What’s the role of business in a climate changed world? It’s more than changing light bulbs and recycling (though we do that too) because smaller actions don’t scratch the surface of the problem. Instead, we need to respond with solutions that address this global challenge. That’s why we’ve joined a coalition of businesses to lobby for climate legislation called Businesses for Innovative Climate and Energy Policy (BICEP), and support fellow snowsports enthusiasts in their climate activism through Protect Our Winters (POW). While climate is our priority, we also support hundreds of organizations working to improve our community with more than $3.4 million in cash and product annually. Our employee-run Environment Foundation, with matching contributions from Aspen Skiing Company, Aspen Community Foundation, and Coca-Cola, has donated more than $2.6 million over 18 years to environmental causes like trail work, energy policy advocacy, and environmental education. We also provide full-time yearround employees with two paid volunteer days.
