Pre-order to ensure your Chicken Stew through a member of the Piney Chapel Fire & Rescue or by calling Assistant Chief Chris Teeples 256-9980194. $25.00 per gallon, $15.00 per half gallon; and $8:00 per quart. Monies benefit the department.

Swan Creek Wildlife Management Area Cleanup January 18

With Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful at Swan Creek WMA (Intersection of Harris Station and Lucas Ferry Roads in Tanner) from 10:00AM-2:15PM. You are encouraged to bring walking, cycling, horseback riding and kayaking – perfect for 12:00AM to give shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain

your own supplies if you'd like; however, there will be trash bags, litter grabbers, gloves, buckets, and safety vests available. Volunteers are encouraged to wear waterproof shoes/boots and work clothes. This event is outdoors, however, when in group settings masks and social distancing will be required. The Alabama Veterans Museum &

Archives will be closed on Monday, January 18, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr Day holiday.

Limestone County Courthouse (West Washington Street) in downtown Athens to the Limestone County Event Center/ Alabama Veterans Museum. Lineup will begin at 8:45AM; procession will start at 9:00AM. Free and open to the public.

January 18 At the Limestone County Event Center/Alabama Veterans Museum (114 West Pryor Street in Athens) with the Limestone County NAACP featuring student essay winners, special presentations, music and presentation of awards starting at 9:30AM. Light refreshments will be served after the program. Free and open to the public.

February 6 With Main Street Athens in downtown Athens, AL. Ticket holders enjoy a chocolate treat, sweet deals, and a chance to win a door prize from each participating merchants during this prelude to Valentine's Day. Only 300 tickets available for this chocolate affair! Early Bird Tickets: $6.00. Tickets TBA

Play Outside Day February 6 Families everywhere are encouraged to get outside the first Saturday of every month and play in public parks, enjoy trails, hit the waterways, explore greenspaces and just play!
