Starting college can bring exciting experience and also unexpected challenges, concerns (academic or personal) e.g. anxiety, depression, loneliness, issues around sex & sexuality, unplanned pregnancy.
Counsellors provide a confidential free non-judgmental service; listening and provide support.

The Student Health Service at ATU Donegal is a free, confidential appointment-based Nurseled service that is offered to all registered students Monday to Friday with an emphasis on health promotion during term time.

Nurse led clinic
Doctors (GP) (on site 4 days a week).
Urgent/ Emergency appointments on Friday arranged through the nurse at Ballyraine Health Centre.
Health Promotion Clinics – e.g. STI Clinics (Wednesday morning ) & Contraception Clinics.
Blood Clinics – Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Confidential, non-judgmental service; records kept on a separate network to the main system and not disclosed without permission of the student concerned.
Free visits during term time college hours but unless medical card holders, may have to pay for certain medications.
Medical Certs-certificates will only be issued on the day after speaking to a nurse or doctor

Long Term Illness – register asap, medical information and updated list of medications.
The on campus health service is not intended to replace your own doctor but to provide you with immediate care when necessary.

Upon arrival for your appointmentsinform receptionist before taking a seat in the waiting area outside the Gym. Please arrive on time for appointments, if unable to attend please call reception to cancel your appointment.
Receptionist or nurse may ask for information – important to assess whether appointment needs to be urgent/ emergency.
If you have any respiratory symptoms or temperatures, try to call ahead to inform reception otherwise please wear a mask and inform reception on arrival.

STI Screening and treatment. Contraception & Free contraceptive Scheme for 17-30 year olds.
