




Hailing from Kampala, Uganda, Yvonne is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy (Environmental Policy) at Arizona State University. With over 8 years of experience in communications and education, she brings a unique perspective to her studies in sustainability and conservation. Beyond academics, Yvonne is a passionate advocate for mental health, human rights, and women's rights. A global citizen, she actively engages in the Global Career Network and is a part of ICMA, always championing inclusion, diversity, and equity. Her mission: to build a world where every voice is heard and valued.
Assistant within ASU s Social Transformation Lab. Their research interests are queer and trans health equity, policy, and non-carceral approaches for suicide prevention and mental health care. Their dissertation research explores experiences and perceptions of trans joy, care, and safety among trans/nonbinary young adults. Isaac earned their BA in Sociology from the University of North Florida. They earned their MSSW (Master of Science in Social Work) with a macro concentration in Community and Administrative Leadership from the University of Texas at Austin.
Isabella Castillo
of Criminology & Criminal Justice
Isabella Castillo is a second-year doctoral student in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. She earned her master's degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and bachelor's degrees in International Studies and Italian from Indiana University. Her research interests are broadly centered on the multifaceted relationships between disability, intersectionality, and policing. Particularly, her research aims to understand how Latino, Hispanic, and Black individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their loved ones comprehend, interact, and are affected by the justice system and its actors.
Bothwell Piason is a doctoral student in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. His research interests mainly focus on Victimology, Underserved communities and International Criminology. Bothwell has a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Sciences and a graduate certificate in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies from Illinois State University. Before coming to the United States, Bothwell received a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Criminology from Monash University in South Africa, a master of science in International Relations from Bindura University of Science Education and a special honors degree in Monitoring and Evaluation from Lupane State University in Zimbabwe.
