e here when That Emil hoists little Ida up the flagpole, play tag with Pippi Longstocking or explore Matt’s Fort. In Astrid Lindgren’s World you and your family become part of the classic stories, and the line between story and reality, and between theatre and play, is always blurred. The park is full of imaginative play areas, and music and singing can be heard from our many stages throughout the day. When you become hungry, you can find a nice picnic area or visit one of our restaurants that serve hearty Småland food made from local produce. After a full day of play and unforgettable meetings, you can sleep comfortably in a chalet right by the park.

OUTDOOR THEATRE
W
e put on 50 different performances in the park every day. Here you can see well-known scenes performed from Astrid Lindgren’s stories and join in with the singing of the classic songs. In Katthult, Emil is up to mischief for days on end to his father Anton’s annoyance. In Villekulla Cottage, you can meet Kling and Klang who try to catch Pippi Longstocking. The Brothers Lionheart fight Tengil’s soldiers in Wild Rose Valley, and in Matt’s Fort, Ronja and Birk leap over the gorge Helvetesgapet.
ADVENTURE AWAITS HERE I
it is a big experience for a child to be at the centre of everything that is happening, with their favourite characters so close they can touch them. These are the things that happen here in Astrid Lindgren’s World. Between the performances, you can meet Pippi Longstocking, That Emil and the others in their home settings. It is the meeting between the children and Astrid Lindgren’s characters that is the big adventure and what makes the visit really memorable.

PLAY IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUNG AND OLD

strid lindgren cared deeply about children’s right to be children. Play runs like a red thread through all her books and, of course, also here in Astrid Lindgren’s World. As well as the exciting fairy-tale settings that the children can explore at their own pace, we have lots of places created just for play, outdoors and under cover. Here you can balance on things, jump between the stones, cross the water on a raft and lots more.
ADMISSION PRICES this year, Astrid Lindgren’s World is open from 19 May to 27 August. We are also open on weekends in September and during the Swedish autumn half-term break. The prices for admission and accommodation vary slightly depending on when you visit us. Our prices for the whole 2017 season are shown below.

e have many different types of accommodation to choose from in direct connection to Astrid Lindgren’s World. In our newly built ’Den Lilla Staden’ (The Tiny Town), all the accommodation is different. Here you can stay in old workers’ cottages, town houses, cosy crofts or maybe the imposing two-storey house. If you would like to stay in a chalet, we have everything from basic chalets without shower and toilet to modern chalets with their own bathroom and kitchen. There are also campsite pitches with electricity connection near our guest accommodation.
