Meet Rashan Ali, the multi-talented and philanthropic Decatur, GA native taking media by storm. From her humble beginnings, Rashan has grown to become a prominent actor, author, and radio & television personality best known for her appearances on TV One’s “Sister Circle” and BET Plus’ “All The Queen’s Men.” As an AKA Soror and Founder of Sporty Girls Inc: The Cool Soror Podcast and Brand and The Coach’s Daughter Production Company, Rashan has dedicated her life to inspiring young girls with her message of female empowerment. Rashan Ali is a notable figure in both the sports and entertainment industries, thanks to her passion for media and her dedication to empowering young women. From an early age, she knew that she wanted to share her voice with the world, and that determination led her to pursue a degree in Broadcast Journalism at Florida A & M University. Afterward, she became heavily involved in Atlanta’s entertainment scene, working for both LaFace Records and the late Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes. It was during a contest search for new talent on HOT 107.9 FM that Rashan truly found her calling. Out of over 500 applicants, she was hand-picked to join popular radio personality Ryan Cameron on-air, and from there, she hasn’t looked back. Today, she believes firmly in the concept of “Doing Media Differently,” and her work continues to inspire and empower young women throughout the industry.
With her captivating charisma and effortless grace, Rashan Ali quickly won over millions of listeners as a radio host. Her talent propelled her program’s rating to the coveted #1 position during its early morning time slot. Building on her success, Rashan went on to host the popular “A-Team” Morning Show on the same station. Her journey in radio came full circle in 2010 when she reunited with Ryan Cameron to cohost The Ryan Cameron Show on V-103 FM, Atlanta’s premier urban formatted station. Later, she took on a new challenge as the host of “The Streetz Morning Grind” on 94.5, a new hip hop station in 2012. Rashan’s impressive career and magnetic personality makes her a force to be reckoned with in the radio industry.
Rashan Ali’s remarkable journey in sports journalism is nothing short of impressive. Her unique perspective and unmatched passion for sports have paved the way for numerous notable opportunities, including sideline reporting for various sports networks and shows. From her early days covering the Atlanta Hawks and the Southern Conference Sports Network, to later being the Social Media Correspondent for NBA TV’s “GameTime” during the NBA Playoffs, Rashan’s work speaks for itself. In addition to these impressive accomplishments, Ali has also hosted various shows, including “Atlanta and Company After Noon” on NBC Atlanta, “Under Armour Highlights of the Week” on the NFHS Network, and “HBCU Playback” on Aspire TV. Her experience and expertise in the industry makes Rashan Ali a true trailblazer in sports journalism. She worked as a freelancer for CNN and HLN’s Bleacher Report and co-hosted “Falcons Rise Up Weekly” on Atlanta’s CW 69 for four seasons. Additionally, Rashan hosts her own podcast, “The Cool Soror Podcast,” which discusses the experiences of women and
men in black, Greek-lettered organizations. However, she has expanded the brand to include all “Cool People.” Throughout her career, Rashan has proven her talent and versatility, which is evident by her stint as one of four co-hosts on “Sister Circle,” a nationally syndicated talk show on TV One that ran for three seasons. Most recently, Rashan made a guest appearance on the second season of Tyler Perry’s “Sistas” on BET and played a supporting role in “All The Queen’s Men” on BET+. Rashan Ali’s ability to engage with audiences and tell powerful stories has made her a respected figure in the media industry.
As we can see, Rashan Ali has truly made a name for herself through her incredible work in both the sports media and entertainment sectors. She is an inspiring example to young women who may hesitate to go after their dreams, as she proves that anything is possible. Throughout her career, she has remained focused on inspiring others and working hard to create a platform for herself, while paving the way and setting the example for others. Her passion for television and radio broadcasting has opened closed doors of opportunities that wouldn’t have been available otherwise. And it’s clear that this is only the beginning for Rashan Ali – with an undeterred spirit, no challenge will be too big! She will continue to take on new projects and put her heart into everything she does, making sure that she provides young women everywhere with a powerful source of motivation.
In conclusion, this AKA Soror and FAMU Rattler alumnae, is a multimedia personality, who’s resilience and purpose driven is an all-around testament of Black Girl Magic and boss lady moves.
