Letter from our 2024 Board Chair
As the Chair of the Austin LGBT Chamber, it is my privilege to present the 2024 Impact Report, a testament to the strides we’ve made together over the past year. This report celebrates not only our achievements but the courage, innovation, and unity that drive our progress.
Membership Growth:
Our Chamber grew by 17% this year, reaching a vibrant total of more than 450 members, over half of which are small businesses. This expansion reflects the unwavering trust our community places in the Chamber to champion their interests, foster resilience, and create meaningful opportunities for success.
Expanding Community Impact:
In 2024, we brought our mission to life through 60+ dynamic events, including networking luncheons, happy hours, and landmark initiatives such as the DECA Small Business Summit and our continued partnership with SXSW. Events like the Pride in Local Music Festival and the Business of Pride Gala showcased the vibrancy of our community and reinforced our shared values of inclusivity and celebration.
Through our "Small Town, Big Pride" initiative, we extended our reach to Taylor and Lockhart, establishing meaningful regional partnerships that deepen our commitment to Central Texas. Meanwhile, our first-ever intercity trip to Dublin, Ireland, demonstrated the global impact of our advocacy and opened new avenues for collaboration on an international scale. These efforts strengthened our local connections while elevating our visibility on national and global stages.
Advocacy and Equity:
This year marked the launch of the REED Plan in collaboration with DECA — a groundbreaking step
toward regional equity in economic development. This initiative ensures that our diverse membership can thrive within an inclusive and resilient economic landscape.
While we celebrated milestones, we also faced significant challenges. The rise in anti-LGBTQ legislation required us to stand firm in our advocacy, ensuring that the rights and dignity of our community remain protected. Our work in legislative chambers and alliances with advocacy groups fortified our resolve to create spaces where every individual can live authentically and thrive.
Looking Ahead:
As we look to the future, the Austin LGBT Chamber remains committed to fostering courage, creativity, and unity. The momentum we’ve built this year positions us for even greater impact in the years ahead and against the challenges we are sure to face. Together, we will continue to break barriers, push boundaries, and transform Texas into a place of opportunity and inclusion for all.
Thank you for your unwavering trust and support. Together, we are creating a Texas for ALL Texans.

In Pride, Andrew Peters
2024 Board Chair

Diversity Ethnic Chamber Alliance
The Diversity and Ethnic Chamber Alliance (DECA) is a historic partnership comprised of the Austin LGBT, Greater Austin Asian, Greater Austin Black, and Greater Austin Hispanic Chambers of Commerce.

DECA's Second Annual Small Business Opportunity Summit
In August, DECA held their second Small Business Opportunity Summit. Attendees learned from experts about access to capital, certification and procurement, workforce develpment, advocacy, & more.

REED Plan
In 2024, DECA launched the Regional Economic Equity Development (REED) Plan. The REED Plan is a one-of-a-kind model setting a new national standard of community collaboration to impact opportunities for minority businesses and workforce.
While Austin continues to benefit economically, DECA will work to ensure that this prosperity is distributed more equally and that economic opportunity is within reach for everyone in the Austin community, regardless of their ethnicity, sexuality or socio-economic standing.
$1 Million Loan Fund
DECA was thrilled to announce the launch of a new $1 million capital loan pool in 2024, in partnership with BCL of Texas, and made possible by the generous support of the Wells Fargo Foundation.

Advocacy
In Nov. 2024, DECA proudly supported the Travis County Tax Rate Elections for Childcare. DECA recognizes that access to affordable quality childcare is a fundamental economic pillar for any thriving city.

Doing business Internationally:
DECA’s Intercity Trip to Dublin, Ireland in March of 2024 was nothing short of phenomenal, and it's all thanks to the unwavering commitment and stellar participation from our sponsors and attendees.
Attendees included local leaders, small business owners, corporate executives/ representatives, and more.
