Engineerex is undertaking a process of developing a Resource Management Plan for the Nooitgedacht Dam in Mpumalanga Province within the Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality located in the Gert Sibande District Municipality. The Dam is situated within the Nooitgedacht Nature Reserve at coordinates 25°58'46.02”S 30°4'11.35”E under Ward 21. The primary purpose of the dam is mainly for Irrigation, Industrial and Domestic Utilization, the activities currently taking place on and around the dam have been identified as follows; nature trails, nature reserve, fishing, bird watching and mountain biking.

The RMP process is designed to address resource management, community beneficiation and industry transformation simultaneously and also to attain the objectives in accordance of section (2) of the National Water Act, (Act No. 36 of 1998). The Minister of Water Affairs through the Department of Water Affairs (DWA) is the custodian of the National Water Resources and has the ultimate responsibility to ensure that the water resources are Used, Developed, Managed, Protected and Controlled in a sustainable and efficient manner for the benefit of each person.

In order to achieve sustainability regarding the use of water for recreational purposes DWA recognises the importance of Planning as a process that enables all stakeholders the opportunity to participate in the compilation of plans which affect the water resources within their community.

Ncwana kept the audience on their feet with his dance moves Govan Mbeki Arts and Culture Forum, the festival was headlined by local artists such as ZoliswaDelihlazo, MapuleMolefe, Heartout Network, Sweet Melody Boyd Choir, Emba Sweet Melodies, Qabso Mass Choir, Kinross Spiritual Group, Mapule, Barunyoa St Moses and Power of Praise.

These artists shared the stage withNcwane and in the process they were able to glean a thing or two about the music industry and how to hold a crowd.

According to the forum's head, Lebo Molomo, the festival was a success and the support from the community was encouraging.

“As a forum we are committed to promoting and supporting the talents of our young people and we are grateful for the support we get from the public and other stakeholders, whose contribution will go along way in ensuring that the forum is a success.”

She says they will use the proceeds raised during the festival to reach more young people in all corners of Govan Mbeki and groom them in their craft to enable them to reach new heights.

WHAT A COME BACK FOR MAFIKIZOLO Eight is enough for Mafikizolo as they clean up at SAMA 20 Mafikizolo sealed their comeback in triumphant style at the 20th Annual South African Music Awards – winning five awards at the main ceremony on Monday night to add to their three trophies at the industry awards earlier in the day.

This brings the popular Afro-pop duo's total haul to an incredible eight awards at SAMA 20.

They scooped an armful of trophies for Album of the Year, Duo or Group of the Year, Best Pop Album, Best Collaboration, Best Selling Ring-back Tone, Best Selling Full-track Download and Best Selling Mobile Music Download of the Year.

And in the most hotly contested category of the night, the Kia Record of the Year, Mafikizolo featuring Uhuru beat out stiff competition to win the public SMS vote for their mammoth hit song Khona The star-studded event at the Sun City Superbowl marked 20 years of the SAMAs – held, fittingly, on the Freedom Day public holiday commemorating the country's 20th anniversary of democracy – and saw the beautiful and talented people of Mzansi coming out to play in their glad rags, to celebrate SA music's finest. The main awards were broadcast live on SABC1.

A number of sizzling live performances and on-stage collaborations set the tone for an evening filled with drama, tears, joy and – no doubt – a few surprises. Presenters and performers stepped out in style at the awards, dressed by top local designers Anel Botha, David Tlale, Khathatso Tsotetsi, Paledi Segapo and Zano Sithetho.

With Mafikizolo dominating SAMA 20 with a near slam-dunk of the main categories, the remainder of the awards doled out on the night reflected a spread of winners. Only a handful of artists made the journey home from Sun City with more than one trophy in

tow.

Bagging a brace of awards was songstress Zahara, who was crowned Female Artist of the Year for Phendula, which was also named the Best Selling Album of last year.

Last year's Standard Bank Young Artist for Jazz, Shane Cooper, left no one in any doubt about his prowess by securing the SAMA for Best Jazz Album.

Fellow Eastern Cape songbird Zonke added to her Best Live DVD SAMA (at the industry awards earlier in the day) with the accolade for Best African Adult Album, for Give and Take Live.

And Ladysmith Black Mambazo not only received a SAMA Lifetime Achievement Award on the night – our kings of isicathamiya music also had the International Achievement Award bestowed on them, for their four Grammy Awards and their ongoing role as global ambassadors for traditional South African music.

Maskandi stalwart Phuzekhemisi also received a SAMA Lifetime Achievement Award for his exceptional contribution to the richness and diversity of the local music scene.

Kabomo was named Male Artist of the Year for his release Memory Remains, with Naima Kay snatching the award for Newcomer of the Year from a very talented young field.

As many had expected, Mi Casa's Su Casa bagged the gong for Best Dance Album, with Big Nuz scoring Best Kwaito Album honours and Xhosa rapper iFani winning the SAMA for Best Rap Album.

Another closely contested race saw Van Coke Cartel walking off with the honours for Best Rock Album.

It was a good night for Karlien van Jaarsveld, whose Uitklophou snared the award for Beste Pop Album (Afrikaans). Elvis Blue took home his second SAMA in two years – this time for Beste Kontemporêre Musiek Album, for his release Afrikaans, while Shaun Jacobs' album Love Can triumphed in the Best Adult Contemporary

Thokozani Langa was named the victor in the Best Maskandi Album category. And living gospel legend Rebecca continued her reign at the awards, adding the trophy for Best Traditional Faith Album to the dozen-plus SAMAs she already has adorning her mantelpiece.

It was an exceptional night on which South African music was the big winner, and the countdown has already begun to SAMA 21 – when the awards truly come of age!

Lindi Masina, the Executive Mayor of the Govan Mbeki Municipality My name is Lindi Masina, the Executive Mayor of the Govan Mbeki Municipality. I was elected during the 2011 Local Government Elections together with other councillors.

Immediately after our assumption of office, we dubbed the new political term of office as the Dawn of the New Age because we had a vision of transforming the institution into a well-oiled machine through doing things in a different way.

SADTU since 1996 wherein I served at the branch level in different portfolios since then until 2002. During the year 2005 I was elected as Regional Gender Convener of the Southern Highveld Region where SADTU since 1996 wherein I served at the branch level in different portfolios since then until 2002.

During my time as a SADTU member, I also served in the COSATU local as a member.

The new Administration in the Govan Mbeki Municipality has invited all the people of this area to join us in making this place a better community to live in.

This message was aptly captured in my Maiden Speech titled The Dawn of the New Age. This speech captures my vision for the municipality. We want to make this municipality a Model City and Centre of Excellence whereby service delivery is enhanced

My political deployment: In 2006, I was deployed as PR Councilor in the Govan Mbeki Municipality. I managed to establish the ANCWL branch in ward 28 for the first time during the year 2006 where I was elected as the Secretary of the ANCWL branch.

In 2007, I was elected as Deputy Chairperson of ward 28 and also as Chairperson of the ANC Women's League in ward 28. I am currently the Secretary of ward 28, the Nokuthula Simelane branch. I also serve in the RTT of the ANCWL in the Gert Sibande Region.
