciliation between sinful

humankind and God. Thus, Jesus wants human beings to live in peace. For us tobe happy we need peace of mind and serenity of the heart. No matter how wealthy we are, andhowhealthyweare, ifthere

is no peace in our mind and heart, we cannot be truly happy. All of us therefore cravepeace. However, the world leaders and politicians often, for their own vested interests, destroy peace by usingviolenceandwars.Nowarcan be really justified. Any conflict between groups ornations mustbe resolved through talks and negotiations, through dialogue and diplomatic efforts. ThewarbetweenU.S.,IsraelandIran has caused untold damage to live and properties not only in Iran and Israel but has affected the whole Gulf Region and beyond. The negative impact is felt in India too. Gas and fuel shortage is experienced by common man and industries. Trade and Transport will be affecteddue to wars. The prices ofcommonalities are bound torise, even as air travel has become costlier. In the war between Israel and Palestine (Hamas) Gaza is destroyed. The war between Russia andUkraine isstillgoingon.Whata colossal waste of money, destruction of lives and properties! Thousands of men, women and children are killed; millions of families have become refugees.

What have we achieved through all this? Because of the pride, arrogance and idiosyncrasies of a fewthewhole world mustsuffer. Another big factor behind wars is the weapon industry. They want their weapons, missiles, bombs, drones and warplanes etc. sold. If there are no war and no weapons sold, theirindustries will collapse as they cannot produce more weapons. So, they are happy when there are armed conflicts, civil wars and wars between nations in differentpartsoftheworldandthey are happy to sell their deadly weapons. We must pray that the world leaders, especially of the warring nations, stop war, come to negotiating table, talkand work for peace. The United Nations (U.N.) and other world leaders must mediate and motivate the warring factionstogiveuparmsandresolve their issues by talks and diplomatic efforts. Nuclear energy must be used for peaceful developmental works and not for wars. The aim in this regard should be total disarmament and abolition of nuclearweapons.

Justas charity begins at home, so

Also, peace begins at home. We as ordinary citizensmaynot beableto do much for world peace, except pray.Butwecanliveinpeacewithin ourfamily.Wecanliveinpeacewith ourneighbors. Letusatleastdothat bit and experience peace in our minds and homes and in our

neighborhood. That will surely contribute topeaceinsociety. MayJesus, thePrince ofPeace, who promised peace to his followers, grant us that peace. May we experiencehispeaceinourlivesand be channels of peace to spread it around.

threatening situations in the previous ninedecades.

Mywife Isobel, daughter Premila & son Anand, lovingly & meticulously organized a thanksgiving Mass, an elegant, well attended celebratory

lunch and a three-day holiday in Waynadthereafter tocelebrate this mile stone event. Iam very grateful to them for this. Details thereof are given hereunder: The thanksgiving Mass was offered at St. Joseph’s High School Chapel on Museum Road, by St. Joseph’s University Vice Chancellor Fr. Five New Priests Ordained for Mangalore Diocese in a Grand Ceremony at Cordel Church

MANGALURU: In a grace-filled ceremony that marked a significant milestone for the local Church, five deacons were ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Mangalore by Most Rev. Dr Peter

Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, on Thursday, 16th April 2026, at the Holy Cross Church, Cordel, Kulshekar.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration saw the participation of prominent dignitaries includingVeryRev.Msgr Maxim L. Noronha, Vicar General; Very Rev. Dr Daniel Veigas OP, Episcopal Vicar for Religious; Very Rev.Dr RajeshRosario, Rector of St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu; Very Rev. Naveen Pinto, Judicial Vicar; Very Rev. Santhosh Rodrigues, Director of the Pastoral Centre; and Rev. Fr Clifford Fernandes, Parish Priest of Cordel.

TheParish Priests ofthe ordinandi’s home parishes Fr Anil Avild Lobo (Nainad), Fr Stany Pereira (Bela), Fr Stany Goveas (Madanthyar), and Fr Harold Mascarenhas (Shirthady) were also present at the concelebration. Numerous diocesan and religious priests, sisters, brothers, and thousands of lay faithful gathered to witness the sacred rite.

