This year, we will see legendary masterpieces come back in different styles. Coming first is the TV cartoon Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 3 Stardust Crusaders, starting this spring. The series is an adaptation of the extravagant adventure comic with a storyline revolving around an inter-clan battle lasting for more than 100 years. The author Hirohiko Araki’s unique style has been attracting fans from around the world, his artwork being featured in the Louvre in Paris. Currently, part 8 of the series, Jojolion, is serialized in the monthly magazine Ultra Jump. This spring’s anime series is based on the part 3 of the original comic where strange, supernatural powers called Stands are at play. 各種風格的歷史巨作即將在今年復甦。首先是今年春天開播的電視動畫版「JOJO 的奇妙 冒險 星塵鬥士」 。原作是一部華麗的冒現漫畫，故事描述一個族群超過一世紀的鬥爭。而 作者荒木飛呂彥獨創性的畫風也受到世界各地的矚目，作品還在巴黎羅浮宮美術館中展 出。第 8 部的「JOJO Lion」目前也在 Ultra Jump 連載中。而這次要製作成電影的是新奇超能 力「Stand」登場的第 3 部。

GHOST IN THE SHELL ARISE is a new project based on the sci-fi anime highly praised by Steven Spielberg and James Cameron. It is also known to be one of main inspirations for the movie The Matrix. Part 3 of a quadrilogy, GHOST IN THE SHELL ARISE border: 3 Ghost Tears will be released on June 28, 2014. The novel story of the film revolves around a future society where peoples’ conscious is interconnected by a vast electronic network, enabled by the progress of information networks and cyborg technology. 受到名導史蒂芬．史匹柏及詹姆斯．卡麥隆的讚賞，並且與電影「駭客任務」劇情有密切連 結而著名的科幻動畫「攻殼機動隊 ARISE」的最新企劃。總共由 4 部構成，其中第 3 部的「攻 殼機動隊 ARISE border:3 Ghost Tears」即將於今年 6 月 28 日上映。劇情描述發達的資訊網絡 及半機械人技術使得人類意志與電腦連結的未來社會。

Saint SEIYA LEGEND of SANCTUARY is a new episode of the hugely popular fantasy battle anime series based on Greek mythology and constellations. The TV anime series has been broadcast in more than 80 countries including France, Italy and Brazil and has acquired a great number of fans. The first anime movie in the series in about 10 years is directed by Keiichi Sato of Tiger & Bunny and the executive producer is the author Masami Kurumada. The premiere is planned for this summer.

When Marnie Was There is a new film by Studio Ghibli, the animation film studio which attracted much attention recently when its renowned director Hayao Miyazaki announced his retirement from production work. The story is about the encounter of a lonely girl Anna who was left with an elderly couple in a seaside village and a mysterious girl named Marnie. The movie is an adaptation of a children’s novel by Joan G Robinson. The director is Hiromasa Yonebayashi, a rising star who directed The Secret World of Arietti.

The new film of the wizard Mamoru Oshii THE NEXT GENERATION – PATLABOR– is an improbable live-action film adaption of Mobile Police PATLABOR, the landmark Sci-Fi anime. An eight meter tall human-shaped robot was built and state-of-the art CG/VFX technology was used in the process of making this film. The story takes place in a near future Japan where robots called Labors are used, and revolves around the actions of the police teams fighting crime. This adaptation is set to be produced as a series consisting of seven episodes that will be sequentially released nationwide starting from April 5 this year. The long theatrical version will be premiered nationwide around the Golden-Week holidays (late April to early May) in 2015. 鬼才導演押井守的新作品「THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR」 ，將稱作科幻動畫金字塔的「機 動警察 PATLABOR」製作成真人版電影。電影中不但將 8 公尺高的機器人實物化，還運用最新 的 CG/VFX 特效。劇情描述在稱作 LABOR 的機器人普及的日本，警察打擊相關犯罪的故事。 本系列共有 7 章，預計在今年 4 月 5 日開始在日本國內依序上映。而長篇電影將預計在 2015 年的日本黃金周期間上映。

