FORD SA motivates its community FORD SA donates two new bakkies to gert sibande tvet college

G

ert Sibande TVET College received two new Ford bakkies as a donation from FORD SA. FORD SA is partnering with selected TVET Colleges in an effort to help colleges in their quest to provide relevant and responsive training that will meet the expectations of employers.

Gert Sibande College is grateful to FORD SA for this generous donation. The two vehicles have a combined value of approximately half a million rands. They have been donated for the sole purpose of being used for practical training by the automotive students of the college. Partnerships between the private sector and TVET colleges are mooted as

essential for colleges to produce high-quality graduates for the skills demands of South Africa. Ms Hester van Zyl expressed her delight at the donation and is confident that the automotive students in Evander will benefit greatly from doing their practical training on these state of the art vehicles.

The officials wanted to know what the bags had and who they belong to, “Suspect who was driving the vehicle confessed that the bags contained dagga belonged to him and his friend. He further revealed that they had just bought dagga from the third suspect, Mamba and that he was escorting them out of the area when the police stopped them. They also informed the police that they were transporting the dagga to Fochville where it sells like hot cakes and that they definitely were going to make a good profit. The trio was then arrested and their vehicle was also seized and has been safely kept at a police station. Ms Hester Van Zyl receives the two bakkies from Ford SA.

Wards To Be Contested In Municipal By-elections On 9 November 2016

Remember that according to Emerson, a person is what he / she thinks about all day. Thinking alone is not enough. Follow up with focused, determined and persistent actions and Affirmations.

Mixed emotions will cause you to stumble and fall. You need a clear vision. As clear as sun shine after rain. Prepare for the tool that I promised you. It's coming to you today. Recently I was contacted by a very successful Internet marketer who asked me what I would suggest to someone who wanted to create a cultlike following. This is right down my ally so I gave him some very good advice that he couldn't wait to put into action but the question got me thinking. What steps are there for anyone who wants people to want his/her attention and wisdom? The result are 10 ways to build a cult-like following. Of course each one of them could be a book in itself but here goes. 1. Initiation vs. Instruction There is a marked difference between learning by

instruction and learning by initiation. Most people give instruction. This is nothing more than stating facts and teach processes. Any good teacher does that as well as most bad ones. Learning by initiation is about creating an experience that makes the learning personal and visceral to the student. A good example of that is the 1984 movie “The Karate Kid” . On the one hand you have the macho western karate instructor who taught his students by instruction in a skill 'n' drill process. On the other hand you have the character played by Pat Marito who says that he will teach Ralph Macchios' character karate in exchange for doing chores. But the chores must be done in a certain way “This way wax on. This way wax off.” Adios

n terms of the Constitutional Court ruling of 14 June 2016, the Electoral Commission is required to implement Section 16 (3) of the Electoral Act, which requires that voters' rolls should contain the address of voters “where available”, for all by-elections following the 2016 Municipal Elections. The Electoral Commission will therefore be urging registered voters to ensure their addresses are available and up to date in the coming week via SMS, pamphlet drops and outreach activities in the affected wards. All voting stations in the affected wards will be open this weekend Saturday 17 September and Sunday 18 September from 08h00 to 17h00 to allow voters the opportunity to verify and update their registration and address details. Voters may also check and update their details at their local IEC office during office hours. Special voting at voting stations as well as home visits will take place on 8 November 2016 between 08h00 and 17h00. Voters interested in casting a special vote can apply at their local IEC office during office hours from 24 to 28

Restoring dignity through sanitary towels

Goodwill Thomo

The Gift of Love Project driven by Telekinesis Studios tackled the plight of impoverished girls who often miss school during their menstrual cycles due to the lack of sanitary towels The ground breaking outreach programme instilled a culture of compassion with humility by lending a helping hand to scores of young girls at Lindile High School and BuhleBolwazi high School last week. The project provided sanitary towels, dignity and a better education to young school girls to ensure access to much needed sanitary towels and the development and growth of young women with dignity. The excitement was palpable when the project touched the

lives of more than 100 girls by distributing packets of sanitary towels at their schools to ensure they overcome menstrual related challenges. In 2014 Telekinesis Studios and Gift of love project Cofounder Lindokuhle Mkhaliphi was approached by schools out of Ermelo and community centers to lend a helping hand to eradicate the scourge of being without sanitary towels . Mkhaliphi with her partner NontokozoNkosi raced against time and left no stone unturned in a quest to make the young school girls dream come to light. The duo hosted the Annual Miss Golden Quuen , sponsored by Golden Rush Ermelo which raised enough funds and sanitary towels to sponsor 250

girls throughout the year. The entry to the beauty pageant was dropping off a sanitary pad at the doorstep to donate to various schools and community centres. "There is no tool more effective for development more than the development of women ,so empower a women empower a nation" says LindokuhleMkhaliphi Co-founder According to a research school gilrs use rags as alternatives causing the contraction of menstrual diseases this stigma results in absconding school annually due to the lack of access to adequate sanitary pads .The outreach programme continues to break the chain of poverty, teenage pregnancy and social ills.

