Our Mission Theatre has the potential to foster dialogue, alter perceptions and inspire social change. The Auburn University Department of Theatre is dedicated to the education and professional training of theatre artists, scholars and audiences within a liberal arts environment. The Department of Theatre champions the interaction between theory and practice and produces citizen artists who advocate for the arts through their own work in local, national and international communities. Auburn University Theatre students think critically, creatively and collaboratively and carry their knowledge from rehearsal spaces and classrooms to stages, campuses and communities worldwide.

Director's Note At the beginning of fall 2020, we had hope. Hope that cases would lessen. Hope that restrictions and mandates would lift. Hope that we might find comfort in our common humanity. Hope that we might rally and strive together to vanquish fear and despair. Hope that some semblance of normalcy might emerge. Yet we found ourselves still immersed in the middle of multiple pandemics and mountains of uncertainty. And yet, performance persists. When facing the reality that we could no longer stage the large-scale musical concert we had planned, we funneled our energies into creating something that would uplift and motivate –- that would tap into those powers of musical theatre to bring us together and collectively (virtually) share space. Picking up the proverbial torch from last semester’s "Together Apart", this filmed cabaret "New Day Dawning" is the result of those efforts. The entire ensemble chose to embrace what Barack Obama has called "the audacity of hope." "Hope -- Hope in the face of difficulty. Hope in the face of uncertainty. The audacity of hope! In the end, that is God’s greatest gift to us...A belief in things not seen. A belief that there are better days ahead." This cabaret dares to envision those better days, to carve out space for what is possible, to dream and plan for a future free from this present. We offer the following performance to you, our valued community, to create a space to generate some good vibes, thoughtful reflection and some positive energy. We hope that you will join us in manifesting that goodwill and unleashing it on this weary world. - Chase Bringardner, Director

Company Biographies Nikki Ahlf (Ensemble) is a junior musical theatre and marketing double major. Auburn credits include "Bring It On: The Musical" (Skylar) and "Big Fish" (Ensemble). Nikki is also a proud member of AU Singers. Nikki is so grateful to God for her experiences and friends and family for their love and support. Ashleigh Avallone (Ensemble) is a junior BFA music theatre major from Winter Park, Florida. Her Auburn University Theatre credits include "Little Women" (Young Amy) "Bring It On: The Musical" (Truman Ensemble), "The Theory of Relativity" ("End of The Line") and "Big Fish" (Ensemble). She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support, as well as this cast and crew for making this new journey such an unforgettable one! Gianna Carter (Co-Stage Manger) is a senior BFA theatre management major at Auburn University. Her recent credits include "Big Fish" (Spotlight Operator), "The Belle’s Stratagem" (ASM), "Bring It On: The Musical" (ASM) as well as Stage Manager of "Little Women". She has had an amazing time working on this cabaret and hopes that everyone enjoys it! Bobby Coe (Ensemble) is a senior from Birmingham, Alabama majoring in public relations with a minor in theatre. He is so excited to finish up his senior year with this amazing cast. Previous credits include "Bring It On: The Musical" (Dance Captain/ La Cienega u/s), "Big Fish" (Dance Captain), "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" (Joe Farkas) and "Chicago" (Ensemble). Antonisia Collins (Ensemble) is a sophomore music theatre major at Auburn University. Previous credit include "Bring It On: The Musical" and "Together Apart". She is thrilled to continue her theatre experience at Auburn and hopes to be casted in many more shows. Jordan Denson (Ensemble) is exceedingly thrilled to embark on a new and fascinating journey provided by a unique opportunity to perform a show in an unconventional method. He hopes to learn from this experience and be able to take the tools acquired from his involvement in this performance with him to further his journey and career as an artist.
