Carpe diem! (Seize the dayl) These four years of college are but a blink in the eyes of eternity. Therefore, the brothers of Phi Gamma Delta wasted no time in striving for excellence the past year. They channeled their talents and efforts toward academics, athletics, camp us involvement and building friendships.
The fraternity continued to maintain high academic standards, finishing its thirtieth consecutive year above the All-Men's CPA, and ranking either first or second in fraternity schola rship for the past eight years. Putting the books
aside, many brothers of Phi Gamma Delta were involved with campus organizations such as SGA, IFC, UPC, Plainsmen, Spades and a host of other clubs and honoraries. Another area in which they channeled their time was intramurals. Because of their efforts, they were rewarded with the All-Sports Trophy for the past three years. They also planned many social activities on their calendar. In the fall they had their weekly home-game parties as well as socials with sororities each quarter. During winter quarter, they held their
Winter Formal in a resort in the Carolinas and also celebrated their annual Burn the House Down Party, which helped to liven up the placid winter season. Socially, spring was their busiest time of the year. This was the time for construction of Fiji Island, the party of the year, as well as their Happy Birthday Hawaii Party.
Academics, athletiCS, campus involvement and social activities were extremely important, but most important was their unity which acted as a catalyst for their chapter's strength and stamina