The live-action film adaptation of the legendary manga PARASYTE is finally set to release, after many failed production attempts in Hollywood due to the grandiosity of its theme. The original work is set to a shocking story of human beings whose brains are taken over by mysterious aliens to eat other humans, featuring a profound theme questioning the reason of our existence. The two-part film series is being directed by Takashi Yamazaki: part one will be released in December 2014 and part two will follow in 2015. A TV anime series adaptation is also reported to be in the works. 雖然好萊塢也數度嘗試將傳說中的漫畫「寄生獸」製作成電影，卻因為劇情過於磅礡浩大而作罷，現 在終於要實現製作成電影。劇情是描述，被謎樣的生物寄生後大腦受到支配的人類噬食其他人類的 故事以及具備探討人類存在價值受到質疑的深奧主題，這部名作即將製作成真人版電影。導演為山 崎貴。而由 2 部構成的 PART1 預計於今年 12 月、PART2 也計畫於明年公開上映。此外，還預計製作成 電視動畫版。

attack on titan was one of the most talked-about and successful TV series of last year. Now an adaptation of the original manga into a live-action has been decided. The manga attack on titan is currently one of the most read fantasy comic books, having sold more than 28 million copies. It has drawn a lot of strong reactions by describing the fierce struggle of humankind living inside of big walls, facing the destruction because of the attack by giant humanoids with devastating power. It is also popular for its tough atmosphere and many mysteries to unravel. The movie is being directed by Shinji Higuchi and is planned to be released in 2015. 去年電視動畫化締造高人氣紀錄的話題作品「進擊的巨人」也決定要拍攝為真人版電影。原作累計賣 出超過 2800 萬本，是現在最受到矚目的奇異漫畫。故事描述居住在巨大牆壁後並被身有龐大力量的 巨人襲擊而面臨滅亡危機的人類，充滿謎團又嚴苛的世界觀造成極大的回響。導演為樋口真嗣，預計 於 2015 年公開上映。

지난해 TV 애니메이션으로 만들어져 큰 성공을 거둔 화제작 ‘진격의 거인’도 일찌감치 영화화가 결정. 원 작은 총 발행 부수 2,800만부 이상을 돌파했으며 지금 가장 주목을 받고 있는 판타지 만화. 압도적인 힘을 가진 거인에게 공격을 받아 멸망의 위기에 직면하고 거대한 벽 내부에서 살아가는 인류의 장렬한 드라마 와 수수께끼에 쌓인 심오한 세계관이 큰 인기를 얻고 있다. 감독은 히구치 신지. 2015년 개봉 예정.

劇場版 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ ［新編］叛逆の物語

The screen writer Gen Urobuchi is one of the most high-profile creators in Japan’s pop culture world. Belonging to Nitroplus, a game creation company, he has distinguished himself by his PC games in a dark and tough style and published novels including Fate/Zero.

He advanced into the animation industry and became famous by making the TV anime Puella Magi Madoka Magika (2010-2011) a blockbuster.

The sequel, Theatrical version: Puella Magi Madoca Magika the Movie -Rebellion-, was released last year and achieved an attendance of 1.4 million viewers, which made it the movie with the highest box office revenue ever as a film adaptation of a late-night anime. The film has been released in more than 10 countries and was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature in 2014.

Urobuchi now serves as the main writer of KAMEN RIDER GAIM, the new title of KAMEN RIDER Series, a long-standing hero drama series with a history of more than 40 years. The production of a new series and theatrical version of the near-future sci-fi anime PSYCHO-PASS has been announced and the movie Rakuen Tsuiho -Expelled from Paradisewill come out soon. We cannot help but continue watching and following this creator’s activities.

Appearing in many anime, manga, and movies, Samurai remain very popular both domestically and internationally.

In Japan, a group called “Omotenashi Busho-tai” (hospitality samurai team) is getting a lot of attention lately, for its community PR activities done in feudal warlord costumes. Its team members dress in costumes of famous local warlords, such as Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu, and offer various “omotenashi” (hospitality) services at their home grounds, including welcoming visitors, sightseeing guidance, and the taking commemorative photos with visitors, as well as great sword fights and dance performances.

They have been introduced in various media, such as TV, radio, and Internet, thus contributing to the revitalization of the local area.

