at the beach, and gather with friends and family. As we step into summer, I am thrilled to share all the exciting happenings and updates around Auburn House and our beautiful community.

Annual fees are now past due. All outstanding accounts as of July 1st will be handed over to Walsh LLP for resolution. If you have not done so already, be sure to pay your fees in person, online, or over the phone to avoid collections.

Our boathouse is open for the summer! Enjoy the beauty of our lake by renting out a watercraft. All information about renting watercraft is located below.

We are excited for everyone to begin enjoying the lake during these warmer months, but we also want our residents to prioritize water safety. Check out our water safety page for more information.

Looking to play some tennis or pickleball? Outdoor court reservations are now open!

We’re thrilled to offer a new resource to enhance your visit to the lake. Our sensory backpacks are available for sign-out from the main office to provide sensory support and enrichment for children.

Our Concession Cart is now open for the summer! Grab a cool treat, drink, snack, or swim gear during its operational hours.

The Auburn Bay RA Beach Paw Patrol is in full swing, and we have created an adorable spotlight page for all of our amazing pups.

Our Movie Under the Stars event, traditionally held in August, will now take place in June! Mark your calendars and join us for an early summer celebration. Don’t forget to bring your own chair and blanket for a cozy evening under the open sky!

All accounts that remain in arrears as of July 1st, 2024 will be handed over to the Auburn Bay Residents Association’s legal counsel, Walsh LLP, to be resolved. As of July 1, 2024, payments will no longer be accepted at Auburn House. All payments and communication regarding collection of fees must be done directly with Walsh LLP. Following an extensive and comprehensive review of the 2024/2025 budget, the ABRA Board of Directors has approved the annual fees: Please note there is a 0% increase to this year’s fees. The ABRA Board of Directors is attuned to the economic challenges confronted by our residents in the current financial climate. This decision reflects a commitment to supporting the community during difficult times and fostering a sense of understanding and cooperation among residents and the board.

Methods of Payment DEBIT: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM Monday to Sunday.

CREDIT CARD: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM Monday to Sunday in person. Please note there is a $7.50 Credit Card Processing Fee for all credit card payments.

CHEQUE: Please make your cheque payable to the ‘Auburn Bay Residents Association’. Drop off or mail to the following address: 200 Auburn Bay Blvd SE Calgary, AB T3M-0A4 PRE-AUTHORIZED CREDIT CARD FORM: All residents can bypass the lineups and fill out the credit card authorization slip, along with other details, and ABRA staff will process your payment within five (5) business days. Please note there is a $7.50 Credit Card Processing Fee for all credit card payments. Forms can be found online at www.AuburnBayRA.ca and be dropped off in a sealed envelope to Auburn House during our hours of operation.

Credit Card Processing Fee Last year, the ABRA Board of Directors introduced a $7.50 Credit Card Processing Fee to alleviate our expenses related to merchant fees. As of March 2024, ABRA has successfully saved nearly $50,000 in merchant expenses. In light of these savings, ABRA has decided to maintain the implementation of this fee exclusively for this year’s annual fees. If you prefer not to bear this cost, alternative payment methods are available: 1. Debit – You can pay by debit in-person at Auburn House 9am-10pm Monday to Sunday.

2. Cheque – Please make your cheque payable to the ‘Auburn Bay Residents Association’ and drop it off or mail it to Auburn House.

3. Cash – You can pay with cash in-person at Auburn House 9am-5pm Monday to Friday ONLY. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

E-Transfer Payments Not Accepted We greatly value convenience and security for our residents in all financial transactions. However, at this time, we do not accept e-transfers due to our commitment to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all payments, particularly in verifying transactions with the correct Auburn Bay property.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage alternative payment methods to facilitate a smooth and secure transaction process.

Please take note of the Watercraft Waitlist System used to rent out ABRA Watercraft.

Send a text message to: (403)-390-3620 Containing the following information: First and Last Name.

