Celebrating 10 years of partnership

New York, NY—De Medici Imports and Atalanta Corporation will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their partnership at this month’s Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.

In 2007, De Medici joined the Gellert Global Group, Atalanta’s parent company, in order to find a wider audience for their specialty ingredients. In 2015, they officially became a part of Atalanta. Founded in 1979, De Medici Imports brought the first Tuscan extra virgin olive oil marketed nationally in the United States. Since then, De Medici has been a leader in taste education for the specialty food business community connecting old world, artisan producers with American retailers.

De Medici is proud to announce the launch of Château Miraval Extra Virgin Olive Oil, coinciding with its 10th anniversary celebration.

Château Miraval’s stunning 26 acres of olive groves sit on 20-mile long stone-walled terraces, which date back to Roman times. This organic oil is crafted from olives grown on the Miraval estate blended with premium locally-sourced olives. It is cold-pressed and comes in a black sandstone bottle, which helps protect the oil from damaging UV rays. The sweet, peppery olive oil has notes of almond, hazelnut, and artichoke, with aromas of freshly cut grass and a spicy finish.

DAMIAN TORYAK joined the Atalanta Team as Culinary Development Manager in 2016. Damian spent 2 years in the U.S. Army as a helicopter crew chief, before finding a new passion in the culinary arts. He attended The Philadelphia Restaurant School and continued his education at Le Grand Monarque, a 3 Michelin Star hotel in Chartres, France. After returning to the U.S. he worked at various high end restaurants before settling in with Sodexo. Today, at Atalanta, he helps shape the future of the Culinary Industry through trainings, recipe development and product development.

MAURIZIO FERRARI is MENU’s official traveling chef.

An Italian native, Chef Maurizio’s birthplace of Finale Emilia is nestled next to the famous birthplace of Balsamic Vinegar, Modena, Italy. Raised in the rustic, northern province’s traditions, Chef Maurizio grew to love the rich, authentic Italian culinary style.
