✔ In the editorial, the President of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece, David Saltiel, pointing to recent instances of cultural ‘bullying’ in Greece directed at Israeli figures under the guise of anti-Zionism, highlights the spread of this dangerous phenomenon.

✔ In his article titled “The Hypocrisy of Greek Anti-Zionism” Ilan Manouach, conceptual comics artist, researcher and publisher, analyzes how legitimate criticism of Israeli policy systematically devolves into a camouflaged, “progressive” antisemitism.

✔ Online and social media antisemitism is addressed by the President of the European Jewish Congress, Moshe Kantor, in an article originally published in the Jerusalem Post. He focuses primarily on the pressing contemporary issues of spreading fanaticism, fake news, and the malicious use of artificial intelligence, which trap vulnerable teenagers in digital environments filled with hate and extremist theories.

✔ Following the recent discovery of rare photographs depicting the 200 resistance heroes executed by the Nazis at the Kaisariani Shooting Range on May 1st, 1944, Thrasyvoulos-Mordechai Papastratis presents historical evidence regarding “The Three Greek Jews of Kaisariani”—Alberto Ezrati, Moissis Karasso, and Henri Perahia— who were among those executed.

✔ Journalist Moissis Litsis, in an article based on his research into Leon Bourlas, recounts the harrowing story of the Jewish communist, veteran of ELAS (Greek People’s Liberation Army) and the Panhellenic Anti-dictatorial Front (PAM), who is perhaps the only Greek Jew to have been a victim of the military dictatorship.

✔ In his study published in this issue, John Kalef-Ezra, Professor Emeritus of Medicine at the University of Ioannina, examines the long-term impact of the Holocaust on the physical health of survivors during the first two postwar decades, with an emphasis on Greek survivors.

✔ We publish a tribute to the life and work of Auschwitz survivor

Heinz Kounio, who passed away on April 16, 2026, at the age of 99 in Thessaloniki. An iconic figure, Heinz Kounio was among the first Greek Jews to record their Holocaust testimony in his book I Survived Death, while dedicating his life to preserving the memory of the Holocaust.

✔ “The Holocaust and Dante’s Divine Comedy” was the title of the keynote address to be delivered by distinguished journalist Sakis Moumtzis at this year’s Holocaust Remembrance Day event in Volos. The speech was canceled following protests by leftist parties over the choice of the speaker. The text of the address is republished here.

✔ Professor Emeritus Alexis Heraclides publishes his study on the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” the world’s most widespread conspiracy theory and one of the most notorious antisemitic texts. This article is included in his recent book, Racism and Antisemitism: The Roots of the “Final Solution” .

✔ Yorgos Patseas, a digital product designer, software engineer, and project manager for the implementation of the “Iossipos” digital repository, presents the project —one of the most significant and innovative digital cultural documentation initiatives in Greece in recent years, which brings the long history of Greek Jewry to life and makes it freely accessible to the general public (repository.jct.gr).

✔ We republish a book review by historian Odette Varon-Vassard on Michael Frank’s book, One Hundred Saturdays: Stella Levi and the Search for a Lost World, which chronicles the story of Stella Levi from Rhodes, who survived Auschwitz and immigrated to the US after the war.

✔ Under the title “The ‘Cultural Exile’ of Jews from Nazi Germany as a Precursor to Dehumanization and the Holocaust,” we publish a book review by Dr. Xenia Eleftheriou, Scientific Director of the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki, on Jeremy Eichler’s book, Time’s Echo: The Second World War, the Holocaust, and the Music of Remembrance, based on her remarks at the book’s presentation in Thessaloniki.
