Chanrol continues to expand its range of products through a very successful import program and solid business relationships with overseas suppliers. The Sales Manager says that “the extensive range of related products has been a major factor to our recent growth over the last few years”.
As Chanrol proudly enters its 42nd year of manufacturing and supplying the Australian market, the profundity of this timeless quote rings more true than a ringing thing literally designed with a “no fibbing” failsafe security mechanism at its core.
Now that we’ve got your attention, as you may be aware, Chanrol continues to evolve in conjunction with the ever changing Australian packaging and Foodservice industries.
The Chanrol Disposable Food Packaging Range now includes; Round & Rectangular Take Away Containers (available in Standard Resin, Freezer Grade & Black), Tamper-Evident Containers (Round, Square, Rectangular), Dip Containers, Drink Cups in PP & PET, Wine Goblets, Champagne Flutes (1 or 2 piece),Plastic Glasses for Cocktails, Gelato, Margaritas, & Sprits, Food Buckets, Plates & Bowls, Paper (American Style)Food Pails, BIO Tableware Plates & Bowls, BIO Cutlery, BIO Burger & Dinner Clams, BIO Take Away Pulp Containers.
The Sales Manager also reports “as the economy has shown improvement in the local take away industry so has the end user confidence in upgrading to quality packaging that presents their products better than ever. Choosing innovative packaging that suits the product application
Chanrol’s National Sales Manager (David Anderson) describes the current changes taking place as “An investment, not only in the future of Chanrol, as a company, but in the future of the Australian manufacturing network as a whole. Firstly, we have commissioned the production of supplementary tooling to significantly increase output and ensure continuity of supply to the market. Customers
are quickly realising the importance of supporting Australian manufacturing and are enjoying the obvious benefits of reliable supply of a premium quality, cost effective product range.”
David goes on to extol the virtues of Chanrol’s 2021 recycling initiative, “Perpetual Loop Recycling Systems”. “Chanrol is currently developing methods of waste capture and the use of postindustrial and post-consumer material in the manufacture of our products. In conjunction with government support of the domestic recycling industry and state of the art technology made available by our raw material suppliers, Chanrol is confident that food safe products consisting of up to 30% recycled material will be available in the foreseeable future.”
perfectly has overtaken the desire for the cheapest product!” An example of this is our excellent growth in sales of customprinted PET Cups as end user outlets strive for a better, more professional image.
“Another noticeable change in the market is the industry’s support of local,

When searching for a new or improved Point of Sale solution for your hospitality or food retail business, the options have never been greater or, frankly, more confusing. No one has time to look at all of the alternatives. So here is a checklist of key characteristics that many business operators look for in a point of sale system. The more of these you can ‘tick’ the greater your chances are of making a well-informed decision.
☑ STABILITY
Your POS terminal needs to be functioning whenever your venue is. System security and hardware quality greatly reduces the risk of viruses, hacking or unexpected updates.
☑ VERSATILITY
As your business grows and adapts to changing customer needs and an increasingly challenging economy, you need a POS terminal that can develop with you.
☑ SIMPLICITY
A key criterion for your POS terminal should be that it is easy for staff to use. A system that is flexible allows you to refine it over time to further improve usability and service speed.
☑ FUNCTIONALITY
The modern POS terminal is much more than a calculator on a cash box. Advanced POS features can tangibly improve inhouse efficiency and the customer experience.
☑ CAPACITY
Rather than relying on cloud data storage and reliable internet connectivity, having your POS terminal with the capability to primarily store data locally reduces lag.
☑ DURABILITY
The front counter of a busy hospitality venue or food retailer can be an intense space. Your POS terminal needs to handle constant use by multiple operators with varying IT skill sets.
☑ ADAPTABILITY
A wide variety of available peripheral options means that your POS terminal can morph with your business if you decide to pivot and expand into new operational methods.
☑ RELIABILITY
Consistency is key for an efficient operation, so your POS terminal needs to be dependable and not requiring constant modification simply to allow your venue to effectively function.
☑ LONGEVITY
As a ‘workhorse’ of your business, you want your POS terminal to operate reliably, not just for weeks or months, but years. In regard to quality, you do ‘get what you pay for.’
☑ CONNECTIVITY
We live in a connected, data-driven world, where successful managers constantly analyse their venue to look for opportunities for improvement. Your POS needs to enable that.
Add Uniwell’s embedded POS terminals to the shortlist of candidates for your next point of sale solution, and see how many of these important qualities our systems offer.

