The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Little Shop of Horrors

his fall, experience two cult-classic live film screenings at Atlanta Symphony Hall, featuring special appearances by original cast members! The featured films include The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Spooktacular Tour with Brad & Columbia on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, followed by Little Shop of Horrors: 40th Anniversary Screening Hosted by Ellen Greene on Friday, Nov. 13, 2026. The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Spooktacular Tour invites audiences to join the original Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick) and Columbia (Nell Campbell) for a screening of the original unedited movie with Atlanta’s longest running shadow cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (LDOD). Audiences will have an opportunity to meet the original Brad & Columbia from the movie; participate in a costume contest; and interact with a live performance by the local Shadow Cast ensemble. They will be performing scenes from the movie ‘live’ on stage while the full un-edited film is shown behind them. Adding to the excitement, fans will be treated to a special live performance of ‘Once in a While’, Brad’s song from the stage show that was cut from the movie. Broadway Stars Headline City Springs Theatre Company’s Les Misérables this September in Sandy Springs

ity Springs Theatre Company (CSTC) kicks off its ninth season of musicals at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center (SSPAC) with the legendary hit Les Misérables. It will be directed by CSTC’s Artistic Director, Shuler Hensley, who made his Broadway debut in the show’s original run, playing Javert in 2001. Since its London premiere in 1985, Les Misérables has been seen by more than 150 million theatregoers worldwide. The three-weekend run in the SSPAC’s Byers Theatre will be the first local staging of the musical in more than a decade. “Because of its rich history and massive global success, Les Misérables probably has the broadest appeal of any musical we’ve ever produced,” says CSTC’s Executive Director Natalie DeLancey. “Les Miz changed the cultural landscape in so many ways not only by helping usher in the era of the ‘mega-musical,’ but by introducing so many new theatergoers of all ages to the art form. Because of its immense popularity, for many, this was the first musical they had ever seen.” Based on Victor Hugo’s iconic 1862 novel, Les Misérables is the story of a

former convict seeking redemption while being relentlessly pursued by an unforgiving police inspector. Featuring unforgettable songs including “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Bring Him Home,” and “One Day More,” this Tony Award®-winning musical has become one of the most celebrated productions in theatre history. Making his CSTC debut and starring as Jean Valjean will be New York-based actor Jacob Keith Watson, a veteran of seven Broadway productions including the recent Lincoln Center Tony®-winning production of Ragtime. After appearing last year as Coalhouse Walker Jr. in CSTC’s Ragtime, Jonathan Christopher returns to play the show’s ruthless Inspector Javert. Christopher appeared on Broadway in the 2023 revival of Sweeney Todd alongside his brother, Nicholas. Also making her CSTC debut as Fantine will be Grammy®-winning vocalist Anna Sailors. The Atlanta Opera Presents Silent Night: A Wartime Miracle

hat would it take for you to lay down your weapon and walk toward the enemy? This November, The Atlanta Opera opens its 2026–27 season with Silent Night, the Pulitzer Prize-winning opera inspired by the true story of the Christmas Truce of 1914. In the midst of World War I, soldiers from opposing sides made the extraordinary decision to stop fighting. For one night, they emerged from their trenches, exchanged gifts, sang Christmas carols, played soccer and recognized the shared humanity of the men they had been ordered to kill. With music by Kevin Puts and a libretto by Mark Campbell, Silent Night brings that remarkable moment to the stage through powerful music and human storytelling. French, British and German soldiers arrive at the front carrying languages, loyalties and hopes for the future. As Christmas Eve approaches, music travels across no-man’s-land and creates an opening for connection. The temporary peace that follows is both inspiring and fragile, offering a reminder of what becomes possible when people see one another as individuals rather than enemies.

It also received the Best Opera Award at the Irish Times Theatre Awards. The cast features Sylvia D’Eramo as Anna Sørensen, Kameron Lopreore as Nikolaus Sprink, and Luke Sutliff as Lieutenant Audebert. Performed during Veterans Day week, Silent Night offers a timely opportunity to reflect on service, sacrifice and the human cost of war. The opera does not ignore the consequences of the soldiers’ actions. When their commanders learn of the truce, the men are reprimanded and reassigned, making their act of peace all the more powerful. Silent Night will be presented Nov. 7, 10, 13 and 15 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The opera is sung in English, French, German and Italian with English supertitles. Atlanta Ballet 2 Returns to the Fox Theatre with Cinderella

tlanta Ballet is set to return to the Fox Theatre for the first time since 2019 as Atlanta Ballet 2 presents three performances of Cinderella, Oct. 16-17. Dancers from Atlanta Ballet 2 and the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education will perform one of the world’s most beloved fairy tales on the city’s iconic stage, marking an exclusive homecoming for the company. Cinderella tells the timeless story of kindness, perseverance and the search for true love. Part of Atlanta Ballet’s family ballet series, the one-hour, family-friendly production is designed to introduce young audiences to the art of ballet, transporting them into a world of enchantment through immersive storytelling, vibrant costumes, imaginative sets and beloved characters. “Having the opportunity to perform at The Fox is very meaningful for our

