THE POWER of science is all
around us. Science directly impacts how we all travel, are entertained, communicate with one another or prepare dinner. Scientific innovations have transformed our community. It has brought us new forms of energy, delivered water from the mountains to our facets, improved our public safety and revolutionized our national defense. Aurora's history is tied to the history of science and technology. This exhibit will explore 20th century technologies housed in our museum collection, as well as, feature the industries in our community at the cutting-edge of new and exciting sciences.
A lot has changed in Aurora since it was incorporated as the town of Fletcher in 1891. Included among those changes is transportation technology. Planes, trains and automobiles have replaced the horse drawn roots of Aurora's past.
When did you first use a computer? The drastic changes in technology can be explored via many different mediums. The historical changes in computer technology is but one of many science-driven topics explored in this exhibit.