Bishopʼs Homily: A Divine Gift and Mystery In his poignant homily,

Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha highlighted the profound theological andspiritual dimensions of the priesthood. Addressing the ordinandi, the Bishop underscored that the priesthood is fundamentally both a “divine gift andamystery”—avocation initiated not by human merit, but by God’s free and everlasting love. He exhorted the new priests toground their ministry in deep prayer and totalrelianceonGod’sgrace, noting that human weaknesses are transformed into pastoral strength when surrendered to the Lord. The Bishop further reminded the congregation ofthe critical needto support their priests in their daily ministries. Echoingtheuniversal call to spiritual resilience, he urged the faithful to accompany the new priests with continuous prayer, helping them to navigate the challengesofmodern ministrywhile remaining faithful “friends of Christ.” Heemphasized thatapriest is called to sanctify the people, celebrate the sacraments with devotion, and be an instrument of God’s immense compassion. The liturgical proceedings were animated by Fr Rohith D’Costa,

Director of DBCLC Mangala Jyothi, along with the seminarians. The entire ceremony was meticulously coordinated by Rev. Fr Clifford Fernandes.

Felicitation andGratitude Following the Mass, a brief felicitation programme was held. Fr Flavian Lobo introduced and felicitated the newly ordained priests and their parents. The Bishop individually greeted each new priest and honoured their parents with floral tributes, acknowledging their pivotal role in nurturing these vocations.

On behalf ofthe newly ordained, Fr Jeevan D’Souza expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Bishop, formators, vocation promoters, priests, parents, and parishioners for their constant support and prayers throughout their journey to the altar.

In his concluding remarks, Bishop Saldanha stated, “God has blessed us with five new priests. These young men have generously responded to God’s call. I thank their parents, parish priests, formators, and all who have

Living SimbLy

There's good and bad in everything, including you and me

Oh but when the poison seeps, and overpowers the good, we weep

Those days were hard, standing in the cold and rain, to make a call

To find a booth out of order, had you running helter skelter

Let us not forget, the tedious ordeal of finding coins

No time for idle chit chat, as that was the only means

So if it weren't the coins running out, the looks from outside, would be enough

Stolen moments is all one got, to make or break a date

Yet the greatest love stories had no cell phones or cars

If one friend managed to borrow a car, everyone had to squeeze in

Messages came through hands of trusted friends or bribery

Clubs were not a norm, but house parties were a dime a dozen

A tiny space was cleared and somehow everyone danced away

Everybody was welcomed and everybody was good Curfews were a real thing and so were brothers to escort sisters

Life was simple and people were kind, those were 70's my friend -

That day was particularly tense for Spanish Queen Isabella I. Having just returned from the battlefield, she went straight to the chapel, bypassing her customary advisors entirely. Her maids scrambled to keeppace withtheirfumingQueen. Once inside, Isabella collapsed before alarge crossasifinatrance, mumbling a frantic prayer. Hours later, she finally entered the audience chamber. It was then that amessengerdelivered thenewsshe hadbeen waiting ten years tohear: Granada, the final Muslim stronghold inSpain, hadfallen. With the conquest of the city, 800 years of Islamic rule in Spain & Europe had come to an end. The year was 1492.Inthislong,seeminglyendless holy war, thousands of Christians made the ultimate sacrifice. Their heroism wasunparalleled, driven by

a singular objective and the unwavering support from the monarchy. For centuries, rulers & subjects had one single goal to drive out alien&often cruel Islamic rule.

Fast forward to 2026: same Spain, but radically different, under the leftist government of Pedro Sánchez, which has moved to regularize an influx of 1 million (10 lakh+!) undocumented immigrants. Almost allareMuslims! Amongthis group are individuals with violent pasts terrorists, career criminals, and drug traffickers who face serious charges intheircountries of origin. This addition to the existing immigrant population is a decision that will have far-reaching consequences. As the native Spanish birth rate continues to decline, criticsarguethatSánchez— driven by partisan politics has made a fatal choice that will affect generations to come, not just in Spain or Europe, but across the entire world. The Spanish population in 2025 was merely 50 million (5 crore). With this new