"We are very grateful for such a tremendous gesture ,as highlighted lack of sanitary pads continues to be a taboo subject thanks to the Gift Of Love Project and Telekinesis Studios for their eye opening experience to demystify all menstrual related myths and lending a helping hand to ensure that we stay at school "Says MbaliNkosi Learner at Lindile High School

more dignity ,health and safety through quality sanitary towels products. They firmly believe that access to quality feminine hygiene and vital health can eradicate challenges young women encounter when they are deer in the headlights. "We would like to thank the community of Msukaligwa

Municipality for their unparalleled contribution and to our biggest sponsor Telekinesis Studios owned by ThabisoMkhaliphi " Says NontokozoNkosi The project is a recurring off to donate sanitary pads please contact LindokuhleMkhaliphi on 072 653 0823

The phenomenal women's were inspired to believe that through common human effort ,injustice can be overcome and that together a better life for all can be achieved. LOVE LESSONS FROM MATHS Math tells us three of the saddnest love stories: 1)TANGENT lines are those who had one chance to meet and then parted forever. 2)PARALLEL lines are those who were never meant to meet. 3)ASYMPTOTES are those who can get closer and closer but will never be together. While you will never know your parallel, are you a tangent or asymptote? LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP! A guy goes to the supermarket and notices an attractive woman waving at him. She says hello. slipping in and out A woman's husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months, yet she had stayed by his bedside every single day. One day, when he came to, he motioned for her to come nearer. As she sat by him, he whispered, eyes full of tears, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you stayed right here. When my health started failing, you were still by my side. You know what?" "What dear?" she asked gently, smiling as her heart began to fill with warmth. ”I think you're bad luck." Two cowboys Two cowboys come upon an Indian lying on his stomach with his ear to the ground. One of the cowboys stops and says to the other, "You see that Indian?" "Yeah," says the other cowboy. "Look," says the first one, "he's listening to the ground. He can hear things for miles in any direction." Just then the Indian looks up. "Covered wagon," he says, "about two miles away. Have two horses, one brown, one white. Man, woman, child, household effects in wagon." "Incredible!" says the cowboy to his friend. "This Indian knows how far away they are, how many horses, what colour they are, who is in the wagon, and what is in the wagon. Amazing!" The Indian looks up and says, "Ran over me about a half hour ago." Send Jokes to: 084 335 6754

How Do We Discover Inner Happines Part2 Nonceba Xezu noncebaxezu@gmail.com FB-nonceba xezu cecilia TT - @noncebaxezu 076 126 3776

Live the Word Here are some of the ways our workshop participants discovered how to feel happy again: 1. Don’t take yourself too seriously. At times of hardship, such as loss or illness, it’s easy to lose your humor and even easier to get involved with the negative aspects of what is happening. Remembering not to take yourself too seriously brings a lightness and acceptance to the weight of circumstance around you. Don’t forget, angels can fly because they take themselves lightly!

2. Don’t identify with suffering, loss, or illness as being who you are. Many of our participants realized how they’d been identifying themselves as a cancer survivor/ widow/ recovering addict, or whatever it may be, but had not asked who they were without that label or identity. When you don’t identify with the negative issues, then who you really are has a chance to shine.

4. Make friends with yourself. Your relationship with yourself is the only one you have that lasts for the whole of your life, and you can be the greatest friend or the worst enemy to yourself. So it’s very important not to emotionally put down or beat yourself up. Just be kind.

5. Feel everything, whatever it may be. When you are suffering, it’s easy to want to deny or repress your 3. It’s OK to be you, just as you feelings, as they get huge and are, warts and all. How Blood Donors gave my baby girl, “ A Mother”. On the 12th of November 2014, I Lauren, was just 28 weeks pregnant when I visited my doctor with bad pains. Upon my arrival my blood pressure was very high I had to be admitted to hospital as my doctor explained I needed urgent bed rest or I might have my baby that night.

I

was praying I would just stay for a few nights as I was not ready to have a baby just yet and I hadn't had time to explain to my 4 year old daughter. When I got to the hospital the doctors immediately did some tests and found out that I had an infection and that my platelet count was low. Moments later the nurse came to me and said “Mrs Manto, you are having your baby tonight, but we just have to do the clotting test first. Once the results arrive we will be ready to deliver the baby.” The tests showed that my blood wouldn't clot and the nurse advised me that she would need to order blood urgently so I could deliver my baby safely. It was 4PM when I asked the nurse when the blood will arrive. She looked at me and said it could come anytime maybe in 3 to 4 hours' time or maybe tomorrow morning.

When I awoke, I could see a bright light and figure coming closer to me. I first thought I had died and it must be Jesus, but it was my husband Luke with happiness on his face as our little baby was born at 1.228kgs. My experience made me realise just how important it is to donate blood and what a big difference it made to my life and to that of my new born baby girl. To all the life savers who donate blood so unselfishly so that people like me and their new born babies have a chance to survive, I say a HUGE “Thank you” from the bottom of my heart. I encourage you to continue so that we always have a safe supply available for others who may need it or you made need it yourself one day. Ermelo Donor centre situated on 10 Church street, Ermelo (opposite Midway Fruit & Veg) is open Mon – Fri 09:00 – 17:00, Wed 11:00 – 18:00, Sat 09:00 – 13:00 Or contact us on 017 811 2631 to find out where and when our Mobile blood drive will be taking place near you.

The blood eventually arrived just after 8PM, I said goodbye to my family and was taken off to theatre. I was scared and Luke my husband was not allowed to come into the theatre, then I don't remember anything.