The pioneer of the “Omotenashi Busho-tai” is the “Nagoya Omotenashi Busho-tai,” formed in 2009. Conducting their PR activities for Nagoya City based out of Nagoya Castle, they’ve released a DVD, CD, and photo collection, becoming increasingly active and popular year after year. been formed around local castles and landmarks all over Japan. Each of them are conducting unique and original activities to promote tourism in their respective cities and prefectures.

In February, Japan’s largest busho summit “Zenkoku Busho-tai Tenka-ichi Ketteisen No. 2: En” (National Busho-tai Championship) took place in Nagoya, the birthplace of busho-tai. At the gathering, various events were held with busho-tai gathering from all over Japan.

Ten teams chosen from around the country participated in a championship tournament (see photo), displaying their performances in a fierce competition for the honor of being named “tenka-ichi” (best in the world), a title decided by the number of votes culled from the judges and visitors. Two teams also attended as guests, bringing extra excitement to the event (see photo).

You can meet these teams at tourist locations throughout Japan.

As a national symbol, samurai allow you to delve in ancient history’s charms. Visit them to experience their qualities up close.

As they capture the hearts of young people all around the world, Japan’s anime and manga have now led to a new form of entertainment beyond watching and reading: Cosplay, becoming characters yourself. The World Cosplay Summit, held in Nagoya every year, was launched to create a new kind of international exchange through cosplayers all over the world. Since the inaugural event in 2003, the number of participating countries has grown to reach 20 in 2012. This year, Cosplayers from each of these countries will be competing against one another once again for a ticket to go to the cosplayer’s holy land, Nagoya. The main event of the competition is the “Cosplay Championship,” where each country’s representatives give stage performances to vie for the title of Grand Champion. The scoring for deciding the world’s best cosplayer is based on not only the completeness of the costume but also performance and staging. Last year’s winner was Italy, followed by runnerup USA and third-place Thailand. This year’s event is scheduled to be held on August 2. You can either join the audience to cheer on the event or become a cosplayer!

Focus! Young Creator 聚焦!年輕創作家 주목！젊은 크리에이터 Manga has established itself as one of the unique cultural properties of Japan. To create manga, one must have the ability to think up a story, draw pictures, and write scripts all together. Though few can actually combine these skills to become professional manga artists, there are now other opportunities to work in the field of manga creation that have appeared recently.

A manga designer of Manga Designers Lab. is now working for NIJA & JANI project, Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores’ international promotion service. The department store thinks manga promotion is effective for conveying messages directly to overseas travelers with its visually expressive images and stories. This museum since September 2011 exhibits original pictures and related-materials of Fujiko-F-Fujio, a cartoonist who created famous works such as “Doraemon,” “Perman,” and “Kiteretsu Daihyakka.” The desk, a huge collection of books and materials that he love and used are on display at “Fujiko-F-Fujio’s Room.” Original short movies are screened, which is exclusive at “F theater.” Visitors can read comics freely at a manga corner and find familiar comic characters at “Field.” A café offers dishes inspired by his works and a shop has a variety of original goods.

The Ghibli Museum was designed by animation director Hayao Miyazaki.

A permanent exhibition called “Where a Film is Born” showcases the film production process in five different rooms.

Children can also touch and ride the Cat Bus that appears in the film “My Neighbor Totoro.” (Note: The Cat Bus is for children age 12 and under only.)

将来是想成为漫画家呢？ 还是动画制作人员？ 或是人物角色设计师？还是插画家呢？ 来到日本工学院学习，实现你的梦想吧！

从基础开始逐步学习。同时通过实践课程进而学习 CG、漫画、动画、人物角色设计、素描等多种多样的技能。

运用之前学习的技巧，以秋季联合作品展（Gi）为目标来进行原创作品制作。学生们从十月份开始着手制 作以完成这份第一学年的完美答卷。

以动画、漫画及人物角色设计为主轴，广泛进行包括像 CG、网站设计以及数码插画 等等运用电脑作业的知识与技术的学习。 日本工学院专门学校与日本最早设立媒体科的东京工科大学为姐妹校。在需要实时 保持更多更深层次的知识的数码动画业界，能与大学有相互交流及学分互换制度， 对学生的未来发展有很大的益处。 实践性的课程得到了许多动画工作室以及出版社的协助，提供给学生进行工作室实
