Jeremy Scott was born in Miami, the only child of hippie parents. Having lived and worked in many major US cities; New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, and Atlanta, where he has become a successful photographer and has found his home along the Gulf Shore of West Florida.
“I got into photography in my early 30s after seeing famous photographer Richard Avedon’s portrait work in a bookstore,” he recalls. “From then on, doing my own photography became an obsession!”
Jeremy’s influencers are those of his childhood/ teen pop-culture. But other influences can be attributed to the artwork of Patrick Nagel and Jean-Paul Goude. “I was (and still am) influenced artistically by many of these great artists of their era but also am inspired from the color and moody lighting of Star Trek reruns and 80s MTV videos.”
His photographer influences include: Helmut Newton, Vivian Maier, Richard Avedon, Diane Arbus, and Rodney Smith.