integration ofmigrants,1inevery10 isanalienwhodoesn'tlooklikeyou, speaks your language, doesn't understand your culture, &belongs to a religion that categorically specifiesitsfollowers neverbecome friends with Christians. This phenomenon is not limited to Spain.AcrosstheEuropeanUnion inFrance, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, Greece, Germany, and Belgium—as well as in the UK, similar patterns have emerged. As the native European population declines, the immigrant Islamic/Hindu population is growing byleaps andbounds. Consider Germany under Angela Merkel’s 'open-door' policy, where millions arrived in a short span; today, the share of the population with a migration background has risen to 30.4%. Belgium’s statistics are even more striking, with over 53% of the population having originsoutside theEU.IntheUK,the Muslim population has grown from roughly 0.1%in 1950 tonearly 10% in 2024, driven primarily by immigration. Result:Germany today faces an unprecedented number of terror attacks, from bombing to knife attacks to cars ploughing into

busy streets. Almost 1 in every month, a serious terror incidents reported linked toIslamic terrorists. Irony is Islamic terrorists use German welfare funds toattack the very Germans, yet Govt in Germany blissfully looks the other way! And this is true for almost every EU nation. This represents a complete demographic overhaul.Often, those who highlight these shifts are immediately labelled as 'racist' or 'Islamophobic.' However, facts are facts. Europe is witnessing a continental shift. While a nation should tackle a declining birth rate by incentivizing its own citizens, manyEUleaders have treated mass Islamic/Hindu immigration asa first resort rather than a last one. Incidentally Japan, South Korea, China,Russia& manyothernations inAsia, theAmericas&Oceaniatoo faceapopulation decline, but none of those have resorted to mass Islamic immigration as the EU did. It's not immigrants' fault to overwhelm EU society; it was, and remains, the responsibility of European leaders to manage migration in a way that is mutually beneficial andsustainable, andthey

failed miserably. Their fatal obsession with diversity & equity is killing theChristianity intheEU. Of course, not every immigrant is a threat.Manyaretalentedengineers, doctors, and entrepreneurs who contribute significantly totheirhost nations. They are a welcome addition. However, a large portion of the current influx consists of 'unwelcome guests' from Hamas to Boko Haram to Hizballah toTaliban to ISIS individuals drawn by the promise of state welfare or those carrying serious criminal backgrounds, taking advantage of Europe’sliberallaws.Anewbreedof leftistpoliticians, driven byalustfor power &obsessed with having that imaginary halo, treats these arrivals asa'ticket tooffice.'Byregularizing millions and granting them voting rights, these politicians create a new, loyal voting bloc that can act as a kingmaker, often silencing the concerns of the native population. In this climate, any dissent is branded as 'far-right,' a narrative frequently bolstered byaless-thanhonorable mainstream media like BBC, FRANCE24, DW, SKY News, ABC,CNN,NBC&manymore.

The shiftin European foreign policy becomes glaringwhencomparedto the conflicts of the early 2000s. During the 2003 Iraq War and the subsequent campaign in Afghanistan, the United States enjoyed complete support from its European allies. Together, they stood shoulder to shoulder against dictators &global Islamicterrorism. Contrast that with the current 2026 US-Iran war. While the European Union recognizes that Iran’scurrent leadership poses a grave threat to world peace and despite the regime's frequent mass rallies calling for the destruction of Westerncivilization, itsgrosshuman rights violations, its brutal clampdown on recent protestors & its support for terrorists like Hizballah & Houthis causing 1000s of deaths of innocent people Europe's role has been shockingly anti-US. Some member states have even hinted that Iran is the 'poor victim'. Even as they benefit from the elimination of a dangerous regime and its nuclear ambitions. Incredibly, the Spanish Prime MinisterhasflatlydeniedtheUnited States permission to use its own airbases &banned it from its entire

airspace for the campaign against Iran. This refusal comes even thoughSpainsitssecurelyunderthe NATO agreement, protected by the very U.S. military and nuclear umbrella. The United Kingdom has proven to be no better. Once a 'forever' ally of the U.S., the UK's active role was replaced by a timid ‘we are with local Islamists’. The allies who rely most on American protection are the first to abandon themission when domestic political pressures mount. They’ve shown it during the Hamas-Gaza & Israel conflict. Even though the US/Israel are fighting against the terrorist Hamas. Why the change of heart? Mainly because major powers like the UK,Spain, France, andGermany are paralyzed by large domestic Muslims. They are wary of antagonizing their newly regularized and rapidly growing Islamic populations. In 2026, the priority of European leaders is shifted from securing international stability to pleasing the Muslim population atanycost, andthisisall happening when the immigrant population isjustover10%,imagine what will happen at 15 or 30%! There are already 5 nations that

