The fraternity continued to maintain high academic goals, complellng its 27th year as one of the leaders among the All Men's GPA. Phi Gamma Delta included many of Auburn's most active student leaders with memo bers in SGA, UPC, IFC, Plains· man, Spades and a host of other clubs and honoraries on campus Fiji also finished a year of athletic excellence, ranking them as one of the toughest competitors
Adding to outstanding
achievements, Fiji also boasted an extensive calender of social events. Winter Formal was held in Savannah, Ga during January and Burn the House Down party also relieved the blahs of winter weekends. In the Spring. the fra· ternity enjoyed constructing its renouned Fiji Island as well as hosting Happy Birthday Hawaii. President Richard Hare felt " the new fraternity house, the achievements and social activites were all a part of Alpha Upsilon. These were but outward reflections of our main goal of unity and strength which tied us together , Alpha Upsilon continued in rich tradition." O Heather Peterson
