Design North + South The Design School 810 S. Forest Mall (Forest/University) The Design North Building is home to the Design Library and research and special project rooms, including design studios, graduate student studio workspace, lighting laboratory, solar instrumentation laboratory and a solar roof work area that doubles as a daylight testing area. Red Square focuses on changing exhibitions that feature top student work for each semester, as well as faculty research and design projects. The prototype/

The Design South Building boasts the Gallery of Design on the first level. The Digital Lab, in the basement of the building, gives students access to computer-controlled laser cutters, 3-D printers (including two ZCorp printers) and a large-scale scanner.
Art Building School of Art 900 S. Forest Mall (Myrtle/Tyler)
The School of Art, housed in the Art Building, is ranked 15th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. The Harry Wood Art Gallery showcases student and faculty work throughout the year.
The School of Art offers a large visual resources collection, which serves as a resource to the art history and art education disciplines, and an archive of Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibitions.

Stauffer Communication Arts B The GAME School 950 S. Forest Mall (Forest/9th) Stauffer B is home to The GAME School. The computer lab is equipped for digital media creation with fast computers and media applications. Fifteen dedicated 27” Apple iMac computers are equipped with the latest media software, such as Apple Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cycling ‘74 Max/MSP,

modeling shop is a supervised resource that supports all design disciplines, research and special projects.
Adobe Creative Suite and more. The Gallery Lounge serves as a research space and a tutoring center. The digital fabrication lab is a 3D CAD/CAM development studio, with Dell Precision workstations that run software such as Rhino 3D for digital model design.
Nelson Fine Arts Center School of Music, Dance and Theatre, ASU Art Museum 51 E. 10th St. (10th/Mill) The Nelson Fine Arts Center is home to the Paul V. Galvin Playhouse, a 485-seat proscenium theatre hosting theatre productions and dance concerts for the School of Music, Dance and Theatre. Also located in the Fine Arts
Center are the school’s theatre scenic, costume and lighting shops, the Dance Laboratory studio and FAC 133, a black box theatre space. The center is also home to the ASU Art Museum.

The Music Building houses the Evelyn Smith Music Theatre, music classrooms and practice rooms, the Rafael Mendez Library Museum, recital halls, the Music Research Facility, Katzin Concert Hall and Organ Hall, home of the handcarved, 1,800-pipe Fritts Organ. Dance and Theatre 611 E. Orange St. (Orange/McAllister) Bulldog Hall and Sun Devil Hall are home to the School of Music, Dance and Theatre’s dance and theatre programs. The facilities feature dance studios and performance spaces, faculty offices, classrooms, laboratories
and gymnasiums. The Margaret Gisolo Dance Studio is located in the Bull Dog Hall and is one of the only dance studios in the country designed with interactive multimedia and telematic features.

51 E. 10th Street (Mill/10th) Named “the single most impressive venue for contemporary art in Arizona” by Art in America magazine, the ASU Art Museum presents contemporary art in interactive formats, with emphasis on new ideas and media. The museum

and Theatre has four electronic music studios, music education and therapy labs, a costume shop, piano repair shops, more than 200 studios and practice rooms, several multimedia classrooms and the ASU Libraries’ Music Library. You can also find music administrative offices and the school director office in the Music Building.
Mill Avenue Residential Community 1201 S. Forest Ave. (Forest/Apache) First-year Herberger Institute students studying on the Tempe campus now reside in this state-of-the-art residential community just steps away from their classes. The hall features seven floors
of suite-style rooms, a dining facility, creative movement and performance spaces, study lounges, art and dance studios, and an on-site gallery.

The University Gateway Building houses various programs from the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts including, music, music therapy, architecture, art, animation and photography. The five-story facility features computer labs, photography dark rooms, maker spaces, motion capture studios and acoustically tuned practice rooms. An exciting highlight of the space is the Esports Lounge, where students can participate in weekly gaming competitions and daily drop-in play.
Theatre School of Music, Dance and Theatre 10 Lyceum 901 S. Forest Mall (Forest/Tyler) The Lyceum Theatre is one of the School of Music, Dance and Theatre’s proscenium theatre performance spaces and provides an intimate theatre where small professional and student productions are staged.

