An Inspiration Message On Moving Forward

We may not have been responsible for the hurt that came from our past or the ugly experiences of yesterday but surely we can do something this second that would change the cause of our lives forever as we see in king David, He encouraged himself in the Lord his God, when it seemed to man that all hope was gone, he pursued, overtook and recovered all that was

lost. David could have sulked like the rest, but He knew as the king and as a leader that sulking won’t help in this situation so he encouraged himself in the Lord. So many things could have gone wrong, which totally may be or may not be our fault or caused by our actions but it doesn’t stop us from being hurt because of the ugly incidents of the past, because of the things

that are done by people in our lives, yes we still get hurt anyways. One thing is sure, all things work together for good to them that love God, so encourage yourself today because when you do so, strength will come from within you, your mind becomes clear, ideas and inspirations starts welling up from within your heart there and then you will instantly feel refreshed and confident to tackle the situation and change

things for your good. But it all begins with encouraging yourself in the Lord your God as David did. Moving forward must be the only focus you should work towards consciously because when the Lord turned the captivity of Zion we were like them that dream. This should give you hope because you can rest assured that there must be light at the end of the tunnel as you keep pressing forward towards the mark of the prize. A thing of note is that we must not let our present conditions define who we really are but it should prepare us for a greater future because having learned from the experiences of yesterdays and have obtained wisdom to thrive for tomorrow. In moving forward, we must learn to accept, adapt to the realities on the ground and draw inspiration from the soul and keep on going moving forward towards a better tomorrow. When moving forward, it is important to ask yourself what forms your beliefs and do well to answer that question as honest as you can because your beliefs play a very important role in your life as it has a way of affecting or controlling the things that happen around you. Moving forward requires making new choices and making new choices also requires courage and discipline to stake your life on your claims and

belief. Begin to define who you are with the decisions or choices you going to be making as regards moving forward. Learn not to rely on how well you can think through a problem or challenge but depend learn to trust on the wisdom of God to guide you through this phase as it is written; casting all your cares upon Him for he cares for you and shut the door against fear because fear has torment. Fear definitely has the ability to perpetually put you down. Learn to trust your God-given abilities to conquer your world because God made man and gave him dominion over life itself. There are three things that if you can successfully do will help you find the inspiration to really break the setbacks of the past and move forward and to live the life that you have always dreamed about. in the right and forward direction? Search out your soul and pay attention to the things that you are so passionate about, the little things that you love so much which you can give the world to protect. The things that inspire you are very important on your quest in moving forward despite the unfortunate things that have happened because as you press to do those things you love, the less grip the events of the past has on you. Get inspired by yourself and press till you have achieved and fulfilled all your dreams. Understand what is holding you back In the attempt to move forward one must be conscious and alive to the fact that there could be things that hinder growth. And if you do not know the attitude, character or lifestyle which hinders your progress then moving forward could be difficult. So the next thing to do after getting the inspiration to move forward is to find out what could possibly hold you back. One of the fundamental things that hold people back is fear. Remember that we do not have the spirit of fear, but of love and of a sound mind for fear has torment. Learn to deal or beat the fear because the fear that comes in different packages; fear for a change, fear to make certain decisions, fear of the unknown, etc. Beat fear today and move forward. progress and keep the dreams of the future right in front of you so that you will always be inspired from inside out. The future is so certain and tangible but it requires that you move forward only. Life experiences could be different for everyone but the lessons learned from the experiences are the same. Those things that have kept you back must have kept someone else down before but our approach to it is what really matters. We must not allow negative

Shawanna’s life... early on had many dark days since during her pre-teenage years she was molested and would hide behind food in an effort to appear more unattractive, hoping the abuse would stop. Weight gain, pregnancy, being a single parent, and the ups and downs of weight loss …created challenges with selfesteem and caused confidence issues. But that didn’t stop her. She realized that her journey and her struggles were bigger than just her. She learned the “POWER” to Putting herSELF first, to love and affirm herSELF and she began to put herSELF back on the list on her own life. Knowing she still had other responsibilities to other people who needed her care and encouragement. And despite my traumatic childhood I still felt that it was for a greater purpose. In this special “Empowerment Edition” I share some of what once “weighed” me down and how I moved beyond it. I knew that it was necessary to allow a glimpse into my past and peek at some of the pain points that help to propel me into the woman I am today. For me losing the physical weight had been and still is, a part of my life journey. I realized that at different stages of my life, I carried weight for multiple reasons. You see weight comes in many forms, it can be physical mental and sometimes even spiritual. By the age of 13, I had been molested by multiple people. I would hide behind food to appear more unattractive, hoping they wouldn’t try or want to touch me. ( or so I thought )So, my initial start in terms of physical weight loss wasn’t until my early twenties. At that time, I weighed 240 lbs and this was before I had my first c hild. I wore a size 20 at the height of 5’2″. I also experienced additional weight gain during my first pregnancy. I felt that life was going to be tougher than ever…being now a single parent and obese. So, psychologically I had a lot going on. Weight management for me wasn’t even a thought until after I had my sweet baby girl. And as life and time past, I would lose a little to gain some back… and then lose it again. How many know what that feels like? I have always been optimistic and kept the belief that our words have power, even when I wasn’t always speaking them to myself. I am a firm believer in affirming and declaring things over my life. #iAffirm. (meaning I declare) I now undoubtedly and undeniably do it for ME first. God second, because he gave me this temple my husband, my children and my family. Honestly, I know a large percentage of what we go through is so

