Recertification Story

In an effort to develop the game and promote it globally, FIFA understands the importance of quality pitches at every level. From that understanding, FIFA developed its Quality Turf Concept, which established a global standard for football turf. This test includes laboratory testing of turf systems, but primarily consists of tests on site to conﬁrm the quality of the pitch that has been installed. The focus of these tests reﬂects interactions between the ball/surface, player/surface under simulated wear and extreme weather.

The results of these test for ﬁelds that pass all of the criteria fall into TWO certiﬁcation distinctions:

Designed to emulate good grass pitches for amateur soccer. This standard includes a three year certiﬁcation.

Designed to emulate the grass pitches and meet the highest demands of professional football. This standard includes a one year certiﬁcation.

Fields may be retested upon completion of their certification process.

It is under this recertiﬁcation of the FIFA Quality Pro mark that the LigaTurf brand really sets itself apart from all other turf systems in the world. In fact, no turf system in the world has passed FIFA Quality Pro more than two years. However, the LigaTurf brand has passed the FIFA Quality Pro standard for 8 years! This recertiﬁcation at FIFA’s highest level ensures your pitch will perform at the highest standard over the life of the field.

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE AT ASTROTURF.

At AstroTurf, we prioritize the safety and performance of our products through rigorous testing protocols. As part of our ongoing commitment, we were the first sports turf company to thoroughly examine our manufacturing process and remove polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Our development team ensures that AstroTurf products are tested for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances using internationally recognized, third-party accredited labs.

PFAS-Free by Design

We want to make it clear—PFAS are not part of our product design. We take extensive measures to prevent these substances from being added to our products through strict material, design, production, facility, and supplier controls.

Supplier and Manufacturing Standards

• Supplier Agreements: All raw material agreements specify no intentionally added PFAS materials.

• Manufacturing Partner Requirements: We mandate that all manufacturing partners adhere to our stringent standards and share our commitment to PFAS compliance.

• Finished Product Evaluations: We conduct thorough testing on finished products through globally recognized third-party labs to confirm that they are free from PFAS.
