ABOUT THE KITCHEN ON TOUR Our client, a true master gardener, originally wanted a classic white kitchen to replace her current white kitchen, but we asked her to expand her color palette and imagine how beautiful it would be to wake up each day to a gorgeous kitchen just like her stunning gardens.

We suggested switching the two colors with Benjamin Moore’s White Dove on the walls and ceilings and Farrow and Ball Blue Gray on her luxury fitted custom cabinetry. Modernized but classic, clean lined yet relaxed. The result—we will let you decide for yourself.

ABOUT THE KITCHEN ON TOUR The previous kitchen had low ceilings, very little natural light and was disconnected from the other parts of the home. When the homeowners expressed interest in renovating to better accommodate entertaining their grown children’s families, architect Linda MacArthur came up with the idea to raise the ceiling and add a clerestory. This addition allowed the Studio Entourage team to fit the design within the existing footprint and create an elongated kitchen that is now bathed in natural light. The design team also worked with the homeowner to carefully connect the kitchen to the adjacent living spaces. The homeowners are also Francophiles who love braising dishes, so having a gas La Cornue range was important and became a centerpiece for design.

For this year’s project we are pleased to showcase a collaboration between Brandon Ingram, Mallory Mathison Glenn, Morgan Creek and Revival Construction. The kitchen combines refined details throughout, giving the space a rich yet comfortable feel. The focal point of the room is centered around a cleanly designed plaster hood, flanked by doors with ornate fretwork panels. Rounding out the space is an island with panels inset into scrolled legs, integrated refrigerator and a hidden pantry. The kitchen balances sophistication and openness, creating a timeless space for everyday life.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER Ryan DeCesaro, owner and longtime designer at Morgan Creek Cabinet Company, is proud to continue the legacy of showcasing the luxury cabinets of Morgan Creek in this year’s Tour of Kitchens.

For over 20 years, Ryan has brought his passion of creating furniture with an emphasis on fine details and finishes to design cabinets for some of the finest homes in the Atlanta area. During that time, he has collaborated with many of the area’s leading architects and designers, which many can be seen both in Atlanta and nationally, and also on this year’s tour. Ryan says, “It is my desire to have the cabinets I design seamlessly integrate with the architecture and design of the home, thereby creating a space that is not only comfortable to live but pleasing to the eye.”

ABOUT THE KITCHEN ON TOUR Upholding the uniqueness of the house and historical neighborhood, this newly renovated Druid Hills kitchen embodies elegant and timeless design. Jenny Lyons worked with the homeowner to create a multi-functional space that reflected his unique style and love for entertaining. White Himalayan Crystal countertops integrate the walnut island and dark grey cabinet finishes. Glass-paneled cabinets showcase collectibles, and a pewter zinc hood range creates a grand focal point. The kitchen is equipped with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, including a luxury wine fridge, a 48-inch gas range and a steam oven.

ABOUT THE DESIGNERS PAUL CASTELL has brought a lifetime of business and remodeling experience to the creation of Dove Studio Kitchen & Bath. He has completed over 500 projects ranging from small renovations to high-end custom homes. Paul’s passion for cabinetry and thorough understanding of remodeling has enabled him to create and execute a customer-driven kitchen and bath firm. Paul has positioned quality as the centerpiece of Dove Studio. To Dove Studio staff, kitchen and bath design is an art and how you execute that art is the science.

PAUL CASTELL & JENNY LYONS

JENNY LYONS moved to Atlanta in 2002 to complete her internship for a Bachelor of Science in interior design from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. In this internship she discovered her passion for space planning in residential interiors.

Eighteen years and hundreds of kitchen and bath designs later, she is doing what she loves every day. Her work has been featured in show homes, home tours, published in national magazines and has won COTY and OBIE awards throughout the years.

ABOUT THE KITCHEN ON TOUR A growing family was more than happy to bid farewell to their Georgian-style home’s former builder-grade kitchen in favor of a custom design with plenty of style and state-of-the-art appliances. The design team expanded the layout of this space, incorporating a large pantry, morning bar and dedicated refrigeration and cooking zones. A moody color palette is complimented with white marble and a custom designed hood made of pewter and brass. Walnut inserts and glass add additional design details and sophistication. This kitchen is the perfect balance of style and functionality.

ABOUT THE KITCHEN ON TOUR The AH&L 2021 Tour of Kitchens brings us to the designer’s personal home this year. This kitchen packs a big punch, loaded with wonderful accessories and one-of-a-kind details to really make the available space work. With cabinets by Wm Ohs, the doors are 1-inch thick with an interesting twist on transitional styling. The selected finish is a warm cobblestone with dark bronze metal accents and hardware. The space also features new wood floors, gorgeous natural quartzite tops, handmade tile, a Galley® workstation sink, and an AGA Total Control range.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER Laurie Lehrich of Cardea Home has been designing kitchens and residential cabinetry for 27 years. She has a singular skill for infusing real, emotional resonance into living spaces by balancing inspired design with practical functionality. She credits her unique approach to her invaluable experience in residential construction, her industrial design education, and her tenure with some of the best designers and trade professionals in the industry. Adept at space planning and engineering solutions to architectural and construction challenges, she marries creative enthusiasm with technical knowledge to ensure the realization of her client’s vision.