AGE is the 'must-attend' hospitality event for 2021.
Over three days visitors will connect with commercial kitchen equipment suppliers, point-of-sale systems providers, paging and communication technicians, waste management experts, venue design and construction specialists, furniture and flooring wholesalers, food and beverage suppliers, database management professionals, entertainment providers, compliance professionals, uniforms suppliers and more.

INGREDIENTS (makes 10)
150 g Praise Lite Mayonnaise
20 L Crisco Canola Oil
13 g White Wings Cornflour
100 g Cashew Cheese
20 mL Lemon Juice (Fresh)
15 mL Olive Oil
10 g Dijon Mustard
30 g Roasted Cashews
5 g Oregano (Chopped)
5 g Thyme (Chopped)
5 g Dill (Chopped)
5 g Salt
5 g Pepper
45 mL Aquafaba (Cold)
240 mL Sparkling Water (Cold)
13 g Bi Carb Soda
200 g Rice Flour
1: For the filling, thinly slice some thyme, oregano and dill and place in a bowl. Add dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, olive oil, cashew cheese and some chopped roasted cashews. Stir until the ingredients combine and place it into a piping bag to chill in the fridge for 20 mixtures.
2: Once the mixture has chilled, gently open the zucchini flowers and fill with a tablespoon of filling. Don’t overfill them as they may open and fall to pieces during frying. Gently close the flowers and place them in the fridge.
3: To make the tempura batter, use aquafaba (chickpea juice) to replace egg whites. Pour the aquafaba into a bowl and whisk with a mixer for 10 minutes, until the liquid becomes light and fluffy to mimic the texture of egg whites. In a separate bowl, whisk together the rice flour, bi carb soda, White Wings Cornflour and sparkling water and aquafaba.
4: Coat the filled zucchini flowers in cornflour before dipping them in the tempura batter. Then, deep fry the zucchini flowers in heated Crisco Canola Oil and cook for two to three minutes. It is important to note that tempura batter doesn’t turn golden brown, it stays light in colour even when cooked.
5: Mix the Praise Lite Mayonnaise, which has no traces of egg, and Siracha hot sauce in a bowl until it’s fully incorporated. Serve the zucchini flowers with the side of Siracha mayonnaise dipping sauce.

300 mL Thickened cream, whipped to soft peaks
1 tsp Vanilla extract
Topping
1½ cups Roasted, unsalted peanuts
1½ cups Caster sugar
50 g DAIRYMONT butter, chopped
½ tsp Salt flakes
100 g Caramel popcorn
Caramel Sauce
75 g DAIRYMONT butter
¼ cup Brown sugar
2 tbsp Milk

1: Crush biscuits in a food processor to a fine crumb. Transfer to a medium sized bowl and mix in the butter. Press evenly into a 20cm springform cake tin and refrigerate for 30- 45 minutes until set firm.
2: Warm the peanut butter slightly in a microwave (or over a double boiler) until just softened.
3: Beat cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually beat in gelatin mixture, vanilla extract and peanut butter until combined. Fold in thickened cream. Spoon over the chilled biscuit base, and using a spatula, smooth down the top evenly.
4: Refrigerate for 4 ½ hours or overnight.
5: For the brittle; spread the peanuts out on one layer on a flat baking tray lined with baking paper and set aside.
6: Heat the sugar with ½ cup water in a medium saucepan over high heat. Stir with a metal spoon until sugar has dissolved then stop stirring and cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Remove from heat and stir the butter through until well combined.
7: Pour hot caramel over the peanuts, sprinkle with sea salt and allow to cool on a cold surface for 15 minutes until set hard. Break into chards.
8: To make the caramel sauce; melt the butter over low heat in a pan. Add the brown sugar and mix until dissolved. Add the milk and stir until smooth. (If the caramel is too thick add a teaspoon more milk). Allow to cool.
9: To decorate, top the cheesecake with caramel chards, caramel popcorn and drizzle with caramel sauce.
