Column Flow Reversal Kit This kit enables the column flow to be directed downwards or upwards through the column.

Reversed flow is useful to remove air in the system or during cleaning procedures.

There are two kits AACFR1 for Evolve® 70mm and 100mm columns and AACFR2 for Evolve® 140mm, 200mm and 250mm columns.

All materials in contact with the process stream have been selected for their suitability for use in equipment utilised in Biopharmaceutical applications and so either conform to relevant sections of FDA code of Federal Regulations vol. 21 170-199 and/or passed USP class VI test for in vivo toxicity.

Installation and Operation

1. Set-up the contents of the kit as shown in the schematic below Downwards Flow

2. Flexible pipework from and return to the chromatography system is not provided in this kit.

3. Before operation the pipework has to be primed with fluid and all air expelled. This is achieved by disconnecting the flexible pipework that is connected to the column and switching on the pumping system. When all air has been expelled from the pipework reconnect to the column.

4. Allow flow to travel through the column and pipework and valves connected to the column bottom and this will expel all air.
