Remember when masks were for Halloween and zoom was a camera function? Our culture shifted dramatically during the global pandemic. This work offers a view of some of our collective experiences: traumatic, mind-numbing and humorous. We don’t know the full impact yet. Each day, we are coping with constant change and we keep asking: what’s NEXT?
Joyce Marshall
Willow Dubose is a freelance performer, choreographer and rehearsal director in Dallas. She is an alumna of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Willow was honored as a YoungArts finalist and award winner, as well as a Presidential Scholar at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, from which she graduated in 2022.
Abel Flores, Jr. is a performance artist and actor blending theater, ritual, and social commentary. A University of Texas at Dallas graduate, and resident artist with Dead White Zombies, he co-founded Artstillery in 2016. His participatory performances—including the character AFJ—explore identity, citizenship, and collective imagination.
Sorany Gutierrez is a Colombian-born interdisciplinary artist based in Dallas. Her practice merges diverse cultures and contemporary artistic techniques, addressing pressing issues and challenging norms through art. Sorany holds a BFA in Performing Arts & Fine Arts from Universidad del Valle, Colombia, and has been involved in professional theatrical productions for more than 18 years.
Christopher M. Ham is the Director of Dance Production for the Dance Division at Southern Methodist University (SMU) where he received his MFA from the Meadows School of the Arts. Chris has designed costumes, scenic, sound, projections and lighting for theatre, musical theatre, opera and trade shows.
Jaiquan Laurencin is an educator, performer and choreographer who earned his BA in Dance Education from Texas Woman’s University. He has performed with several companies and worked with renowned artists. Currently, he serves as Dance Director at Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy, inspiring and training young artists in Dallas/Fort Worth.
Jennifer Mabus is a Texas-based dance artist, actively presenting work through festivals and residencies. She has performed as a soloist with Robert Battle, Takehiro Ueyama, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance, Noble Motion, and Bruce Wood Dance Dallas, among others. Currently, she teaches at Texas Christian University (TCU) and Texas Ballet Theater, and is the founding artistic director of Grackle Dance Collective.
Armando Monsivais is a multidisciplinary theatre artist, actor, sound designer, and composer. His work spans Mexican folk, hip-hop, classical, jazz, and rock ’n’ roll, with credits at Cara Mía Theatre Co., Pegasus Theatre, Teatro Dallas, and University of North Texas. He has also performed with Prism Movement Theater, Shakespeare Dallas and Laboratorio de la Máscara.
Lori Sundeen Soderbergh is a director, choreographer, dancer and writer who founded Over the Bridge Arts in 2017 and Burning Woman in 2018. Lori received her BFA in Dance from TCU and an MA in Dance History from Trinity Laban Centre, London. She embraces a multidisciplinary and socially conscious approach to the arts.
Madison Cox received her BA in Film and Media Arts from SMU. She has stage managed Sweeney Todd, Mr. Burns, Fall/Spring Dance Concerts, and more at SMU. She has also been on stage management teams at Dallas Children’s Theater and Dallas Theater Center, and is thrilled to join Over the Bridge Arts.
Lauren Feichtinger is a senior with a double major in Accounting and Dance Performance at SMU. She has been involved with various dance concerts as a performer and as an Assistant Stage and Production Manager. Lauren found her love of production from her professor, Christopher Ham. She is excited to keep exploring and deepening her love of production work.
Jordan Pipkins is a junior majoring in Dance Performance at SMU and was born in Dallas, where she trained in dance at Dallas Black Dance Academy and Booker T. Washington HSPVA. Jordan performed in various musical productions and dance concerts, but began to learn the ins and outs of crewing under the instruction of Christopher Ham at SMU.
Jonathan Thomas, aka “Jay Analog,” is a Dallas native music producer with more than 30 years of professional experience in sound engineering. As 1/3 of the hip hop group “Cure for Paranoia,” he mixed and/or produced all major projects; he engineered for Justin Bieber, Tony Williams, Kwinton Gray, and Meow Wolf.