Brady McNeil (Ensemble) is a Ph.D. candidate in instrumental music education from Slocomb, Alabama and will graduate this upcoming May. He made his Auburn theatre debut in "The Theory of Relativity". Other select credits include "South Pacific" (Tom O'Brien) at the University of Tennessee, "Les Miserables" (Feuilly) with the Tennessee Valley Playersd and "A Little Night Music" (Henrik) with the Oak Ridge Playhouse. Brady has also served as a vocal coach, music director and co-director for numerous productions at Central High School in Phenix City. Maddie Maradik (Ensemble) is a sophomore music theatre major here at Auburn University. Her previous Auburn University Theatre roles include "Bring it On the Musical" (Truman cheerleader/Campbell u/s). She is so excited to be a part of this musical and to have the opportunity to collaborate with her peers during these unprecedented times! Holden Mathison (Ensemble) is a junior BFA music theatre major with a minor in sports communication from Warner Robins, Georgia. His previous credits include "Big Fish" (Ensemble), "The Theory of Relativity" (Pi, Lipstick), "Bring It On: The Musical" (Steven) and "Together Apart" (Ensemble). He would like to thank his parents, his friends and the faculty for their support. Lauren Selvia (Ensemble) is a junior BFA music theatre major and marketing minor from Tampa, Florida. Previous credits include Ado Annie in "Oklahoma!" and Cinderella in "Into The Woods". She would like to thank her family and friends for all of their love and support, and New Day Dawning's incredible cast and crew for this experience. Ebony Strong (Ensemble) is a senior BFA music theatre major from Atlanta, Georgia. Julianna Devaney (Ensemble) is a junior BFA music theatre major from Prattville, Alabama. Guest Artist Biography Anthony Narciso (Sound Designer) is a sound Designer and composer based out of Orlando, Florida. He routinely designs for Norwegian Cruise Lines, Garden Theatre, and Auburn University and serves as Orlando Repertory Theatre's seasonal sound designer. Additionally, he spent seven years as the Festival Sound Designer for the Texas Shakespeare Festival and has been guest artist at universities across the country. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre design and technology from The University of Central Florida and is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829. Company Biographies Nikki Ahlf (Ensemble) is a junior musical theatre and marketing double major. Auburn credits include "Bring It On: The Musical" (Skylar) and "Big Fish" (Ensemble). Nikki is also a proud member of AU Singers. Nikki is so grateful to God for her experiences and friends and family for their love and support. Ashleigh Avallone (Ensemble) is a junior BFA music theatre major from Winter Park, Florida. Her Auburn University Theatre credits include "Little Women" (Young Amy) "Bring It On: The Musical" (Truman Ensemble), "The Theory of Relativity" ("End of The Line") and "Big Fish" (Ensemble). She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support, as well as this cast and crew for making this new journey such an unforgettable one! Gianna Carter (Co-Stage Manger) is a senior BFA theatre management major at Auburn University. Her recent credits include "Big Fish" (Spotlight Operator), "The Belle’s Stratagem" (ASM), "Bring It On: The Musical" (ASM) as well as Stage Manager of "Little Women". She has had an amazing time working on this cabaret and hopes that everyone enjoys it! Bobby Coe (Ensemble) is a senior from Birmingham, Alabama majoring in public relations with a minor in theatre. He is so excited to finish up his senior year with this amazing cast. Previous credits include "Bring It On: The Musical" (Dance Captain/ La Cienega u/s), "Big Fish" (Dance Captain), "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" (Joe Farkas) and "Chicago" (Ensemble). Antonisia Collins (Ensemble) is a sophomore music theatre major at Auburn University. Previous credit include "Bring It On: The Musical" and "Together Apart". She is thrilled to continue her theatre experience at Auburn and hopes to be casted in many more shows. Jordan Denson (Ensemble) is exceedingly thrilled to embark on a new and fascinating journey provided by a unique opportunity to perform a show in an unconventional method. He hopes to learn from this experience and be able to take the tools acquired from his involvement in this performance with him to further his journey and career as an artist.
Brady McNeil (Ensemble) is a Ph.D. candidate in instrumental music education from Slocomb, Alabama and will graduate this upcoming May. He made his Auburn theatre debut in "The Theory of Relativity". Other select credits include "South Pacific" (Tom O'Brien) at the University of Tennessee, "Les Miserables" (Feuilly) with the Tennessee Valley Playersd and "A Little Night Music" (Henrik) with the Oak Ridge Playhouse. Brady has also served as a vocal coach, music director and co-director for numerous productions at Central High School in Phenix City. Maddie Maradik (Ensemble) is a sophomore music theatre major here at Auburn University. Her previous Auburn University Theatre roles include "Bring it On the Musical" (Truman cheerleader/Campbell u/s). She is so excited to be a part of this musical and to have the opportunity to collaborate with her peers during these unprecedented times! Holden Mathison (Ensemble) is a junior BFA music theatre major with a minor in sports communication from Warner Robins, Georgia. His previous credits include "Big Fish" (Ensemble), "The Theory of Relativity" (Pi, Lipstick), "Bring It On: The Musical" (Steven) and "Together Apart" (Ensemble). Our Mission Theatre has the potential to foster dialogue, alter perceptions and inspire social change. The Auburn University Department of Theatre is dedicated to the education and professional training of theatre artists, scholars and audiences within a liberal arts environment. The Department of Theatre champions the interaction between theory and practice and produces citizen artists who advocate for the arts through their own work in local, national and international communities. Auburn University Theatre students think critically, creatively and collaboratively and carry their knowledge from rehearsal spaces and classrooms to stages, campuses and communities worldwide.