have 30toalmost 100% Muslims in the EU. London's mayor Sadique to 2ndmostprominent leaderafterthe UK’s PM Starmer. Shabana Mahmood, UK, has 25 MPs of Muslim origin. The day is not far whentheEUgoestowaragainstthe USover issuesrelated toimmigrant Muslims! Led by some crazy leader like Spain's Pedro or Muslim PM of jehadi background. By distancing themselves from the great ally that stood by them through two World Wars & spent Trillions of dollars to secure the EU & thrive. Forgoing the United States the very architect of modern Europe, that's nothing but betrayal ofepicproportions. TheEU leadership is doing this because it wants to keep its Islamic/Hindu immigrants happy. It’ll be crystal clear to you if you watch speeches made by UKs Starmer or Spain's Pedro, France's Macron, or Germany's Merz. Their political correctness & appeasing policies are going to cost the EU dearly. Comparing them to rulers of the EU/UK of the past bygone era, you can'thelpbutlamentwhataterrible fall! while trapped by its own decisions. By allowing a rapidly

growing and newly regularized Islamist to dictate national and foreign policy, these nations are actingas ifthe fundamental shift in their identity hasn't occurred. Despiterepeated warnings fromthe U.S. regarding the long-term consequences of these open-door policies. The biggest fear is the nuclear arsenal of UK/FRANCE handled by jehadi politicians. That scenario will be an absolute nightmare!

The demographic shift across the continent is staggering. In 1950, Europe’s population was approximately 550 million, with less than 2% identifying as Muslim or Hindu.By2024,thatpopulation had grown to 750 million, with the Muslim share having increased spectacularly to over 10%.

Thousands of new mosques are testimonytotherapidgrowth ofthe Muslim community. While these figures may seem manageable on paper, therealityontheground as seen in the recent Gorton and Denton, UK by-election reveals a troubling newpolitical dynamic. In that election, the Green Party’s Hannah Spencer overturned a massive Labour majority. Many are

expressing deep concern, including Reform UK candidate Matt Goodwin(who came 2nd in the race), who attributed the win to 'sectarianism' and a 'coalition of Islamists.' This is the new reality: Islamic voting blocs are now powerful enough to force candidates to prioritize their religious demands—such as halal mandates or Shariat-influenced legal and educational changes— over the severe backlash of the native populace. But for the candidate, native Englishmen seem to be non-existent! In Gorton and Denton, where 10% of the population wasborninPakistan, out of the 14 wards, ten had over 20% of their residents were Muslims; in one ward, Longsight, this figure reached 48%! This win by the Greens with overwhelming Muslim support istakenasatemplate which is being repeated across the EU. When political parties begin tailoring their campaigns to Islamists or Hindus rather than the nation, the very foundation of Western democracy & thereby Christian civilization begins to crumble, serving asagrim realityof the potential consequences when

the impact of mass Islamic/Hindu immigration. Wehave seenthe fate of the great & beautiful EU city of Constantinople, which Muslim rulers turned into Istanbul. & its signature church, Hagia Sophia, became amosque. This influence isn't just theoretical; it’s spilling onto the streets. During the recent Gaza/Iran crisis, major European cities saw daily disruptions to traffic, sports, and cultural events by those sympathizing with Hamas, Hezbollah & Houthis linked to the October 7, 2023 & 100s more atrocities. Incredibly, these protests were directed not at the terrorist Hamas, which took 251 hostages, but at the nation seeking their return! Even more shocking is the response from Western leaders. Take the case of Australia, Prime Minister AnthonyAlbanese's muted response to the horrific December 2025 Bondi Beach Islamic attacks, where Islamists targeted a Jewish festival.AcrosstheWest, thepattern is the same:leftist governments are increasingly surrendering to Islamic extremist pressures in a desperate attempt to placate them to stay in power. In the EU/UK/Australia, the

governments look like it has the power, but real power seems to be with Islamists & their fanatic ideology.

