Loaded Halloumi Fries with Harissa Greek Ranch Dip Servings: 2-3 Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes For the fries 9 oz Halloumi cheese ¾ cup all purpose flour Vegetable oil for frying 2 Tbsp Za’atar seasoning ¼ cup fresh dill, chopped 2 scallions, white and green parts chopped Lemon wedge for serving For the sauce 1 cup plain whole fat Greek yogurt 1 Tbsp fresh dill 1 Tbsp fresh chives 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder 2 Tbsp lemon juice Salt and pepper 1-2 Tbsp harissa Cut the halloumi into equal sized “fries Place the flour in a large bowl and add halloumi. Toss well to coat the halloumi completely. Heat the oil in a medium-large pan until the end of a fry sizzles. Working in batches, carefully lower the fries into the oil. Fry for 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towel. For the sauce, in a medium bowl combine Greek yogurt, dill, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, and lemon juice. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper, to taste. Drop a spoonful (or two, depending on heat level desired) of harissa over top of ranch and swirl in. Drizzle Greek ranch over halloumi fries and sprinkle with Za’atar. Add chopped dill and scallions, serve with lemon wedge and additional sauce for dipping.
