Dear Owner
Living Boldly.
Let’s get one thing straight: there’s no rulebook for aging. The so-called "golden years" aren’t about slowing down they’re about living the life you want to live Whether that means taking up skydiving, perfecting your sourdough, learning a new language, dying your hair some bright crazy colour, or simply saying “no” to anything that doesn’t bring you joy, this is your time. And guess what? It’s time to do it your way
Age is just a number – really. Don’t let society’s expectations on what ‘aging’ looks and feels like dictate your story Want to start running marathons at 70? Go for it Feel like travelling solo at 80? Pack your bags Want a crazy new hair cut? Start learning a new language? Fancy a tattoo? You’ve earned the right to live authentically and unapologetically
Health is wealth - but fun is gold. Sure, staying active and eating well are important, but that doesn’t mean sacrificing the good stuff Love chocolate cake? Eat it Fancy a cheeky glass of wine on a Tuesday afternoon? Cheers to that! Life’s too short for guilt trips. Just balance some cake or wine with some movement to square up the wellness equation
Permission to Play. Remember when you were a child and life was about exploring, laughing, and making a mess? Bring that back Try something new just for fun Dance at the next village event Make up silly songs with your grandchildren Go on muddy walks Play isn’t just for children - it’s for anyone who wants to feel truly alive
The golden (and only) rule: living boldly isn’t a mindset, it is a declaration So laugh loudly, love fiercely, and dare greatly

Audley Group Health and Wellness Director
From martial arts to Mayfield:
Meet our inspiring Personal Trainer
Dan Darwin
From national taekwondo competitions to working on Hollywood sets, Dan’s journey is as fascinating as it is diverse We asked him a few questions to find out more
Tell us a little bit about yourself? Do you have any hobbies?
I’m a personal trainer now but as a kid I hated sports! I grew up typically neuro diverse and I liked drawing and playing guitar. I thought I would either be in a rock band or become an illustrator but eventually decided on martial arts
Do you like to travel?
Do you have any pets?
I have a little Pomeranian dog adopted from Romania My mother and auntie run a dog rescue charity, and we were supposed to foster her for a week... seven years later, she’s still with us!
My mother is half Peruvian and Japanese, I travelled around Japan in my twenties to learn more about my roots and discovered some incredible things I also visited Machu Picchu and the Amazon, uncovering even more family stories along the way
You used to be a National Taekwondo competitor and we heard you are a stuntman?
I’ve always wanted to work on film sets after spending my childhood bingeing on Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee movies. At my level, work as a stunt professional comes up once in a blue moon but I have had the opportunity to work on big sets Most recently, The Witcher, Nick Fury, and My Lady Jane BUT my biggest claim to fame was creating my own short film projects where I could showcase my best martial art moves and terrible acting but we won awards at film festivals
I believe that balance is the key a healthy lifestyle which is what I try to teach each every day I am here
How long have you worked at Mayfield and what do you enjoy most about working here?
This will be my second Christmas - I have learnt to never underestimate the owners I have coached and trained athletes with less resilience The stories and wisdom they have shared have inspired me to be a better coach and person
Tell us about the Mayfield Belles.
An owner suggested starting a cheerleading group, which I thought would be a fun addition to our Tuesday dance class but didn’t expect much interest What followed was a testament to the energy and creativity of the Mayfield community
Months later, with added rehearsals and using my performance experience to add choreography, it grew into a full-fledged dance troupe performing successfully at Mayfield events Now, they meet regularly to rehearse and create their own routines Seeing their enthusiasm and commitment has been inspiring. Although I’ve stepped back to focus on other aspects of the club, it’s been a privilege to help spark something so positive