For those still in denial about the gravity of the situation, one must look at the fate of the Yazidis. In August 2014, ISIS launched a systematic campaign of genocide against this minority (mostly Christians) in Iraq, Syria, Jordan & Lebanon. Men and older boys who refused forced conversion were executed en masse—often beheaded in front of their own families. What followed was one of the most heinous acts of our time: the systematic sexual enslavement of roughly 7,000 women and children.

But that is part of a real story. In a terrifying twist of fate, many Yazidi survivors who fled to Europe for safety have reported seeing these very same Islamic terrorists walking freely in cities like Stuttgart, Brussels, London, and Paris. Yazidi survivors claim there are 1000s of Islamist-criminals roaming freelyon European streets, having entered underthe guise of 'refugees.' These perpetrators take advantage of the same liberal laws, welfare schemes,

and porous borders that their victims relied on for survival. If you believe these threats are limited to foreign battlefields, consider the domestic reality. For decades, the British establishment turned a blind eye to the mass exploitation of thousands ofEnglishgirls byIslamic gangs networks of men predominantly of Pakistani-Muslim heritage.fearofappearing'racist,'& blind political correctness allowed these Islamic predators to target vulnerable children with impunity. The betrayal of the Yazidis finds a haunting parallel in the fate of Christian villages across Syria. For generations, these communities livedinwhatappeared tobeperfect harmony. Inonesuchvillage, where Christians made up roughly 10% of the population, neighbors celebrated each other’s holidays Christmas andEidwere sharedjoys. There were no communal clashes. Then, ISIS arrived. Overnight, the very neighbors who had been so 'neighborly' underwent a vicious transformation. Those who had shared meals with their Christian friends suddenly turned on them, looting their homes and participating in their executions.

This horizontal betrayal neighbor against neighbor reveals a terrifying truth: when a fanatic ideology takes hold, decades of peaceful coexistence can be discarded in a single night. It suggests thatthe 'tolerance' we see onthesurfacemayonlylastaslong as the rule of law remains unchallenged.

In2023alone,policeinEnglandand Wales recorded over 7,000 sexual offenses by Islamic migrants; they wereactingworsethananimals. The UK's Starmer government, wary of losing Muslim votes, is indulging in the most shameful cover-up. A progressive media apparatus enabled it. Outlets like the BBC and Sky News have been accused of a 'conspiracy of silence,'preferring to protect a sanitized model of multiculturalism rather than confront the ethnic profiles of the abusers. In one of his famous story writer Salinger writes, "We're all animals, basically,we'reallanimals." By inviting Islamic immigrants in millions, theEUisturningintoabad land. Consider a harrowing incident in the UK: two Afghan asylum seekers abducted and raped a teenage girl in a public park. A

defense attorney cited 'cultural differences' asa mitigating factor an argument that highlights the staggering absurdity of the current UK/EU judicial climate. This case provides a chilling glimpse into a twisted mentality that some migrants bring with them, and the dangerously soft approach of a government and judiciary that seems more concerned with 'cultural sensitivity' than with the absolute protection of its own citizens.Byaimingatracialdiversity, what UK/EU politicians have achieved so far is bringing in millionsofcriminals, radicals&drug traffickers. Causing a grave danger tonativeChristians. It'simportant to note that many political parties do oppose ‘open-door’ policies & the danger posed by them. UK’s Nigel, Frances Marien Le, Germanys Alice, Hungary's Victor, & Italy's Georgia Meloni do offerpushback. Andhad limitedsuccess.Butthepropaganda machinery of the far left is so effectivethatthosewhooppose are attacked&theirfinancesblockedor even imprisoned for one reason or another.

