Both my wife Sally and I started Assistance Home Care to help people stay at home & support the Family Caregiver. Our company was founded in honor of my mother-in-law, who we tragically lost to Alzheimer's, and in tribute to my wife Sally, who was her mom's primary caregiver for five years while raising our three children. It was through this personal experience that we came to understand the need for compassionate, dedicated, and high-quality home care. It is this firsthand experience that guides our work every day and shapes our Mission and Core Values at Assistance Home Care. Great Care Stays Connected Our client on-boarding process is designed to help establish expectations & goals for all involved. The key to a successful home care experience is great communication by all parties.
Coordination of Care Clients will select a primary point of contact (POC) for emergency & scheduling communications. AHC will develop a customized Care Plan best suited for your loved one's care needs and goals. AHC will maintain contact with the Client and/or POC to gather feedback to ensure that our care exceeds expectations. We strive to build a mutually agreed on schedule, complete with your loved one’s Family Care Team within 30 days or less.

Quality Assurance & Support At AHC, our primary objective is to continually enhance the quality of care we offer. We achieve this through regular Quality Assurance & Support Visits (QASV), which enables us to identify areas of improvement and optimize our services. Within weeks of initiating care, we conduct an initial QASV to ensure we're on the right track. Should any care needs change at any time, the Client or their point of contact (POC) should reach out to us, and we'll promptly update the Care Plan and inform the Care Team. We value collaboration and teamwork, and are always willing and available to discuss & update one’s Care Plan with the Client/POC.

Whether it's a birthday, anniversary or any other milestone, we can’t wait to make it extra special. Our Clients’ safety is our top priority, which is why we offer a free In-Home Safety Evaluation where we assess opportunities for enhanced & safe aging-in-place. We care about your experience with us and are always looking for ways to improve. Expect a call from a 3rd party survey company, whose team conducts a phone survey every six months to ensure we are providing excellent care. We believe every life story is unique and worth cherishing. That's why we offer our Clients the chance to capture their loved one’s ‘Life Story’ with our Lasting Legacies program at no cost!
What is Home Care? Home care services ensure your well-being by providing non-medical assistance in the comfort of your own home. Trained Care Professionals can assist with various tasks such as mobility assistance, safety oversight, bathing, medication reminders, meal preparation and activities.
How is Home Care different than Home Health Care? Home Care and Home Health services both take place at home, but differ in nature. Home Care is non-medical, providing assistance with daily tasks, while Home Health services are medical, requiring licensed healthcare professionals for speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, hospice & palliative care - each requiring a Physician’s order to initiate services.

Applicants are required to have a clean Federal, State and County Criminal Background Check
A 9-panel Pre-Employment Drug Screening & Random Screenings during employment
Must be registered on the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry with no infractions
Ability to demonstrate and work with technology appropriately within the context of care
Department of Motor Vehicle check to ensure a safe driving history and active license
Assess ability to demonstrate clear communication skills as well as proficient writing skills
Conduct a functional job-behavior assessment along with analysis and review from hiring team
Telephone interview, multiple face-to-face interviews and a final Orientation interview with owner

Reliability & Dependability
We've been very happy with the care we receive from AHC. AHC is the third agency we've used. The people in the office have taken the time to understand what we need, and even though we've been with the agency for a couple years, they still meet to check in every couple weeks. If we ever do have an issue with a caregiver, the managers take it seriously and fix the issue quickly. I can tell they really care about their Clients. We've used other agencies that have left us hanging with no care when a caregiver couldn't get to work. AHC has rapid-response staff for these emergencies. We've used them a few times, and they've been really good too. It means so much to know that even in emergencies, we're not forgotten.

Parkinson’s & Respite Care
We have been working with Assistance Home Care since May 2019. Caregivers with this organization have been visiting our home 6 days a week from 9am-5pm and assisting my husband who has advanced Parkinson's disease. We now have one main caregiver who is with us 6 days a week who has helped us greatly in the administration of my husband's day to day life and allowing me to be able to leave our home and do errands and classes and doctor's appointments, etc. ...
