01 A Modular Neighborhood for Everyday Living Semester|Spring 2026
Professor|Rawan Alsaffar Site Area|566,000sf Group Project: Audra Yap, Kaitlyn Truong , Chandler Morris This project proposes a community-centered, familyoriented mixed-use development that expands access to affordable housing and restores greenspace and walkability to the Mission Hill neighborhood. These design goals will be emphasized through modular construction to effectively reduce costs and improve adaptability, encouraging families to remain in the area. At the urbans scale, this project organizes its circulation, open space, and program around human-scale residential buildings, flexible public spaces, and a navigable layout. At the architectural scale, this project combines community-serving programs, affordable commercial storefronts, and family-oriented amenities to reinforce a resilient neighborhood. The overall goal of our design is to create an environment that has multiple daily uses and can serve the community through social, ecnomic, and public health design strategies.

02 Growing Village Semester|Fall 2025 Professor| Amanda Sanders Site Area|90,000sf These apartment complexes are located in the South Site on the North lot of Northeastern University. Each of these complexes are a single corridor hybrid building with the ground floor as ameities and the upper floors are 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom alternating repectively. The apartment design was modeled after a floral motif as the core concept. One of the main amenities of the apartments is a garden and community cooking space for residents and others to grow fresh produce and connections. To further my concept of healthy living I have incorporated lots of vegetation within the core and a small vertical farming unit on the 3rd floor and 5th floor balconies connecting them.

The Music Annex Semester|Spring 2025 Professor|Emmanuel Osorno Site Area|25,137sf My library is created with a rectangle exterior with a circular core, with 2 off set circles, that continues throughout the floors. These shapes are separated using the “Thick Thin” concept. On the first floor the “Thick” parts reside on the exterior of the core and the interior circle. This is reversed on the second floor where the crecent in betwen the two circles. I have also impemented double height areas towards the front of the library and in the auditorium/lecture hall and the learning rooms. My plus program is a music learning program. Children and adults can borrow/rent out music equipment from the library as well as attend groups lessons and recitals. This was plus program idea was inspired by the school near by. Many children to not get the chance to learn and play musical instruments because of the expense. With this program I hoped to give adults and children the oppotunity to explore music.

04 Shuffle Houses Semester|Fall 2024 Professor|Hugh Taylor Site Area|7,000sf The Shuffle houses were created to house a young married couple and an art collector. The initial design was a rectangular box divided into six different pieces. This created the first house designed for the young couple. This house showcases a simple exterior with an exciting interior. These same pieces were rearranged or “shuffled” to create a second house for the art collector. This house displays the more exciting edges of each piece to reflect the creativity of the art collector and employ contrast between the two houses.

GingerBread ShopFront Made out of gingerbread, isomalt, and royal icing, this gingerbread house was inspired by the fictional city of Corico from the Japanese film Kiki’s Delivery Service. Hayao Miyazaki took inspiration from many western cities like Stockholm, Naples, Paris, and other Mediteranian cities.
