Kumar & Company Instructed to Auction Assets of 90-Year-Old Engineering Company
Midlands-based auctioneers Kumar and Company have been instructed to sell the assets of Leamington Spa-based George Worrall Engineering.
The metalwork and fabrication company, founded in the Warwickshire village of Barford in 1938, ceased trading earlier this year.
Kumar and Company in Walsall has been instructed by a major finance company to auction off all the assets, including tool room equipment, press brakes, punches, bending machines, welders and a Ford Ranger XLT pick-uptruck.

Rajiv Kumar, Managing Director of Kumar and Company, said: “Instructions and requests to organise sales are coming thick and fast at the moment. We are running auctionseveryweek.”
Kumar and Company has also been instructed to organise the auction of £100,000 of electrical supplies from Wolverhampton Electrical Ltd, which ceased trading last year. Bidding on around 200 lots willrunonlineuntil20March.
“We have been instructed to realise the company’s assets in order to enable paymentofasupplier,”saidMrKumar.
A recently completed asset sale was part of the liquidation of Coventry-based Quantum ITDistributionLtd.
“It wasn’t a huge sale – assets of around £12,000 – but it generated an excellent response and achieved nearly 100% of cost value; normally you would expect 30% to 50%. There was clear demand for iPhones andcomputerequipment.”