Membership Card Number. (If you have a temporary membership card please include the Auburn Bay Address).

Which watercraft you would like to take out.

Your rental is ready for you when you receive the following text message: Your boat/SUP rental is ready! Please proceed to the boathouse where an attendant will assist you. Your boat/SUP will be held for 10 minutes.

Watercraft cannot be reserved ahead of time and are rented out on a first-come first-serve basis.

The booking system accepts only text messages, it will not receive phone calls.

If you don't have a device, please speak to our boathouse attendees in-person with your membership card to reserve a watercraft.

Boat and Stand Up Paddle Board Rules ABRA watercraft can only be signed out by residents aged 16+ with a valid membership card Lifejackets are MANDATORY on all ABRA watercraft.

(ABRA highly recommends that you bring your own lifejacket as we cannot guarantee the availability of our lifejackets) Boats can be taken out for 90 minutes SUP's can be taken out for 45 minutes Requests to sign out ABRA watercraft can only be made for the current timeslot. Requests for later time slots will not be granted Requests are subject to availability and are not guaranteed

Failure to comply with ABRA rules & regulations may result in suspension of watercraft rental privileges.

As we dive into the summer season, Let's prioritize water safety during your visit to the lake!

Lifejackets are available at our lifejacket loaner stations, at the entrances to the beach, and at the boathouse. They are available free of charge and for all patrons to use.

Lifejackets are mandatory when using any ABRA watercraft and are strongly recommended for other water activities.

Parents and guardians - please keep your children within arms reach at all times and remember to use active supervision.

Auburn House has a large park and it only takes a second for a child to dart off.

If you see someone in distress, there are red rescue tubes located along the beach wall and at the boathouse, throw bags at each lake accessway, reaching poles at the boathouse and fishing dock and rescue life rings on the floating docks.

There are AEDs located in the Skate Change Room and in the main lobby of Auburn House.

Don't forget that ABRA staff are not trained lifeguards. Use the facilities at your own risk.

Please be mindful when you are sending your small children out on inflatables. The winds can vary and change very suddenly.

Know and be confident in your swimming abilities.

Please educate your guests on ABRA policies, procedures and rules, especially surrounding water safety. Many close calls that we experience at Auburn House are with guests of residents as they are not familiar with water safety expectations.

The swim area is defined by the swim line, however please be mindful that the water levels vary within the swim area.

For your safety, please do not swim past the swim line, and be cautious when approaching the area as there is a significant drop and it gets very deep.

Always swim with a buddy.

Homeowners: Bring a copy of your Certificate of Title, as well as government-issued photo I.D. with the Auburn Bay address on it to Auburn House to receive your permanent membership card.

Tenants: Ensure your landlord has completed a Transfer of Privileges form & sent in their Certificate of Title. Bring in your tenancy agreement & photo ID with the Auburn Bay Address. Headshots & documents can be emailed into csr@auburnbay.org or taken/provided at the office. Our office is open from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily.

Youth Membership Cards (12+) How to obtain a youth membership card: Parents/Guardians must provide a birth certificate and must fill out a Children’s Waiver Form in order for any children, aged 12 to 15, to receive their membership card. Photos can be taken at our main office or sent via email to csr@auburnbay.org Children’s Waivers must be filled out to receive a youth card. The form is available through the link below.

Children under 12 will not receive cards and may only utilize the facilities when accompanied by an adult.

Did you know that youth 12 years and older are eligible for a membership card?

Youth without a membership card are not permitted in the facility alone.

TENNIS/PICKLEBALL COURT RESERVATIONS Outdoor Court reservations are now open, however please be aware of the following: We have implemented a new reservation system this season. In order to use this system you will need to create an account through the “Create my account” button located on the page linked below.

This new system will allow individual Pickleball courts to be booked (currently only available on the North Courts).

Please take note of the map and which court you are booking. There are currently no signs out at the courts to designate pickleball courts, however they will be installed soon!

