Column Isolation Kit Kit contents and Operating Instructions During normal operation it can be necessary to isolate the column from the process flow. This can be during connection or disconnection to the pumping system or to ensure that no air is in the pipework or during cleaning procedures. It is possible to mount the isolation valve on the top or side of the column. Kits AACIK1 and AACIK3 are sized for Evolve® 70 and Evolve 100 columns. Whereas kits AACIK2 and AACIK4 are sized for Evolve® 140, 200 and 250 columns.

Assembly instructions are described below, tools required are provided with the Evolve Column.

Figure 1 Contents of column isolation kit for top mounting AACIK1 & AACIK2 Assembly of Accessory Support Bracket Before assembling the column isolation kit, it is necessary to assemble the accessory support bracket. Follow the instructions below:

Remove the flow tube adaptor Remove seal adjuster nut and fit the new collar Locate the rod into the support bracket Fit the support bracket to the seal actuation nut but do not tighten grub screw 1. Replace the seal actuation nut Slide the support strap over the rod and the flowtube. DO NOT TIGHTEN this grub screw at this stage. 7. Re-fit the flow tube adaptor 8. Set column to the required height and tighten Grub screw 1 and grub screw 2. Fit required accessories to the flowtube adaptor. NOTE Both grub screws must be undone before the turning the seal actuation nut Column Online Column Out

Figure 4 Contents of column isolation kit for top mounting AACIK3 & AACIK4 The side support bracket is fitted around a tie bar on the column and to a vertically orientated port of the 4-Port valve. Ensure that the bolts are tighten so the valve is secure.