Atlanta Ballet 2 dancers,” said Gennadi Nedvigin, artistic director of Atlanta Ballet. “The theatre with its whimsical decor is deeply rooted in Atlanta’s cultural history, and returning there with Cinderella allows us to share a timeless story with new generations in the magical environment.” Choreographed by Bruce Wells, this version of Cinderella blends classical choreography with narration to suit audiences of all ages. Wells is internationally acclaimed for his role as a former soloist with New York City Ballet, where he performed works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Frederick Ashton and Anthony Tudor. Audiences may also recognize Wells’ previous Atlanta Ballet 2 works, including Beauty and the Beast, Swan Princess and Snow White. The Rialto Celebrates 30 Seasons of Unforgettable Live Performances

his season, the Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University celebrates a remarkable milestone: 30 seasons of bringing world-class artists and unforgettable performances to downtown Atlanta. Since opening in 1996, the Rialto has become one of the city’s premier destinations for jazz, world music, dance, and cultural experiences. Serenity and Joy: Atlanta Master Chorale Opens Its 2026-2027 Season

tlanta Master Chorale invites you to experience the beautiful duality of the human spirit as we open our 2026-2027 season with “Serenity and Joy” on Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at 8 pm. This inaugural concert explores a truth we all know intimately: while we love music that is joyful, fun, energetic, and full of life, we are equally moved by music that is slow, calm, and serene. This program brings both together — sometimes within a single piece — creating a rich and varied musical experience. The centerpiece of the evening is the extraordinary Mass for Double Choir by Swiss composer Frank Martin. Widely regarded as one of the greatest a cappella choral works of the 20th century, this virtuosic masterpiece draws on the intricate interplay of vocal lines found in Renaissance music, enriched by warm, rich post-Romantic harmonies. You will be captivated as the work alternates seamlessly between moments of profound serenity and exuberant joy, proving simply amazing at every turn. This concert offers audiences a chance to experience the full emotional spectrum of choral artistry — from hushed, contemplative passages to soaring, jubilant harmonies. It’s a fitting way to launch a new season, reminding us that beauty exists in both stillness and celebration,

Let’s Go with “Building Creative Confidence Through the Arts”

t Galloway, the arts are more than an opportunity to perform, create, or discover a new talent; they are an essential part of how students learn, grow, and understand the world around them. Beginning in PreK3 and continuing through 12th grade, students are encouraged to explore their creativity through music, theatre, dance, visual arts, and more. Along the way, they build confidence, develop their individual voices, and discover that there is no single way to be an artist. At Galloway, we think of our students as three types of artists: Finders, Becomers, and Connectors. Finders are discovering new interests and experimenting with different forms of creative expression. Becomers have found a discipline they love and are ready to deepen their skills and commitment. Connectors see how their artistic experiences intersect with other areas of learning, their community, and the world beyond Galloway. That journey begins in Early Learning, where the focus is on exploration, imagination, and process. Students experience music, performing arts, and

visual arts while building the creative confidence that will carry them forward. In Middle Learning, opportunities expand as students develop foundational skills and begin making more choices about the disciplines they want to pursue. By Upper Learning, students can dive even deeper through introductory and advanced courses in music, theatre, dance, and visual arts. Throughout the program, students learn from Fine Arts faculty who are practicing professional artists themselves. Their real-world experience brings a depth of knowledge to the classroom while giving students mentors who understand both the creative process and the courage it takes to share your work with others. Whether a student is stepping onto a stage, picking up an instrument, working with clay, choreographing a dance, or discovering an artistic medium for the first time, there is room for them in Galloway’s Fine Arts program. Holiday Magic Takes Center Stage with Ballethnic’s Urban Nutcracker

Returning to the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center in Decatur on Dec. 19 (2 p.m. and 8 p.m.) and Dec. 20 (3 p.m.), this beloved production continues to enchant audiences with a fresh, joyful reimagining of the timeless holiday classic. Recognized as one of the nation’s first culturally reimagined adaptations of The Nutcracker, Ballethnic’s signature production treats audiences to an exhilarating blend of classical ballet, jazz, modern, and African dance, creating a unique experience while honoring the ballet’s classical foundation. The result is an uplifting performance filled with powerful storytelling, vibrant choreography, and unforgettable music that resonates with audiences of every generation. One of the production’s greatest strengths is its celebration of community. Professional dancers perform alongside students from Ballethnic Academy of Dance, offering young artists the rare opportunity to share the stage with seasoned performers. ounded in 1985 by William Baker as Gwinnett Festival Singers, the New South Festival Singers (NSFS) begin their 42nd concert season returning to Gwinnett County on Saturday, Oct. 24, 6 p.m., at the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Snellville, Georgia. The program will be repeated on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 25, 2:30 p.m., at the historic Central Presbyterian Church in downtown Atlanta, across from the Georgia State Capitol. Out Front Theatre Opens New Season with Once Upon a One More Time

The Greek noun anamnesis evokes the ever-presence of the past and the act of remembering. Using this idea as its guiding principle, the exhibition stages conversations between the work of Sergio Suárez and the museum’s collections of Indigenous American, Greek and Roman art, and Works on Paper. Through print, sculpture, and ceramic works interspersed throughout the galleries, Suárez explores the passage and presence of time on cosmic, mythic, and intimately human scales.
