Phi Gamma Delta was founded nationally in 1848 and their Auburn chapter, Alpha Upsilon, was founded in 1962. Their current president is Joe Tarwater.
This past ye ar, Fijis hosted the 2nd annual Phi Garn Open golf tournament benefiting East Alabama Medical Center's prostate cancer program; this spring they will be holding their 3rd tournament. Also, to benefit the community, many Fijis participate in IMPACT.
Fiji members also participate in SGA Senate, IFC, Greek Week, War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen, Campus Crusade, COSAM Leaders, Study Partners, Tiger Hosts, Beta Alpha Psi honor fraternity, Lambda Sigma national honor society, Omicron Delta Kappa honor society, Cardinal Key, Mocha Club, Cheerleading, and Young Life.
To promote their brotherhood they, celebrate Norris Pig Dinner every ye ar, which brings together current members with graduates. This year was the 50th anniversary of the chapter and they celebrated it in the Auburn Arena. They also hosted the Peach Basket Basketball Tournament to promote athletic competition within the fraternity.