Please be aware that the Auburn Bay Residents Association has a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination towards ABRA staff, contractors and other patrons due to their race, religious beliefs, colour, gender, gender identity, gender expression, physical disability, mental disability, age, ancestry, place of origin marital status, source of income, family stats, or sexual orientation of that person or that class of person.

Individuals who partake in discriminatory behaviour are subject to disciplinary action as per the recommendation of the ABRA Board of Directors Disciplinary Committee.

Membership Rules GENERAL MEMBERSHIP RULES All ABRA membership card holders MUST be respectful of ABRA property and staff.

All members must present their membership card to gain entrance to the park and facility.

All ABRA households, in good standing, are permitted to have five (5) guests per day.

Property owners are 100% responsible for their guests while using ABRA amenities.

Residents must reside with their guests when using ABRA amenities.

Members are not permitted to sign in other Auburn Bay residents – no exceptions.

All ABRA amenities and facilities are “Use at Your Own Risk”.

Members must adhere to ABRA rules and regulations while using ABRA amenities and facilities.

Membership cards remain the property of the Auburn Bay Residents Association.

ABRA will seize and suspend access if the holder of the card breaches the rules.

All members accessing the Auburn Bay amenities must always carry their membership card and present it upon request of the Auburn Bay Residents Association staff.

Membership cards are not transferable, including between members of the same household.

Lending your membership card to another person is prohibited and will result in a temporary suspension of membership privileges as determined by ABRA. If a membership card is lost or stolen, residents will be charged a $10 replacement fee.

Short term rentals and Air B&B’s are not permitted to obtain ABRA membership.

Private lakeshore and lake access docks are private property and not to be accessed by anyone other than the residents who reside in these areas.

Please allow up to 72 hours for all membership cards requests to be completed.

Summer Rules GENERAL SUMMER RULES Bicycles, liquor, and glass bottles are not permitted in the park.

Scooters, rollerblades, roller-skates, skateboards are not permitted in the park.

Use of boogie boards or other such types of equipment will only be allowed when nobody is on the beach or in the swimming area.

All Flotation/Splash Island toys are not to exceed four (4) meters in diameter.

Pets are not permitted in the park, in the lake or on any ABRA managed property and pets are not allowed on the ice in the winter. Lake Shore/Lake Access homes must also comply.

Open fires are not permitted in the park. Only charcoal briquettes are to be used in the barbeques.

Smoking and/or e-cigarette usage is not permitted in any of the building facilities, park, pathways, and lake access ways.

Members must refrain from using foul language in the park and rambunctious and unsafe behavior will not be tolerated.

The use of motorized boats (including battery operated motors) or other vehicles is prohibited (except as required by the Association for maintenance or security purposes).

Motorized remote control driven boats, planes, vehicles, and such are not permitted on ABRA property.

Jumping or diving from any dock owned by the ABRA or from any boat is strictly prohibited.

No person is permitted on the lake while Thin Ice signs are posted.

No person shall at any time discharge, deposit, throw, dump, or place any trash or debris of any kind whatsoever (including, without limitation, any toxic or dangerous substance or material) in the lake, all of which are strictly prohibited at all times.

The Auburn Bay Residents Association does not provide supervision or lifeguards for park/lake. Guardians are responsible for their children at all times.

Members and guests will enter and use the park facilities at their own risk.

Neighbour Day June 15th is Neighbour Day! Neighbour Day is Calgary’s celebration of community connection. Held each year on the third Saturday in June, Neighbour Day is a step toward creating welcoming and inclusive communities where neighbours connect and belong every day of the year.

Good things happen when you get to know your neighbours. They can add a friendly visit to your day, and you can lend a helping hand when needed. Social connection with neighbours reduces loneliness and isolation and builds strong communities where people feel they belong.

GYM SCHEDULE & INFO Please be aware of the rules for our gymnasium: Indoor Courts do not have a reservation system.

