>> A MESSAGE FROM RON MAYOR, CITY OF AUBURN Welcome to Auburn! We’re so happy you’re here, whether you’re a new resident or in town for a ball game, business trip or visit. Whatever the reason, we hope you get a taste of why Southern Living calls us one of the South’s best college towns and why MONEY Magazine has named us the best place to live in Alabama. As the proud home of Auburn University, the City of Auburn works closely with the university to make Auburn the best it can be. Through partnerships in areas like athletics and economic development, you’ll find the university’s impact extends far beyond the resounding “War Eagle” you’ll hear walking down the street. Downtown Auburn is the thriving center of Auburn. It’s where we celebrate our victories. It’s where our community comes together for parades and block parties. And it’s where we meet our friends and family to shop and grab a bite to eat. We invite you to try the famous lemonade at Toomer’s Drugs as you explore all our downtown has to offer. Beyond the heart of Auburn, you’ll find plenty of other reasons to love it. Our city schools are nationally recognized

for the excellent education offered, and our many parks are the perfect places to relax, go for a jog or engage in some friendly competition. Our thriving business community continues to grow, consistently landing us on the Milken Institute’s annual list of the best performing small cities. All of this recognition has brought more and more people to our village, including the nearly 10,000 people who have made Auburn their home over the last five years. As we grow, we’re planning for its impact on our schools, recreation facilities, infrastructure and all city services. This year we’ll be opening a new Public Safety Center that will give our police and fire divisions ample space to serve and grow, and even more parks and recreation facilities are to come in the next five years. Again, we’re glad you’re here, and we hope you see why Auburn is a great place to visit and an even better place to call home. War Eagle! Ron Anders