What inspires me? Is knowing that I do truly want to live “Full” and die “Empty”. I made the decision! I understand the greater importance of Mindset . This time I started in my mind, coupled with much prayer and a lot of (out loud) self-talk. ( smile) I am an avid reader of empowerment stories and inspiring weight loss TV series. I listened to tons of motivational coaches and inspirational music. These things changed my lifestyle with the help of daily meditation and having a attitude of gratitude. I began taking multivitamins and cutting out meat certain days of the week and increasing my water intake, ate more fruits and vegetables. I also planned the occasional special event to motivate me further. LOL… much BIGGER than us and has to do with the lives of others as well. I must admit that I have been my own biggest and worst critic. However, I am one of my top encouragers as well. #POMPOM #iCheer4me I do a lot of self-talk and what comes with that is me realizing and knowing my beauty from the inside out. July 2018, I get to say…Happy 50 th birthday to me! I am a wife and mother of three beautiful children. So whatever season you are in, in life, I cheer for you to consider yourSELF FIRST. I know my worth and walk in the beauty and FREEDOM of simple being my authentic self. Once you can look at yourself in a full glass mirror embrace the flaws and all your life will never be the same. Reflecting on my childhood molestation and mental abuse, I know that it’s not even about me! What inspires me is that I know I can help someone else by sharing this portion of my life story. What inspires me? Is knowing some people need to hear what only I can say, which means have to share it! My WHY became BIGGER than my past.

In addition to incorporating cardio through walking and aerobic workouts. To continually motivate myself and others, I created on-line challenges. Publicly through social media (Facebook, Instagram) encouraged and invited people to join me for quarterly challenges that I posted daily during that time to stay motivated and be held accountable. From my early twenties to now, Shawanna Kennedy- a Fabulous flourishing 50 years young woman, I have lost more than 80 lbs . I am proud to say that I reached my personal goal of 160 pounds and counting. I’ve lost the physical weight and gained a more confident me with the right mindset and desire to continue to teach, empower, strengthen and inspire others to love themselves more and more from the inside out. Be ok to start saying no to others and start saying Yes to You! Remember it’s a choice and you GET to choose what’s best for you. It is about you! #iCheer4you #POMPOM

When defined, a diet suggests a special course of food to which one restricts oneself. But, on this journey why not DIE TO IT! Die to doubt. Die to excuses. Die to what commercialism says. Die to generational curses. Die to any and everything that blocks you and me. I have the determination to be positive and grateful for all that life has left for me to experience and embrace. Also, during this chapter of my journey, I founded a 501c3

nonprofit organization to assist youth and the young at heart who may suffer from low self-esteem or a lack of selfconfidence. Please click the link and DONATE today www. iaffirmimpactfoundation.org

If I could share a piece of advice: Do it for yourSELF first. I always think about my children, but it has to be about YOU. Mind, body, and spirit. Be sure to enjoy every small victory along the way. I use to be upset when I’d only see one pound in a week. I had to quickly shake it off, do a selfanalysis and ask mySELF what I did that week. ALWAYS be honest with yourself, talk it out, write it down, pray about it but get back up and MOVE to ACTION. Realize you are your only competition. Measure your own success. Remember, it’s a lifestyle. And… please STOP calling it a diet! I call it a “Live it!”, because “I am” not dying to do anything. I am going to LIVE! As a matter of fact, Live while I’m living. I am CONFIDENT of this . And as a SelfFirst advocate and is committed to helping men & women put themselves first on the list of their own lives. The

I empower people to recognize their own self-worth, and inspire a mindset shift which causes individuals to “Move into Action” to become more effective and efficient in their everyday life. Motivated to Move Motivation. What is motivation? Why do we need it? How do we get it and retain it? And why do some people seem to have it naturally while others don’t? Well, if I had perfect answers to those questions then I would have finished the book already. I believe, however, that inherent in each of us is the ability to achieve our greatest desire, see our biggest dream come to fruition, and attain to the highest goals we’ve set for our lives. We have unlimited potential on the inside of us that most have yet to tap into – we just need the right motivation to move! So, what is motivation? Motivation is the reason behind the things we do or say. It is the ambition, drive, and inspiration needed to do

something. For example, money is a huge motivator to work. But is money really the motivator? Perhaps. But if we look deeper we may see that there is another motivating factor behind money. We want to eat, have shelter, and live sustainably, so we work. Money is simply the mediator between work and sustenance. Each of us have motivating factors that cause us to achieve curtain goals in life. Hunger motivates eating, desire/need motivate relationships, purpose motivates passion, and so forth. The key to living a fulfilling, successful life is learning what motivates us. We are motivated at different times, by different, things, for different goals. Once we find what motivates us to achieve a particular goal, nothing can stop us from getting there!

What motivates YOU? Why do you get up early, take the long commute, run the extra mile, work the second job, etc.? I heard someone ask the question recently “what would you want people to say about you at your funeral? Now, roll that back all the way to today and start doing that!” Wow! That was very motivating to me. I began to think of what I would want said about me and I was inspired to start making those things happen now. Maybe you want people to say you were incredibly kind, or you made life better for others in some way, or you were a hard worker. Does that move you, inspire you, motivate you to start doing those things now? If not, what does? What motivates you to move? Find it and you will become unstoppable!
