EVENT CARDS

The events are practical or life hazardous situations that players must face. Whether positive or negative, these events encourage players to make team decisions that will impact their budget. FUN CARD

Fun cards offer leisure activities (more or less expensive) options to the players. The teams’ goal is to have fun while keeping their budget under control.

You get sick.

Medications are poorly reimbursed. Lose 1 pleasure point. Pay 60€ for health expenses if you do not have a mutual insurance company or 10€ if you subscribed to health insurance.

If you can't pay 60€ (or 10€ with health insurance), it takes you longer to heal. You miss work for a few days. Your next income then drops by 100€ and you lose 2 additional pleasure points.

Your director is offering to work overtime this month. You will have to work hard and have less time for your hobbies. If you accept, earn an additional 200€ at the end of the month and lose 2 pleasure points. Keep this card until the end of the round.

Concert by your favorite band 40€ for 2 fun points

Or

Music Festival

90€ for 3 fun points

UNEXPECTED EXPENSE

DILEMMA PLEASURE

QUESTION CARDS The questions allow players to be informed, each at their own level of understanding, about concepts related to banking, insurance, budget management and the risks associated with gambling.

If you have the choice between a 250g bag of pasta for €1.30, a 500g bag for €2.50 or a 1kg family pack for €5.50, which is the most advantageous?

The 500 g bag

Comments: Whenever possible, prices should always be compared with the price per liter or per kilo. Here, the price per kilo of the 250 g bag is 5.2€ (4 x 1.3 = 5.2), the price of the 500 g bag is 5€ (2 x 2.5 = 5) and the price of the family pack is 5.5€

I don't have enough money to make rent in November. A friend advised me to pay by check and to write on the back "to be cashed on December 10". Is this a good solution?

No, it's a risky solution.

Comments: There is no obligation on the landlord not to cash the cheque. By using my checkbook when I don't have the money in my account, I take the risk of writing a bounced cheque, pay significant fees and have my checkbook taken away.

You have third party liability insurance. One day, you have an accident and hit another vehicle. Your friend, who was in the passenger seat, was slightly injured and both vehicles were damaged. What will your insurance cover? • the damage to your car, the other vehicle and your friend's health costs • only the damage caused to the other vehicle

• the damage to the other vehicle and your friend's health costs*
