Ages 8 & older This class is conducted by Mr. Jesse Bernal, Anti-bullying expert and co-author of the Amazon bestselling book, BULLYPROOF: Unleash the Hero Inside Your Kid, Volume 3. Subjects covered will include the bullying cycle, psychology of the bully, so kids can understand it and the necessary skills to become bully proof. EGG DROP CHALLENGE
Ages 6-10 For this after-school program, kids will be engineering a contraption to hold an egg that will be dropped at an elevated level. Kids will get up to three tries to create a contraption that will handle the fall so the egg won’t break. BALLOON HOVERCRAFT
Ages 6-10 For this after-school program, kids will be creating a balloon hovercraft. Once the hovercraft is constructed, kids will lead navigate the craft through an obstacle course. Ages 6-10 For this after-school program, participants will learn the fundamentals of hockey in an indoor setting. MIDDLE SCHOOL MADNESS
Ages 11-13 Middle School MADness is created for youth in grades 6-8. SNOWSHOEING
Ages 11-17 Learn the basics of snowshoeing and get out in the mountains. In this course, participants will learn how to size snowshoes, size trekking poles and the basic techniques of snowshoeing. Based on conditions, participants will head to Lost Lake Trail near Nederland or Golden Gate Canyon in Golden. ICE CLIMBING
Ages 13-17 Try the extreme sport of Ice Climbing. In this course, participants will learn the basics and techniques of ice climbing in a fun and SAFE environment. We will be traveling to the Boy Scout Camp Alexander where their staff will provide instruction on how to ice climb as well as facilitate climbing at their man-made ice wall. Participants will learn about gear, types of climbing as well as beginner belaying techniques. SKIING
Ages 11-17 Let’s go skiing (or snowboarding)! Participants will be receiving transportation to Loveland Ski Area for a day full of snow and hurling down a mountain. We will leave Central Recreation Center at 7 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. This only includes transportation. Participants will be required to provide their own skies (prior to leaving for Loveland) and their own lift tickets. We will provide lunch and snacks.
