Phi Gamma Delta was founded May 1, 1848, for the promotion of brotherhood, scholarship, and service. The "Fiji's" were chartered at Auburn in 1962.
Numerous social highlights included the Black Diamond Formal, Fiji Island Party, "Fiji Florida Fling," and Mis.s Rat Hat Contest.
Brothers participated in varsity basketball, tenni , and track, Band and the Greeks staff, and held such Student Government positions as Treasurer of the Student Body, Busines.s Manager of the Glo merata, and President of the IFC.
Honoraries included Phi Eta Sigma, Spades, ODK, Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, Phi Kappa, Phi Psi, Squires, Eta Kappa Nu, Steerage, and Scabbard and Blade.
Fiji's received honorable ·mention for Homecoming decoration and their Pledge clas.s won second place in the Wreck Tech Parade.
Outstanding Alumni include Calvin Coolidge, Thomas Riley Marshall, Dr. Norman Vincent Peal, Johnny Carson, the Brothers Four, Gene Ceman, and Dr. Ralph Brown Draughon.
