hy should you shop local and support small businesses?

Look what happened during the lockdown. Small businesses were forced to close their doors, while Amazon doubled their income compared to last year. So we must understand the reason to support small businesses and stop feeding the big sharks Hence, find out why you should shop local because only this way small businesses can be removed from life support and get a fair chance for survival.

Moreover, when shopping locally, it’s not only you doing a favor to small business owners to survive, but it’s also doing yourself a favor and receiving some benefits a large store could never give.

Furthermore, the staff at local shops are ready to go the extra mile and make your shopping experience as smooth as possible. They certainly know how to connect with customers on a personal level. In small stores, there are no crowds and your presence there is as glorified as a religious miracle.

MAKING DREAMS COME TRUE WHEN YOU SUPPORT LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES

Another reason why you should support local businesses is that they are built by ordinary people, who are often our friends, family, neighbors, or acquaintances. Small business owners are not a board or stockholders that have long lost touch with reality and have no idea what your needs are.

How you can Support Small Business

UOYDID ?WONK

Did you know that for every $1 spent in a small or medium-sized business 73 cents stay in the local economy, compared to 30 cents in a larger business? DID Y O U KNOW? • DID YOUKNOW ?

SMALL BUSINESSES OFFER BETTER SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

As opposed to the copy-paste products sold at large companies, local shops are a source of creativity and originality. They offer one of a kind products or services that they’ll be more than happy to customize and personalize according to your wishes.

Small business owners put everything they have in life at stake to make their dreams come true. And if we take a deeper look, they often have a couple of mouths to feed at home, a mortgage to pay, old shoes to replace, a roof to fix, etc.

BY HELPING THEM KEEP THEIR DREAM ALIVE YOU’RE DIRECTLY BRINGING HAPPINESS INTO THEIR LIVES. AND WHAT’S MORE REWARDING THAN MAKING SOMEONE HAPPY?

On the whole, the answer to why you should shop local is because when supporting local businesses you create a win-win situation for everyone in the community. You get the best buying experience, the owner and employees get their livelihood, the community gets the taxes.

West Milwaukee GREETINGS FROM THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT

The Village of West Milwaukee has evolved from a heavily industrialized community to one that has achieved a balance of industry and commerce while maintaining our tree-lined neighborhoods, well-kept homes, schools, churches, and parks.

Our central location in the heart of Milwaukee County affords our residents an almost unequaled access to virtually anywhere in the region while keeping a suburban feel and sensibility at home. That same central location and ease of access has been a major reason why we attract and retain industry and have a retail corridor that draws patrons from around the metro area. This is why the Village of West Milwaukee continues to develop the remaining vacant parcels of commercial land and the redevelopment and repurposing of underutilized industrial properties.

West Milwaukee is one of the smallest communities in Milwaukee County, covering just over one square mile in size, giving our residents and businesses a tremendous level of service and response from our Police Department, Public Works Department and the shared services of the Milwaukee Fire Department and the West Allis Health Department.

Our neighborhoods reflect the strong values of our people and their desire to maintain and grow that sense of community. As part of the joint school district of West Allis/West Milwaukee; we have Pershing Elementary School, West Milwaukee Intermediate School, and Notre Dame Middle School fulfilling their mission in what was previously St. Florian School buildings.

We welcome you to visit West Milwaukee to see why our people are so proud of our Village, it’s past, and are looking to the future.

As many have noticed, there are some changes at Pope Auto Worx, but not as many as it may seem. Justin Philipps and Steve Montgomery are the new owners of the business. We are both long-time Milwaukee County locals, and we are continuing the tradition of a family-owned business. We have already had the opportunity to meet many of you over the last few months. We are very sincere in our desire to continue the model Nick and Megan built of good, honest service. Frankly, the reason this all worked out was the similarity between their business model and our mindset. So, a few questions will arise.