Ceramics Research Center and Brickyard Gallery ASU Art Museum 699 S. Mill Avenue, Suite 108 (Mill/7th)
The Ceramics Research Center is one of the most extensive 20th-century studio ceramics collections in the world. This is one of only a handful of facilities in the world that combine access to an extensive ceramics collection, significant archival research materials and exhibition space. Exhibitions change seasonally, and admission is always free.
Innovation Corridor The Design School 12 Novus 777 S Novus Pl Ste. 100 (Rural/University) The office building is home to several Herberger Institute programs and ASU departments, with the Herberger Institute gallery in the main first-floor lobby where students can showcase work. The second floor houses The Design School studio programs, including InnovationSpace and the Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

ASU Gammage

ASU Gammage is a multipurpose performing arts center and the largest university-based presenter of performing arts in the world. Best known as the last major architectural design of Frank Lloyd Wright, the auditorium was completed in 1964. The space hosts several productions from the School of Music, Dance and Theatre throughout the year.
Gammage Hall 14 Dixie 1001 S. Forest Mall (Forest/10th) Dixie Gammage Hall is home to the Herberger Institute Dean’s Office and the Office of Recruitment and Admissions. Offices for theatre and dance faculty in the School of Music, Dance and Theatre are located on the second floor. The Sidney Poitier New American Film School administration and faculty offices are also located on the second floor.

All first-year students of the Downtown Phoenix campus are recommended to live in Gordon Commons. Gordon Commons features student lounges and meeting space, laundry facilities, a private terrace and a 4,000-square foot neighborhood shade garden. Additionally, there are multiple dining options in the community.
The School of Art’s Gallery 100 is located inside Mirabella at ASU. Established in 2003, the gallery serves as the primary venue for undergraduate student group exhibitions in all media.

Grant Street Studios is the home of the top-ranked ASU School of Art MFA graduate studio programs. Occupying 40,000+ sq. ft. of renovated historic warehouse space in downtown Phoenix, GSS hosts 60+ graduate studios, two galleries (STEP and Northlight), production facilities and a critique and event space.

MIX Center
50 N Centennial Way, Mesa Located in the heart of Downtown Mesa, the Media and Immersive eXperience (MIX) Center is the main production site for The Sidney Poitier New American Film School. The facility’s professional-grade soundstages, 280-seat screening theater, digital fabrication labs, post production suites and technical software for game engines and animation, provide all the resources needed to create industry disrupting work in film, immersive experiences and emerging digital media. Film students share the space with The GAME School’s graduate program in Extended Reality Technologies and The Design School’s graduate program in Experience Design. The MIX Center is also home to Dreamscape Learn and to Endless Games and Learning Lab.

380 N 1st Ave, Phoenix The 16-floor building and 283,000-squarefoot project, which opened in fall 2021, houses more than 500 students in the top 13 floors. The first three floors offer academic space for Herberger Institute programs in popular music and fashion. It also adds to the Valleywide network of ASU Entrepreneurship and Innovation co-working, event and exhibition spaces.

The ASU California Center Grand is located in the LA Fashion District and boasts a variety of resources for ASU FIDM fashion students, including academic classrooms, production studios and galleries for showcasing student work. It’s also home to Borderlands Cinematic Arts in The Poitier Film School and the ASU California Center Library with specialized support for fashion, costume, visual arts, and more. Faculty offices for ASU FIDM, The Poitier Film School and the Herberger Institute are also housed here.

The ASU California Center Broadway, located in the former Herald Examiner Building, is a historic Los Angeles landmark designed by Julia Morgan in 1914 and updated with custom designs for emerging technology curriculum in mind, including academic spaces, a virtual production studio, innovation labs, high-tech Planar LCD studio systems, a studio with a large green screen and event venues ready for professional networking. ASU California Center Broadway houses The Sidney Poitier New American Film School’s undergraduate LA-based programs and the Narrative and Emerging Media graduate program, a joint program with the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

ASU FIDM Museum features a 15,000-piece collection that represents over 400 years of fashion history, including haute couture and readyto-wear, world dress, film costumes, accessories, jewelry, textiles, fragrance packaging and ephemera. Part of the ASU FIDM fashion school, the museum fosters student learning, public engagement, and recognition of the creative arts and entertainment industries by providing access to the collections through exhibitions, publications and other research opportunities.
Los Angeles Center Studios 9450 S Bixel St, Los Angeles, CA
Now available to Poitier Film School students are the facilities at Los Angeles Center Studios, a 20-acre film production campus located 10 minutes from the ASU California Center. Students can access equipment and soundstages at this working studio lot, which has been used in over 4,000 productions, including “Mad Men,” “Dark Knight Rises,” “CSI” and “Top Gun: Maverick.”

Students attending ASU in LA can choose to reside in the Broadway Palace apartment building located within walking distance of the Grand and Broadway buildings.
