OF TRUSTEES PETER PEARSON NINA RADA KOVICH
What moved you to get involved with the Atlanta Fulton Public Library Foundation?
My first involvement with the AtlantaFulton Public Library Foundation was as a consultant in 2017. They asked me to examine their fundraising activities and make recommendations for how to increase fundraising so the Foundation could support even more programs at the Fulton County Library. When the need for an Executive Director of the Foundation arose, they asked if I would be interested. I felt like I already knew the organization well and I had great respect for their Board members, so it was easy to decide to take this job.

What is your favorite part of serving on the Board of such a large public library system?

I enjoy serving with the other Trustees. Because all of our Trustees are library lovers, we all understand the Board’s role, which is to provide governance of the library system with oversight from the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. Management of the library system is the responsibility of Director Holloman. The Board is responsible for working with the Director on policy development, strategic planning, budgeting, and resource oversight. The Board is also responsible for evaluating of the Director, hiring the Director, and advocating for the library system.