All courts are on a "first come first serve" basis.

However, all players must abide by the rotation system and take turns alternating game play when there are more groups than courts.

Once a match is complete, the next available players will head to a court to start their game. *Please be courteous, fair, and respectful of all users. Auburn House staff do not delegate game times and/or rotations.

ABRA DOES NOT PROVIDE GYM SUPERVISION

OPEN GYM & SPLIT GYM Open Gym (Non-Netted): Basketball, floor hockey, dodgeball... open gym is an all-ages opportunity for family and youth to use the gym for sports!

Split Gym (Half Netted, Half Non-Netted): Half the gym accommodates non-netted sports and half accommodates pickleball or badminton.

DROP-IN PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, NO EXCEPTIONS.

ADULT DROP-IN REMINDER: Please note that our Adult drop-in times are 16+ only. No children are permitted in the gymnasium during these times. Children under the age of 12 are NOT to be left unattended in the facility.

GYMNASIUM RULES AND REMINDERS All users must check-in at the office before entering the gymnasium.

Adult members are permitted to bring up to 5 guests (per household) Residents MUST remain with their guests while using ABRA amenities.

Guests are not permitted into the facility until their resident is present.

Youth members (12-16 years, with written parental consent) up to 2 guests (per household) Indoor shoes are mandatory for all users.

The gymnasium is not a makeshift locker room. All users must use the designated changerooms in the bathrooms.

No outdoor hockey sticks or pucks permitted.

No food or drink (except water).

Gymnasium Schedule is subject to change at any time without notice.

UPCOMING EVENTS Movie Under the Stars Saturday, June 22, 2024 Fun starts at 7:30pm | Movie at 10:00pm (sunset) Residents Only Event We’re switching things up! Our Movie Under the Stars event, traditionally held in August, will now take place in June! Mark your calendars and join us for an early summer celebration!

Movie Selected by you: Space Jam Experience the magic of cinema at our outdoor movie night! Relax under the stars as a fantastic feature film is presented on a massive screen. Arrive early to enjoy pre-show entertainment and indulge in cotton candy, VHF Coffee, and kettle corn. Don’t forget to bring your own chair and blanket for a cozy evening under the open sky!

Please Note: The use of portable fire pits (propane fueled, or otherwise) are not permitted for use in the park. **This event is for Auburn Bay RESIDENTS ONLY**.

Membership cards are MANDATORY for access and are required from everyone to be presented upon arrival. No Card, No Access. Live alone? Please contact inquiries@auburnbay.org, in advance of the event date to make arrangements.

FAMILY MUSTER POINT: We will again be implementing a Special Event ‘Family Muster Point’ for our Movie Under the Stars event. We highly recommend to all residents, particularly those with children, to familiarize yourselves with the location and the details of the Family Muster Point.

SPECIAL EVENT FAMILY MUSTER POINT Hey Auburn Bay! We would like to remind all of our residents and guests that safety is always our number one priority.

This year again, we will be implementing a Special Event ‘Family Muster Point’ for all our of outdoor family events, which will be located in the splash park area. We highly recommend to all residents, particularly those with children, to familiarize yourselves with the location of the Family Muster Point upon arrival to an event. Please speak with your children to ensure everyone knows, should you be separated from your group or family, to meet up at the Family Muster Point. We will have staff stationed there to quickly help reunite your group.

Should you have a member go missing from your group, it is a good idea to know what everyone is wearing for a description. It is of the utmost importance that all residents know where to go, and what to do in case of an emergency.

In conjunction with the Special Event Family Muster Point, we will also again be providing ‘Parent ID Wristbands’ for kids to wear at special events in order to safely and quickly reunite a child who has been separated from their family. We highly recommend to all parents attending our outdoor events with children to utilize these wristbands. You will find these wristbands for your child(ren) at the main park entrance as well as at the Family Muster Point. Thank you for thinking of safety first!