One might ask: why should an Indian Christian care about the rise

of Islam in the EU? The answer is foundational aswellasourfuturein India, which is increasingly becomingdifficult.Wearetheliving legacy of Europe’s spiritual and intellectual labor. For centuries, missionaries from Europe driven by the same spirit that built great schools, colleges, hospitals, andold age homes that define our community today. From theVatican & its 100’s of saints like Antony, Francis, or Teresa, scientists like Newton,Pasteur,Faradayandartists like Michelangelo, or writers like Shakespeare the very pillars of modern civilizationandourfaithare essentiallyEuropean andChristian. Important to note, we are NOT migrants; India is the land of our birthandthelandofourforefathers. We’ve adapted to local culture in our life & liturgy. In our churches mass conducted in the local language, our festivals & functions closely mimic local traditions. Many ofourchurchesevenhaveflagposts (like Hindu temples) etc. ourhymns are very much local. So, we must address the political gimmickry at home.Whenmilitantgroupslikethe RSS and their political outfit, the BJP,cry'HinduKhatreMein'(Hindus

in danger) & draconian anticonversion laws to target our 2% minority, we must recognize how theyoperate. The RSSrarelyactsby itself; instead, it creates the ideological space and provides a legal and political umbrella for its various militia groups, such as the Bajrang Dal, VHP, Sri Ram Sene, Karni Sena, & 100s of others. In 1900, Hindus were roughly 80% of the population; in 2000, they were 80%; and in 2026, they remain roughly 80%. & likely to remain so for at least centuries to come! To suggest that a community of 1.15 billion isunderan'existentialthreat' from a tiny, steadily declining Christian minority is a statistical absurdity. Since 1990, attacks on Christians haverisen steadily from the 2008 church attacks in Mangalore to the ethnic cleansing in Kandhamal and the more recent, systematic violence inManipur. Itis a calculated ploy to consolidate HinduvotesandmaintainRSSproxy rule until the people realize they have been played the same tactic employed by Hitler when he targeted the Jewish minority. As Europe turnsawayfrom its heritage and toward an Islamist future, the

impact on Indian Christians is catastrophic. We are already witnessing increased attacks on our churchesandinstitutions, alongside documented attempts at ethnic cleansing. From Uttar Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh and into Manipur, thousands ofincidentsclearlysignal that we are no longer safe. In its March 2026 AnnualReport, the U.S. The Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) took the unprecedented step of calling for targeted sanctions against the RSS and its leadership, citing their 'responsibility for severe violations of religious freedom.' Curiously, it usednearlyidenticalobservations in the case of the Taliban, Hamas, or Boko Haram.

With nearly 90,000 shakhas (branches) across India, the RSS operates roughly 13,000 schools and, through its subsidiary, the BJP, it controls the media. It has a presence in39countries worldwide, with the United States being one of its key locations. Intotal, the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), the international wing of the RSS, operates in156 countries, including the US, where it has nearly 220 branches. Around 13 million (1.3

crore)IndiansliveintheUS,Canada, theEU,andAustralia,andatleast10 million of them are Hindus. Most NRI Hindus belong to upper-caste, well-to-do families with good education. The RSS (HSS) targets these Hindus and manages to collect vast funds for its operations inIndia.ItisironicthatwhiletheRSS in India openly attacks Christians andMuslimswithnofearoflaw, itis more than happy to receive funds from Hindus or anyone residing in those very same Christian-majority countries or from Muslim Middle East. It talks on Hindu unity, but when you look closely, it's an organisation by the upper caste brahmins forthe upper caste. Most Hindus neverget agood education ora chancetogoabroad & are fed with superstition & hatred towards minorities. To do that, they have a whole armyofgurus/babas &sants. Some babas have lakhs offollowers & business empires managing 1000s of crores, which becomes handy during elections. Their political proximity to BJP ensures that any crime they commit will be erased or invite much softer handling.

TheRSSoperates with asingular,

chillingmotive:theestablishment of an absolute Hindu authoritarian Brahmin rule where its chief serves asaspiritual 'Ayatollah'figure.Their goal is to replace the democratic Constitution with theManusmriti a legal code that functions much like a Hindu version of Shariat. Under this vision, all minorities are relegated to second-class status, treated effectivelyas 'Kafirs'in their own homeland. signalling that the 'Hinduindanger'narrative isamask for a much darker, supremacist ambition. Thetragedyisthatweare losing a once-great ally—a Europe that could have exerted the necessary diplomatic pressure on Indianrulerstoreininthesemilitant groups. The crisis is two-fold: while we lose the protection of a strong European ally, the RSS can—and will point to an increasingly Islamic EU to justify its own radical agenda at home. They use the collapse of European secularism as a pretext to tighten the noose around minorities in India. Either way, we Christians face deeply uncertain times, where our very security, our heritage, and our very existence arenowinquestion. ****
