Excelsior Christkindlsmarkt
Rooted in sustainability, community, and public service, Recovery is more than a bike shop. Deeply connected to their Northeast Minneapolis community, they host weekly meetups, group rides, and DIY fix-your-own-bike support.
The team at Recovery refurbishes and rebuilds bikes that were once destined for landfill to like-new performance. Thousands of bikes are donated to communities in West Africa each year, while the rest are sold in their shop. There is no other bike shop in the Twin Cities that matches the quality, attention, and value offered by Recovery.

Touting itself a a “bird friendly cafe,” Sparrow is one of the friendliest coffee shops in the Twin Cities. One of our favorite specialties is the Swedish Latte. With hints of cardamum and spice, it’s sure to warm you up on a cold winter’s day!
Kickin it old-school, Sparrow doesn’t have a website or social media. You can find them in the real world at their location on Penn, just south of Lake Harriet

Michael does a little bit of everything as the Brand Marketing Specialist at Atmosphere, from spearheading the annual Pantone Party, to supporting sales and design with RFP responses. A city boy at heart, he feels right at home in the downtown office. Outside of work, you might catch him biking along the river (even in the winter!) or supporting local restaurants and live music in his Northeast neighborhood.
As Steelcase’s A+D Manager, McKaela inspires through her firm foundation in design & sales and passion for bringing out the very best in everything she touches! You’ll see McKaela soaking up the outdoors with her two daughters in the eastern is always hard at work, partnering with designers to find the perfect Designtex solution for their projects. Whether it be a sustainable textile, custom drapery or a graphic wall covering, Janine will find an answer for every need! As a western suburb lifer, Janine takes pride in raising her two daughters here and shopping some of the same small businesses that have been around since she was younger.
