OUR TECHNOLOGY Mimetic Blue® SA affinity chromatography adsorbents developed and manufactured exclusively by Astrea Bioseparations comprise Mimetic Blue® SA ligands attached to PuraBead® supports. These adsorbents selectively bind albumin and related proteins from a variety of sources, including plasma, serum and recombinant cell cultures to yield highly purified biological products.

Mimetic Blue® SA ligand is a highly stable, chemical ligand and the adsorbents exhibit negligible ligand leakage and maintain a high level chromatographic performance over many process cycles.

Based on Astrea Bioseparations PuraBead® support matrices, both Mimetic Blue® SA HL P6XL and Mimetic Blue® SA P6HF adsorbent offer excellent flow properties, near mono-disperse particle size distribution and high protein binding capacities. The differences between the two products are the base PuraBead® crosslinking with P6HF having higher flow properties than P6XL, and also the HL P6XL version has a higher ligand density than the P6HF version.

Operational Flow Properties With Mimetic Blue® SA HL P6XL the recommended operational flow is up to 500 cm/h with column diameter less than 3 cm, and up to 200 cm/h with column diameter greater than 5 cm. Mimetic Blue® SA P6HF enables the operation of large diameter process columns at high linear flow rates (up to 600 cm/h).

• Rugged and easy to column pack – both PuraBead® 6XL and PuraBead® 6HF base matrices • Stable across a very wide pH range from pH 2.0 (short term) to pH 14.0 • Resistant denaturants (urea, guanidine hydrochloride), detergents (Triton, SDS) and thiol-reducing agents • Can be sterilized by autoclaving at neutral pH • Reusable for multiple process cycles

PRODUCT FORMATS Bulk Manufacture & Supply Astrea Bioseparations supplies bulk adsorbents for developmental and regulated cGMP manufacturing applications in volumes sufficient to meet the requirements of the largest biomanufacturing processes.

Mimetic Blue® SA HL P6XL and Mimetic Blue® SA P6HF are manufactured in Astrea Bioseparations’ controlled environment manufacturing facility under an accredited ISO 9001 quality system and regulatory support files are available.

Astrea Bioseparations also offers a range of pre-packed columns including 1 mL and 5 mL column kits and a range of other larger pre-packed column solutions.
